Yes, you can call and have it noted.  I have had two times where I requested the configuration be two twins only to find a king when I got in the cabin.  The steward will always introduce him or herself before the muster drill.  If the configuration of the beds, or anything else in the cabin, hasn't met my needs, I just ask them then and the issue has always been taken care of by the time we were done with dinner.

I took a number of night shots from different angles.  Some are long exposure to blur the reflections in the water.  The first one is a normal exposure.  I tried experimenting with zooming during the long exposure on some.
I can't decide which I like the most so here are some of the best ones.

I totally get your question.  When I booked my 1st Alaska cruise I approached it on that basis - if I'm going to do Alaska once, all my research said to do it right and put a little more effort into booking it one way.  
I prefer the Southbound one-way in a large part due to the train.  What an amazing way to set the tone for the cruise.  Then there are the extra ports plus longer times in some of them.   To be fair I have not done a Northbound one way.  Ending in Vancouver is easy.  Cheap transfer to airport or a great city to explore post cruise if you wish.  
When I booked the RCLBlog group cruise out of Seattle I thought I was settling for a lesser Alaskan experience (based on my research).  I was wrong.  It was a great Alaska cruise and not just because of the group.  
Let me put it this way - if I could, I'd go one-way more than Seattle.  As a repeat Alaska cruiser or for anyone who is intimidated by the logistics of a one way, a Seattle round trip provides a great Alaskan experience.  My next and 4th Alaska cruise is Seattle based (for now).  
If you can, either way, add a few days to explore Seattle, Anchorage and/or Vancouver.  You won't be disappointed.  
There is no wrong way to cruise Alaska.   YOLO, book it.

I loved ISP last year and I really enjoyed it again this year.  This port never seems to make it on the Seattle round trip itineraries despite being very close to Juneau and South of Skagway.  I like this port enough I may cancel my 2019 Ovation booking and look at doing another one-way.  The friends I will cruise with next year will definitely enjoy this port.  It's uniquely Alaskan without the commercialization yet with modern luxuries, great food and very friendly locals.

Then there is the PARTIAL CLOSURE OF BERLIN'S SCHÖNEFELD AIRPORT for a toy.  A certain kind of toy.  In someone's luggage.  Google it.

I often see a lot of confusion between Cabanas, Beach Bungalows and Beach Loungers.  This will change with Perfect Day and the addition of over water cabanas but if nothing else this post will document what was here before Perfect Day.
First let's look at Cabanas. 
The Cabanas area:



The cabanas were moved prior to my last visit so that the Cabanas could have direct beach and water access. Historically they were not water front.  This area is largely unchanged from my 2017 summer visit.
 
I asked the Cabana check in person if I could zip in for a few pictures and she said it was okay.
There are two rows of Cabanas.  The front row has a deck in front of the cabanas, the back row has a deck beside the cabanas.

Each cabanas is pretty much equally equipped, location is the only difference.






Floating mats are included.



There is also a separate lounger area near the bar in this private area.
