  1. Cool, hopefully we’ll be able to watch a delayed World Series again onboard.
  2. Yeah. I’m in a similar boat and have assigned likelihood’s Harmony 8/16- 40% Independence 10/22- 50% Oasis 11/8- 60% Celebrity Apex 11/21- 50% (worry about the smaller lines getting going)
  3. Finally got my 125% this afternoon thanks to the hard work of @AnnetteJackson and the team at MEI. I figured I’ll wait till a less busy time to get them applied.
  4. We al,ost went with that one. The promise of grand cayman on Apex led us over to that one instead. Let’s hope grand cayman opens back up by then.
  5. It’s just like with airlines, one of them jumps first at a customer unfriendly change, and if it floats they all jump after. Just look at the gratuity increases, as soon as one changes, they all follow.
  6. I see the Curly W in your profile. Are you also from the DC area? I’m in Frederick.
  7. Awesome. I’ll be there and at last check @Tiffeven was on that sailing as well.
  8. Which Oasis sailing in November are you on? I’m always on the lookout for others on the 11/8 sailing.
  9. Do we know if the same “one room per package” still exists? Or now if I’ve paid for 100 photos could I include other rooms photos. Could be a great one for group cruises if it works like that now.
  10. Ah, as with a nothing run it to the craziest possible solution, which is this November we have 7 of us in an Aquatheatre suite, 5 girls, 2 guys. And of those girls three are between 9-14. I’d bet they get at least 100 photos each. And the best part of that package is that it was for everyone in the room.
  11. Yeah. Mixed media recycling is nearly impossible. I used to represent a company that made toothbrushes that you would mail back and they’d separate the by long from the wood or hard plastic. Also, if you ever get a chance check out the Adam Ruins Everything episode on recycling. A lot of what we recycle never actually gets recycled as it ends up more expensive than virgin material.
  12. They can be made from recycled materials but paper cups can’t be recycled 95 percent of the time. Just like with a pizza box once it had food leech into the paper or cardboard it’s not recyclable. Also, most paper cups are coated with plastic to keep them from falling apart.
  13. But we’re back to juggling environmental vs. viral problems. The reusable cups were there to cut down on waste (even though no one takes them home afterwards and the carbon footprint of that one plastic cup provably equals 500 paper ones) it’s now how the environmental media would see it. It would be seen as creating more waste by using tens of thousands of paper cups. One would think simple costs issues would make sense, but having sat in on meetings like that before, everything PR related gets looked at.
  14. Having grown up in grocery stores (my dad was a store manager at GIant) I can just imagine the old folks at Leisure world accidentally walking through the tunnel.
  15. Would be more fun if they would turn those escalators in the two story targets into sanitizers
  16. Is it to create a tunnel that they have to be pushed through? Because it would be the best way to kill any germs. My biggest concern is if we go around killing all the germs that normally touch us, we’ll eventually be screwed with no natural defenses.
  17. No problem. Yes, bacteria isn’t going anywhere. I just find it funny how some assume something done in a professional kitchen/bar makes it clean. They should check out some of those Gordon Ramsey shows. But we should still patent that auto-cleaning freestyle machine. stick you cup in, door closes in machine, UV between 200 and 400 NM kills any bacteria or virus. we just need to work on it being voice controlled rather than a touch screen.
  18. Did I mention COVID-19 at all in my statement? No, I specifically mentioned bacterial counts and potentially lackluster cleaning at bars.
  19. Would be an interesting comparison to test the bacteria counts between the cup only I’ve touched and the ones the bartender has. On more than one occasion I’ve gotten a cup from the bar that looks dirty. What would be interesting would be if Coca-Cola’s vending division could create a machine that in between uses closed a lid to run through a cleaning (with water or UV) picture those old coffee machines in the 80s with the sliding door.
  20. One thing I’d be careful with is making anything a “forever change” this world is cyclical as are diseases. During the Spanish flu crowds were often in masks
  21. If you take a look in the live blogs section, there’s a few recent blogs from Rhapsody.
  22. Cool, maybe we’ll get lucky and if the inaugural gets moved some of those others move and we can have an unofficial group cruise. I’m watching pricing on the 3/28 very closely, it’s more expensive than symphony.
  23. The real clue that labor is the biggest problem is that they put freestyle machines in in the first place. Those machines take cartridges that are orders of magnitude more expensive that the traditional BIB (bag-in-box) package that you see under traditional soda fountains.
  24. I signed up for the 125% on the cruise planner purchases. Back when the second cancellations were announced. Yesterday, received a refund on my credit card instead of the credit as requested.
