POST-CRUISE UPDATE: I started this blog to keep track of how I stay on the Keto diet while on a cruise. Here's where I'm at, three days after the end of the cruise. After gaining 4.6 lbs on the cruise, I've lost most of them after going back to strict keto I was kicked out of ketosis but now I'm back So to all those who would like to go on a cruise while maintaining their diet, it is doable!!!

Odyssey of the Seas - Matt's done it again
PG Cruiser replied to rjac's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
@Matt, thanks in advance for this. I will watch the video when I am on the Odyssey in November and blog my search for these "hidden secrets" on this message board. Right now, I'm trying to stay away from Odyssey "spoilers" ha ha -
I actually wandered off to an area where crew members were handing out test results. I asked about it from their supervisor. She said it was for those who needed it for their return trips.

This I’ve read about… the answer is Yes

Royal has an FAQ section??? ha ha

I called Royal and this was the response. Royal will administer the test for subsequent cruises as long as the sailings are no more than three days. I hope the agent knew what he was talking about. It sounded like he was reading his answer off of a "Knowledge Base."

I will be disembarking from the Odyssey on November 20th this year. Then I will be boarding the Oasis the next day (21st). How will I get my required test for the Oasis sailing? Do you think Royal will give me a COVID test while I am on the Odyssey? Has anyone tried doing the proctored test using their phone’s data plan? Was it reliable? I’m afraid of losing the connection with eMed while waiting for the results. Is the eMed service 24/7?

Anchorage/Seward Pre-cruise; Train Questions
PG Cruiser replied to KJ1231's topic in Shore Excursions
I called Royal about this and knowing how much information their phone agents know, I did not get a satisfactory answer. The agent told me that they will only take care of you luggage in Anchorage if you book your train ride to Seward through Royal. -
Flights to home ports for Alaskan cruises

I'm more worried about the luggage making it in time for the next flight. -
Flights to home ports for Alaskan cruises

@twangster, we already discussed this some years ago but I could not find the thread. What train should I take from Anchorage to Seward? Do you have the link to their website? -
Flights to home ports for Alaskan cruises

I try my best not to book flights with very short layover times. I've had friends have their checked baggage delayed. They spent the first two days of our Madrid vacation cycling through the clothes they had in their carry ons. How will delayed baggage be delivered to a cruise ship? -

What are the best airlines to book for Seward and/or Vancouver? Do you use aggregators/multiple airlines? -
I’m looking to book an Alaska cruise for next year. What has your experience been in terms of flight prices? Which is cheaper? Seattle? Vancouver? Embark Seattle - Disembark Vancouver? Or vice versa? Embark Seward -Disembark Vancouver? Or vice versa? I’ll be coming from Florida (Jacksonville)

Parking at Port Canaveral for a B2B
PG Cruiser replied to Firefly's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I asked them about this last week. The lady assisting me said I needed to pay for two parking fees, one for each sailing and then place both tickets on the dash for inspectors to see. Unfortunately, because I had a late check in time, I had to park on the roof top (uncovered) -
Agree! I got King Crabs from a restaurant by the port. One of the priciest meals I've had in my life. ha ha
