What is the best number cabana that is closest to the beach and pool?
Not sure what number it would be. We were #81 and we were right in the middle of the Hideout Cabanas. The regular cabanas are all mostly up by the main pool.

We just did a Hideout Cabana while on Symphony last month. The confirmation letter we received in our stateroom required us to call Shore Excursions to let them know how many guests to expect. It was just the two of us so not sure of the process with more people, with regard to arriving/checking in. Looks like others on this thread know best. But your guests’ admission is definitely included. The wristbands were in the Cabana already. Enjoy!!
That would make it much easier if they had us call ahead to tell names or numbers of people. Thank you for the information!

I've rented a cabana and had other people in my party beat me to check in..all they had to do was give my name and they were let in and escorted to the cabana. If you're there first you can just let them know to expect more people coming. Just tell everyone in your party to go to the cabana check-in area when they arrive. If they don't see it they can ask at the Hideaway entrance and they will be pointed in the right direction.
That helps a lot thank you for the information.

Assuming it works like a Beach Club cabana (I've never done Hideaway), yes, everyone just shows up together and gets taken to their cabana. At the Beach Club, there are wrist bands you put on if you want to leave and come back.
The shore excursions desk will have all this info once you board if you still have questions.
I will check with them once on board. Thank you for the help!

When we rented a cabana, they gave us bracelets to distribute to the other people in our party. We did not have to all check in together. Obviously, the name on the reservation is the person that needs to be present at check-in. Granted, this was in 2019, so the process may have changed since then.
thank you for the help!

No one in the cabana has to pay anything additional.
So do we all check in at the same time or how do they know who is supposed to be in the cabana?

The Hideaway Cabana says it is for up to 8 people. Does the person who bought the cabana just need to go into Hideaway Beach with the other people sharing the cabana or does everyone else have to buy a hideaway entrance separately? Sorry if the question sounds dumb but this will be my first time ever in a cabana. I just want to make sure I know how this works. Any help is very much appreciated.

So are we give 20$ for base camp extras as well or? And for deserted do you get 20$? Or? Can anyone that’s been on confirm? Going Aug 10
What's Included
- Specialty dining for dinner every night of your sailing and lunch on sea days.
- For venues with a la carte pricing, you’ll receive a $20 food credit — with the exception of Izumi in the Park, where you’ll receive a $10 food credit. Credits can only be used once a day.
- For ships with Izumi Sushi, you’ll have a choice of a prix fixe menu, or a $39.99 food credit for the a la carte menu.
- For ships with the following venues, these are included with an additional surcharge: Izumi Hibachi/Teppanyaki — $15 surcharge. Chef's Table — $49.99 surcharge. Empire Supper Club — $130 surcharge. Wonderland by DaDong — $24.99 surcharge. These will be charged once onboard.
- For applicable sailings, Holiday Celebration Dinners are included with a $49.99 surcharge. This will be charged once onboard.
I don't believe you get anything towards Deserted at all. That's Extra fees.

Agreed - what I mean to say is: Wild that it is 2024 and Royal still has these weird copy/paste errors in their products. Not surprised but always wild that such a large company that has a good product can fail so often in disseminating correct information effectively.
Sometimes I feel like they just use a very vague generic description for everything. Hard to tell what they mean at times and other times its confusing like you just said where they mention something that isn't even on the ship you are sailing on.

$10 for Izumi in the Park ? That’s pathetic
I just looked up a picture Matt had of the menu for Izumi in the Park. it is only $10 for two sushi rolls plus Edamame or seaweed salad, $8 for the hot dishes, and $8 for the bubble comes so it would cover a single to go order if you wanted one or the other. With how much pricing has gone up for the dining package including $20 wouldn't hurt them but I guess it is a for profit company and people keep paying their prices.

How much is the Taiyaki vanilla ice cream with strawberry drizzle and rainbow sprinkles served in an airy bubble cone? I don't even know if $10 would cover that. I don't mind going into Izumi to get food to go but the window would stream line that process much better.

"Wonderland by DaDong" making its way onto Icon would be an interesting development!
Wonderland is fun to try and all but I kind of like that its only on a few ships. Pushes me back to those ships to experience something like that again. Just like the fried cheesecake at 150 Central Park.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if the price varied... almost everything else does with Royal, lol. I thought I saw a much lower price in the past but I could be wrong or it could be the variability.
Hopefully if I book it ASAP on the ship maybe the price will be lower instead of waiting until game time. Prices with Royal do vary a lot. I mean if that $300 came with massage chairs, privet waitress/waiter, and a buffet we might be talking

There is definitely a fee. Not sure if it varies by ship or event or sailing but @Matt wrote an article about paying $350 to rent it out for 3 hours to watch a march madness game on Wonder recently.
Wow ok I might end up watching on the other TV's with everyone else
. I will check when I get on board I guess. Maybe its different when its not a tournament or special game.
-
I tried to search for it but I couldn't find any information on it. Does anyone know if there is a fee to have the owners box in playmakers for an evening to watch some football. If there is a fee does anyone know how much that might be?
-
At the start of Icon's sailings some of the restaurants were still an al a carte fee even with the UDP. Last week on Matt's live he said that he believed that they had changed that to give you a stipend at some of those restaurants like they do at playmakers or Izumi. Has anyone been on Icon recently and can clear up which restaurants allow a stipend and which are still a fee even with the UDP?

Didn't see this one listed, so figured I'd start the thread. Big family group going for us this time (8 of us)!
We have never been to either island. Have you been to either one or have recommendations on what to do for shore excursions?

Sushi to-go sounds like a fantastic idea! We have a late excursion one night so we'll miss our 5:30pm dinner reservation so maybe sushi can be our option that night?! Does anyone know if they ever try to accommodate you on missing your dining time by an hour or so? I would guess they wouldn't but maybe it depends on how booked the ship is? Thanks!
If you wanted to you could switch to "My time" dining then go online and book what time you want to be seated and let the head waiter know that day that you will be back late or I would just go talk to the head waiter once on the ship the first day to let them know and I'm sure they can accommodate you.

I know we got sushi to go on Independence just by walking in and ordering it for take out. I can't say with 100% certainty that's always the case on all ships, but I like your chances.
Fantastic thank you for the hope that I can. I didn’t see why it should be an issue but sometimes little things like that become a place where they follow the rules to the letter.
