30 days, that means April 13th!
AshleyDillo replied to Michael B.'s topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
This announcement says absolutely nothing about the 125% credit. The announcement that mentions the 125% credit indicates a specific time period that the 125% is valid for. If your cruise is later than the April 10 date for the credit, you can either self cancel for 100% or wait for Royal to extend the cancellations. Right now it makes no difference if you cancel today or 48 hours prior to sailing..you still are entitled to the 100% FCC with the Cruise with Confidence program in place. -
Anyone Get Email for FCC 125% and Already Cancelled?
AshleyDillo replied to WannaCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Has anyone actually gotten the promised 125% FCC though or even the 100% for canceling on their own? I don't think this is a fight worth wasting time on til the FCC actually gets issued. They may not honor what they said to those folks that canceled on their own. We don't know yet. -
Try adding the new reservation to the app manually. Should give you that option to add a missing reservation. You will need the reservation number. I understand they are backlogged for canceling the cruises. Once the cruise is canceled in the right system it will trigger the automatic refund of the cruise planner purchases. You shouldn't have to do anything. But if I had the option to cancel in the cruise planner I would go ahead and do it just to jumpstart the processing of those refunds. I know it can take up for a week for me to see the credit on my card when I cancel things.

What I still don't understand about FCC, help!
AshleyDillo replied to HHMoo36's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I do believe so. It is my understanding that the deposit would end up being partially refunded to you as the deposit effectively is you paying a portion of the cruisefare. Basically there's no way to get around putting money down for the deposit since that has to happen to create the reservation for them to apply to the cruise. The FCC would be an overpayment towards the cruisefare on top of your deposit so you would get the deposit refunded. In your example you would still owe the taxes so that would be taken from that deposit before refunding the excess, if any. You can even use a cruise that's past final payment and apply the FCC. In that case you have to front the entire cost upfront (no deposit situation) but when you apply the FCC you end up getting refunded to however you paid. -
I wonder where they're docking them. The Jacksonville cruise terminal isn't big at all and I think the bridge they have to go under has a pretty low clearance so it would be only teeny ships ala Carnival Ecstacy or Fascination.

We did an 8-hour ATV rental through through Viatour which was sourced out to Roadrunner Aruba. Basically it served as a rental car for the day as you can drive it on the streets. They helped us map out tons of things to see and it was super easy. Aruba has beaches but also has caves and some fantastic off-road sites to see that you need an offroading vehicle to get to. We hit up lots of places and were on our own schedule and agenda. We didn't get to use the full 8 hours since we had to be back for that Sunset Cruise that @betatke1480 mentioned, but it was super easy to pick up and drop off the vehicle right outside of the port. The Sunset Cruise was great too but I think the group we had on board had a lot to do with it!

Anyone Get Email for FCC 125% and Already Cancelled?
AshleyDillo replied to WannaCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Travel insurance is not refunded. Insurance policy coverage begins when you take out the policy as you had some cancellation coverage provided until the cruise was actually canceled. However, you may be able to apply the travel insurance premium to a rebooked cruise. -
Yes..they are backlogged in actually showing the cruises as canceled in the system.

Cancellation Refund / Credit Option
AshleyDillo replied to Lehigh98's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Yes. If you choose the FCC route you get 100% FCC. If you take the penalty refund instead you'll get the standard percentage refund back to your form of payment. -
Most likely a FCC. I would hold off on voluntarily canceling in case they extend the blackout period. You have 48 hours to cancel..I would wait it out until then since you would get the same FCC whether you cancel today or then. If Royal cancels you will get the refund.

Please explain how the FCC works?
AshleyDillo replied to RCIfan1912's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
If Royal cancels the cruise you either get the 125% FCC or a full refund. Any time an FCC is issued under the Cruise with Confidence it's actually Royal doing more than they have to really if you read the terms of the cruise contract with them. You choose to cancel, you choose to abide by their FCC restrictions. -
The 125% will be based on the cruise fare, so should be $4300 less the taxes. When it is issued that FCC belongs to you. You can book direct or tell your TA you want to use it and have them assist you. If your TA says they can do it, find a TA that can! Some Big Box places may not want to deal with the FCC. No..you have to put down a deposit. There has to be a booking created to apply the FCC towards. You front the money for the deposit and then the FCC gets applied to the rest of the cruise fare. You will get the remaining FCC issued as another FCC to use towards another cruise.
-
Ride it out...they may just push back this 30 day blackout to definitely include your cruise and if so, you'll get the refund option too. You'll still be able to cancel 48 hours for the same FCC that you would get for canceling now...might as well wait.

Anyone Get Email for FCC 125% and Already Cancelled?
AshleyDillo replied to WannaCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I want to say that since the processing of cancellations is so backlogged that they hadn't processed your cancellation in whatever system the auto-generated email used to create their mailing list. Now what that means when it comes to what compensation you will ultimately receive I can't say. They are saying the 125% FCC will be automatically issued April 13. I would imagine if you had already canceled it will show you as canceled by that time and you shouldn't expect more than the Cruise with Confidence cancellation FCC. -
I stayed at Casablanca and it was great..right in Old San Juan, very walkable area. They store luggage for you the morning of the cruise so you can check out and explore before heading to the ship to take advantage of the later embarkation. https://hotelcasablancapr.com/

If you look at the deck plans, it's gonna be by the Windjammer..same place as it is on Anthem.

Typically you will lose the OBC. That's why I never even consider the value of OBC in pricing out my cruises. It's a nice extra, but I know it won't likely be included in any kind of a refund situation.

When is a good time to rebook?
AshleyDillo replied to tiny blonde's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas tends to be a good time. Crowds are lower, hurricane season is close to over, and travel prices are cheaper in those inbetween weeks. The temperature is pleasant, water is still warm enough. Right after New Years through the beginning of February can be good as well for the same reasons, but it tends to be colder and the waters can be rougher then. -
1 Person in our Group Cancelling Question
AshleyDillo replied to Katiemay0101's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
They allow this? I had been told the entire cabin has to cancel under this policy. -
It's my understanding that the three port workers that tested positive were all contracted with the same company. That company was the one that serviced the portside services for Princess. I'm assuming a lot of other workers there are quarantining because of potential exposure from those coworkers so they are right to expect a labor shortage.
