  1. If they know they're going to cancel, I'd advise them to cancel CP purchases now to speed up the refunds for those. They can decide how they want to cancel later but would at least get some of their money back sooner.
  2. You can't use a photo copy, but you can use a duplicate copy from whatever agency issues it in your county/state. Just make sure its the 'long form' version.
  3. @Makmur You need to call RC directly. You will not be able to do this at the port. I suggest calling as soon as possible, and no more than a week before sail date, as RC submits the list of passengers to the authorities several days before departure.
  4. You don't need to go to an embassy. A consulate / consular agency will be able to help in an emergency. There's consular agency in Playa del Carmen, just across from Cozumel on the mainland, and in Cozumel itself there's a consular agent. https://mx.usembassy.gov/find-your-consular-location/
  5. I've read suggestions that you should drop off all passengers / luggage at port, so only the driver has to deal with the shuttle. Just an idea.
  6. @Benneth I don't recall the exact hours, but the excursion was about 8 hours. It includes the ferry from Cozumel to mainland (45min each way), plus the bus ride (~1.5hr each way). You will only spend around 2hrs (maybe 2.5hr) at the ruins. The excursion took up at least 85% of the time the ship was docked. There's no time for any other sightseeing. Perhaps a little browsing in the shops right at the port, but not much else.
  7. Chichen Itza through RC was only available at our Cozumel stop. In Costa Maya our "ruins" excursion option was only Chacchoben.
  8. Most, if not all ships have small water stations scattered around. However, you can't fill your own water bottle directly - you have to fill one of the plastic cups to then pour into your bottle.
  9. Juneau: rent a car and tour on your own, particularly Mendenhall Glacier Skagway: White Pass Railroad - I don't remember there being a VIP option? But if you don't get it, make sure to get sit in the last car - no view obstacles from the back! You can buy through RC or independently (I think for the same price), but the pick up for RC is right off the pier, while independent pick up is at the depot. Icy Strait: whale watching through Hoonah Travel Adventures - small boat (max 15 I think) and excellent tour guide Ketchikan: we did the Misty Fjords tour and wouldn't recommend only because it's a lot of travel time for maybe 20 minutes by the actual fjords
  10. Length of the sailing is probably a factor in the number of reported cases as well. If people are falling ill on day 8+ of the transatlantic, that's 1+ day(s) after the end of a normal 7 day sailing when passengers are falling ill at home rather than on the ship and it wouldn't be reported.
  11. You have to go to Guest Services and request the extra keys. As mentioned above, they'll be door access only (no onboard charging).
  12. If for some reason they aren't there when cabins are ready, head over to Guest Services. We forgot to request one and it was in the room within an hour or two.
  13. Verizon has an international plan that charges $5 per 24-hr period with unlimited text/call/data. I would imagine AT&T has something similar.
  14. This website is helpful for breaking down the options (bus, train, rental car): https://www.alaskatravel.com/transportation/anchorage-seward/ We took the train (adventure class) and would highly recommend it.
  15. @CanHardlyWaitThe deck plans on RC website all have icons for public restrooms
  16. @BowenYes, a passport with unofficial stamps could be rejected, as it 1) could be considered "alteration or mutilation" of the passport and/or 2) only authorized officials of the United States or of foreign countries may place stamps or make notations or additions. We also got our "free" "stamp" in Roatan at a little hut at the port. The biggest red flag that we missed / didn't think about was when the employee heavily hinted that also though free, we should tip her. Fortunately we haven't had any issues with the fake stamp while using our passports (yet)... but now we know better
  17. @Beachgirlwhy go all the way to Venice? Seems unnecessary to travel north for several hours just to backtrack all the way down to Amalfi. Leaving from Bologna would be shorter travel distance, and likely wouldn't involve changing trains.
  18. We did a Radiance sailing in mid-September last year. Lucked out with no rain, though it was a bit chilly. A decent number of shops/restaurants had already closed up for the season in Skagway, but there were still plenty open to browse.
  19. Agreed that this might be leftover language from the re-start days when room service replaced the embarkation day lunch at Chops.
  20. You shouldn't have a problem just walking up and getting a table at any of the restaurants that are open at that time.
  21. If you get upgraded to Star Class close to departure date, they'll refund the specialty dining onboard so no issues there.
  22. Make sure it's an official government stamp and not a tourist booth "passport stamp," as those could technically invalidate your passport.
  23. The only advantage is price. Onboard you'll pay around $23 per class (includes gratuity). So you'll get a good deal with a 3-pass even if you only go to 2 classes (last I checked the 3-class was less than $40). You can't sign up for classes ahead of time, you have to do that onboard. There will be sign-up sheets in the fitness center and you can usually sign up for the whole week. An old cruise compasses from a similar sailing might be useful if you want to get an idea of what the schedule might be.
