  1. Very helpful info, thank you for sharing. Our next cruise is in June and I worry that cabin selection ( even for an April 2024 booking) will reduce in the six months if I wait to book through next cruise. I don’t want to have to “negotiate” my cruise or the perks that may come with it, but I do want to not get the best deal when spending +$5k on an vacation. I do think my agent is great (MEI) and will likely save me more in price rebooking than I’d get in an OBC so may be we should just book it and accept what ever the deal is…
  2. Same here or just do things within walking distance. Booked on the cheap, and saving up for a big 2024 cruise!
  3. We looked at a similar difference (albeit on a different ship) and the biggest difference for us was the rooms with the lager balconies were on the bump-out - which I thought might be a greater overall view looking from side to side (down the side of the ship) than those on either side of the bump-out. Anyone that know better could confirm or deny this, we've yet to stay in one. If the diagram doesn't show a bump-out this info may not be as useful to you anyway
  4. Our agent repriced our next cruise when I thought there would never be any savings possible, so we're good there. Totally agree on booking early, that's why we are looking at 2024 now. I guess I'm just trying to figure out how to get the most for my money when booking a cruise, even this far in advance.
  5. Looking for some info on OBC. What is you expectation (if any) for receiving on board credit when you book your next cruise? Do you always get some OBC when you book your next cruise, or is driven by specific factors like length of cruise, room category, in-season vs. off-season? Do some Travel Agencies offer more than others when it comes to OBC? On a loosely related note, if you are moving up a C&A level on your next cruise (say it's in 2023), should you wait to book one for 2024 after that until after the 2023 cruise concludes to gain any additional benefits? Thanks for any information you might be willing to share
  6. Wow, given that review we might have to cancel our cruise next June!
  7. When we were on Anthem we saw two really great tribute bands, one Led Zeppelin and one Beatles. I’ve never been a big fan of tribute bands but they were so good! The Beatles band played in the main theatre, and Zeppelin was in the Music Hall several nights and once in 270.
  8. $150 turbo is probably too rich for my blood. Mohegan Sun (casino in CT) has weekday tournaments for under $100 where you can play for hours if your half decent and not a crazy player.
  9. We watch a lot of YouTube vacation vlogs and have always found they have really helped us get the feel of a ship or resort. Tours are good too, but the vlogs bring another dimension to the experience (if done well). It can help choose cabins, and pick up other tips to make the experience better as well.
  10. We were going to skip 2023 and just book a big cruise in 2024, but this was too good a deal to pass up! Anyone else?
  11. Sometimes it just seems to help me when some website gets wonky. For no logical reason I can decider occasionally changing browsers randomly makes a difference. Also, be sure to clear all your cookies and temporary cache files.
  12. Might be a dumb suggestion, but have you tried a different web browser?
  13. But do the outlets still have power? OP asked if the outlets still charge when the card is out and lights are off…I’m curious myself. Didn’t think o test that on Anthem earlier this year.
  14. It’s not “understanding” for me, it’s believing (or not) what the reason is. Is is supply chain? Or is it lost revenue to take the vessel offline for a few days? We don’t know. I work In a supply chain business, and while there are some lingering effects things have improved dramatically for us. Could it be beyond their control? Sure. There’s also a chance that it’s a choice made for economic reasons.
  15. Since a refurb seems unlikely before our cruise next June, I imagine Liberty will be an even worse by then. I worry that if it sucks my family will think twice about another cruise in 2024 when we plan on taking a longer, more exotic trip. Its a real mistake in my opinion for a company that needs repeat customers to let these ships fall into an embarrassing state or disrepair. For a screen to be broke for over a year, there’s no excuse.
  16. On Anthem early this year we went to NextCruise but the itineraries we wanted weren’t available yet. They offered a voucher ( or certificate, forget what is was exactly called) that I believe honored the $100 deposit per cabin that you can get while booking onboard and it also guaranteed the same OBC. Pretty sure we had 60 days to use it. I wish I was more confident in the specifics but the important part to me was that you could still get some of the benefits of NextCruise even after you disembarked.
  17. Doing some cleaning (found some boxes that haven’t been opened in 20 years) and came across this! Our honeymoon cruise on Majesty went Miami, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios, and Coco Cay!
  18. Same happened to us on anthem earlier this year. I believed it was to travel slower and conserve fuel. May be it was, May be not.
  19. Your complaint would have greater impact if you created your account just now and posted it 10 minutes later
  20. That’s a very insulting thing to say, in my opinion. May be you could read through more of this forum to better understand the community before making such accusations. Dozens of members, visiting regularly, posting hundreds or even thousands of times. Sharing their knowledge and experience to help others enjoy their vacation. Group cruises to gather with other members in the real world all based on their love for cruising. Now you judge these people, and make accusations? Wow.
  21. Our June ‘23 Liberty cruise was listing the DBP at $71 all along and it is now $90 and no discount! Outrageous!
