  1. Nope. I like to watch and laugh, I don't usually join in.
  2. The one time we did the Quest someone brought in a couple of <18 kids (don't really remember their ages). The announcer warned then very emphatically that it was not appropriate. They stayed anyway, at least for a little while. They left pretty quickly. If you are ok with your 16 yo seeing strange women partially naked, with an occasional boob shot and lots of undergarments, then maybe it's ok.
  3. It's been so long since ships have had Quest that don't remember if it requires a reservation or if it is a "just show up" venue. I know it is not on the app. Does anyone know?
  4. I wonder if RC gives special rates (or a free cruise) to a priest if they agree to perform mass.
  5. Since when does a 4 night cruise in a balcony room for two cost $3500?
  6. That happened to me. It took my wife 20 years to convince me to go on a cruise. There was no way that I could see myself having fun in the middle of the ocean. I now have 5 cruises since the end of 2018 (remember, covid took a big chunk out of my cruisability) under my belt and have 3 more scheduled. Woohoo.
  7. This is beginning to be repetitious. It seems that every day for the last few days someone with 1 RCB post on their profile makes a huge rant and then ghosts everyone.
  8. That's good news. Did you get off the ship and do an excursion, such as the sloths?
  9. I will be traveling to Roatan, Honduras on Mar 1, 2023 on Allure OTS. It has recently been brought to my attention that there are still Covid entry requirements for Roatan. Honestly, I thought all of these had gone away, but I would like to verify with the knowledgeable people here. I am sure that many people have visited Roatan since the restart. It seems that 1) Vaccinated people do not need a recent Covid test 2) Unvaccinated people require a recent Covid test 3) Whether vaccinated or not, you have to apply for an immigration precheck form at https://prechequeo.inm.gob.hn. Is this information true? Is there a cost for the precheck form? TIA
  10. I gave this thread a bad title. I was talking about buying a Thermal Pass, which is a pass that allows me to so to the spa, use the sauna, heated benches and other such things. I do not think this is a separate suite. I do think there is such a thing as a Thermal Suite, but I think that it is just a suite that comes with a Thermal Pass. Sorry for the confusion.
  11. Where is the naughty room on Allure OTS?
  12. Hi all. I plan on bringing my two bottles of wine per cabin on my upcoming cruise. In the past I have lugged these around on embarkation day in a backpack. I recently hurt my back and don't want to aggravate it more. Two bottles of wine get heavy after a few hours. I know it is against the rules but I plan to put the wine (in liquid proof wine bags) in my checked bag, knowing that it will probably get sent to the naughty room. How am I notified that I need to go there to get my bag and show them that it is just wine?
  13. I am sailing on Allure OTS in about 40 days. I have been watching the Cruise Compass section, looking for an updated CC that reflects the cruises that are now leaving from Galveston. The last CC I see is from Oct 15, 2022, before Allure moved to Texas. If you have a newer CC, could you please upload? Thanks.
  14. They are PDF files. Just download and they should print nicely.
  15. I have heard that Foster's is not highly thought of in Oz. Only popular at Outback Steakhouse because it's Australian. Is that true?
  16. On my first cruise, on Mariner OTS, I did a ship's tour. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot but it is one of those 'one and done' things, for me.
  17. We did the escape room on Mariner OTS and loved it. That was pre-pandemic, though
  18. I like to walk on the strand and the dock front area. If you like trains there's a very good railroad museum. Moody gardens. If you like airplanes there is the Lone Star Flight Museum.
  19. OK. Thanks. I'm not going to worry about it
  20. I have been on a number of RC ships and carried on the two bottles of wine that are allowed. The rules state that there will be a corkage fee charged but I have never had that fee applied. Have things changed after the return-to-sail and are they now charging $15 a bottle just to unscrew the top?
