Happy Anniversary! We are doing the same itinerary this Aug so will be following along for tips & advice. Enjoy & have a great time.

I just used the Deluxe package in Jan for $42 & it was well worth it. Specialty coffee, bottled water, wine, & mixed drinks each day more than payed for it.

I've never stayed in a suite either.. I just cant justify the cost to myself.. Plus im a DIY guy.. I feel weird when people are waiting on me hand and foot lol
I've always booked an interior (cost reasons as who really stays in the room) until this year & booked an ocean balcony on Allure. Really enjoyed it & have booked a balcony again for my Feb 2020 cruise. Still can't justify a suite cost yet.

I can reply to the Allure WJ as I was on it wk 1/27. Had breakfast & lunch there. As for the food it was good at least what I tried. My general thoughts is it's a little hetic sometimes with everyone running around trying to find a table & getting food. Now when they had staff seating people it was great & things went more smoothly as everyone wasn't going helter skelter as all they had to do was go get food & not worry about where they were sitting. In my opinion they need to do this all the time when it's busy.

Pertaining to flights. How early do you book before your cruise? My cruise is in August & the flight price has increased $30 in the past week. Should I wait until I've made my final cruise payment?

Since you will be on an Oasis class ship I would board early. Pack swimsuits for you in carry on. I avoided the crowds at the windjammer and ate at Park Café one time and at the Solarium on another. Much less crowded. Also explore the ship if you want. Check out the Promenade, Boardwalk, Central Park.
Agree Board as early as possible. I skipped the Windjammer & ate at Park Cafe in Central Park also & explored the ship. My opinion is the extra time you get is a bonus before you leave port

Thanks I planned on doing an excursion that included Mendenhall for sure.

Ok thanks I bought the DB already but for $10 per day for Voom I thought I might go for it

I know everyone has to buy the DB package in the room. But if I buy Voom / DB $57 on one device can I just buy DB $47 for my wife?

On my next trip to Juneau I plan on not booking any excursions, but just taking a cab into Mendenhall Glacier and exploring. It's an incredible place.
Do you have any excursion suggestions for first time there or is it better to skip whale watching & just go & explore Mendenhall Glacier only?
-
I was looking at purchased since this is my first trip at the RC excursions

Does anybody have any suggestions in JUNEAU? I was looking at Whale Quest, Orca Point Lodge & Mendenhall Glacier but am open to other ideas. Thanks

save them for when you retire, the $$ comes in handy! Jack had 250!! LOL
In Tennessee they just apply them to your years of service. My wife taught 31 years but her sick days gave her 32 years that her retirement check is based off

I know on the last night you have to put your luggage in the hall. Does anyone remember the time it has to be out there? Is it something like 11 or 12?

Drink packages

It depends on the price you pay for the deluxe package vs what you intend to drink. I think it's worth it if you purchase the package for as cheap as you can get it. I paid $42 in Jan but costing me $47 in Aug.
