  1. Will the lobster quality in the New England cruises be any different?
  2. What would you say would be the busiest time for embarkation?
  3. I can relate. I leave my wallet in the room safe while on board. I find myself tapping on my back pocket to check for the wallet many times during the day.
  4. Same here, I prefer the card. The only time I used the WOW band was to open my stateroom door. At the MDR and most bars on the Harmony, I was asked to take off the WOW band for them to scan whenever I ordered a drink... not very convenient.
  5. I don't expect guests to be germophobes but I do expect everyone to practice the most basic hygiene and food safety principles. WARNING: THIS MAY BE GROSS On my recent sailing, someone in the Windjammer on the Ovation picked his nose and then proceeded to hold the serving spoon to get his food. I often wish I had gloves while getting my food at the WJ for this reason. Even if they had already done the "washy-washy" at the entrance, you'll never know what they've gotten on their hands once inside.
  6. I don't like having the luggage tags on my bags when I fly to the port. With the plastic sleeves, it's very easy to attach them at the port. Not only that, if it were raining on embarkation day, I don't have to worry about soaked/damaged luggage tags.
  7. From my "guesstimation", your view would be obstructed by the bow/helipad.
  8. They have recently changed itineraries to include another stop at Coco Cay instead of a sea day. Are you on one of those sailings? If so, the app might not have been updated yet.
  9. Only if they haven’t met their sales quota
  10. I think I have good editing skills too. ?
  11. ... and Royal takes all the flak for disease outbreaks!
  12. I've seen signs like this in the Windjammer
  13. Mariner seems to have this problem with table assignments. We had 8 staterooms/families in our group. I took us several calls to Royal before the sailing to finally get our bookings linked together. For some reason, one or two families were being "unlinked" each time we'd follow up. When we finally get them linked, two other families are unlinked. Maybe that's Royal's version of "musical chairs" Anyway, come Night 1 of the cruise, two families were assigned seats away from our section, like very far away from us. I put on my "Mr. Nice" hat and firmly asked for them to fix it. They did!
  14. Thanks for the info. I mostly stay in Marriott's Category 3 hotels - Courtyard, Springhill Suites, Fairfield Inns, and the like. I booked Fairfield Inns for 17,500 just now. It's about 12-13 miles from the Port of Miami.
  15. I'd like to bump this topic for new information. I'm looking for recommendations for a hotel in Miami for a one-night pre-cruise stay. As much as possible, I'd like to stay at a Marriott Bonvoy hotel for loyalty points. I also prefer staying at a hotel that provides shuttle service to the Port of Miami. Of course, if the shuttle service is free, that would be a plus. FYI, I'm not a hotel snob. Views, pools, proximity to nighttime activities, and dining options are not a factor. I just need a clean and decent place to sleep.
  16. I already shared this in another thread. I’m Platinum and while waiting to board on the Ovation in Seattle, I noticed some small signs indicating where the different classes of guests should be seated. But when boarding time came, I was “herded” in the same horde as the Suite and Key guests. Being alone and skipping the pre-boarding photo shoots, I quickly got to the front of the first wave of boarding passengers. This Platinum cruiser was one of the first aboard the ship.
  17. In our case on the Mariner last June, we had an informal agreement that it was going to be one device per family/stateroom with a 4-device VOOM package. No logging in and out of devices.
  18. There are still about 10 ships not listed among those supporting the new app.
  19. Just like @JLMoran said, if Royal raises gratuities, you will be grandfathered in to the old rate. My TA, @StephanieH, said the same thing.
  20. The Ovation must be using an older system. For my sailing last month, I was given a code to log on.
  21. Oh yeah ... I forgot about the birth certificate requirement
