  1. We have never brought formal wear. I'm on vacay. Chinos, chino shorts, and polos.
  2. Perhaps alerting the Port Authority, as well? And, take screen shots before he can pull them down.
  3. @RBRSKI We have not done an Alaska itinerary. This will be our first (of many, I'm sure). We like the more active (get out in nature) itineraries and Alaska will definitely fit the bill! Looking forward to July 2020 for a Canada/New England itinerary for the same reasons. Got our seats reserved on our flight TO Anchorage. I think it was @twangster who suggested to select seats on the stern side of the airplane to get a great view of the mountains coming into ANC, so was able to do that. Still waiting on return flight from Vancouver. I've noticed that the first week United posts their flights, the price is high, then when they release the next week(s) of flights, the previous week(s) price decreases relative to the departure date (at some point the price does increase again).
  4. Gots to have me some of that Kraken rum. Gots to.
  5. Nooooooooooooooooooo! Tears of sadness. . . . (That is NOT sarcasm!) Are they not enforcing it?
  6. Our TA offered us the train transfers yesterday, as a matter of fact. We had already reserved the Goldstar service so that we could get to Seward before noon. Still haven't figured out the flight out of Vancouver/Seattle or anything related to the back end of the trip.We are on the 7/19/19 southbound sailing.
  7. Given your user name/handle, I think that is hilarious!
  8. So, it begs the question. . . What if one person gets the 3 night dining package. . . And. . . Shares. . . No? They didn't re-write the drink package for me, but am curious. If it's not allowed, then it's not allowed. (Cant believe I'm asking this question. . . I look like "that" cruiser.)
  9. Yes, that's the kicker in the equation (the reason for my question). Will it be worth it? Does your average Izumi Sushi patron use up that $35 credit?
  10. Please compare these two scenarios: First night done right $20 + one night at Izumi (not hibachi) + dinner at chops grill $35/pp or 3 night dining package $75/pp It's the Izumi Sushi that's throwing me. . .
  11. @mom2mybugs Wishing you and your family well. Trip insurance and a great TA are very reassuring when life happens.
  12. Still, I'm seeing the price drops on Sundays, not seemingly to be related to the sales. Stateroom pricing is very dynamic.
  13. Update. Okay, so I'm a knuckle head. My savings after everything was un-applied or applied, as applicable, the net savings was $107. THIS is EXACTLY why I have my travel agent protecting me from myself! ?
  14. It seems that when I check my Alaska Southbound booking On SUNDAYS, the price of our stateroom (Owner's Suite) goes down considerably compared to checking on other days of the week. Since the time of our initial booking, I'm down over $1800, after taking into consideration the OBCs. Even though sales may or may not affect your particular sailing, still mock-up a booking for your exact sailing and stateroom category and see if your stateroom category price has DECREASED (make sure you consider the OBC). If it has, call or email your TA right away. Also, if you have used your OBCs in the cruise planner, may want to cancel and re-book those on your CC (BEFORE your TA re-books your stateroom) so you don't lose your excursion, dining, or spa rezis in the event you can re-book. We are 334 days from sailing.
  15. @RBRSKIYes, further south than the Lake. Very crowded place, now. It was a nice place in its day. We prefer the woods and streams. A la the Mark Twain NF.
  16. Yep, we are still 336 days out from embarkation day. So, I've probably got another weekend before I can reserve the return.
  17. Agreed. We are doing the soundbound next summer on Radiance. Not interested in the whale watching (if we see them, super), we will be stream fishing at each port. ?
  18. Just made our flight rezis to ANC. From YVR hasn't been released, yet. I couldn't reserve my seats, yet, on United. They said it was "too early". Begs the question, "then why open the booking"? They've already chosen the aircraft!
  19. There needs to be an emoji for "oh". ? There it is. Okay, 6 nights it is! Let's do it! July 2020 New England/Canada! @Matt
  20. Good deal! I did further research. The Grandview train is the one offered through Royal. It does not have Goldstar service (meals and 2 bar drinks included - Mimosa, anyone? It's 645 AM!). Also, the Goldstar service from Alaska Railroad (booking direct with www.alaskatrain.com) will get you at Seward by 11:30am or so. The Grandview train, offered by Royal, has you arriving later in the day 4/4:30pm. Grandview RCCL info: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/contentWithHero.do?pagename=us_direct_grandview_transfer Alaska Railroad Goldstar service info: https://www.alaskatrain.com/service/goldstar-dome.html I just received my confirmation email (about 4 hours from when I booked): Thank you for your booking with AlaskaTrain.com. We are in the final weeks of completing our 2018 summer season and are preparing to launch our 2019 reservation system the first week of October. Your reservation has been confirmed. We will process your payment, and email your confirmation and itinerary on October 2nd. Because of the Goldstar service, the domed cars, and early arrival, we will forgo the ANC airport check-in. So, hopefully, we're good to go! @twangster I think between the two of us, we're coming up with some outstanding Alaska cruise itineraries!!
  21. So, really there are TWO trains? One booked through RCCL (above) and then the other (not pictured?), booked through Alaska Railroad? For the train that is not booked through the cruiseline, how close to the cruise terminal does it get you? The reason for my asking all this, is that I really like the idea of checking in for the whole day ONCE at ANC airport (train and cruise). Love that last pic!
  22. @twangster Yes, I reserved online with the Alaska Railroad. Would you have preferred the airport train/cruise check-in? How is that reserved? By the time we board the train in ANC, we will have been in ANC for 3 days. Perhaps my internal clock will still be ahead by an hour or two. Hopefully. ?
  23. Thought you'd be interested in that the Alaska train from ANC to Seward for July 2019 is now taking rezis. Just reserved our dome tickets! We're trying to figure out what to do in Vancouver. Was hoping to catch a Whitecaps match, but (looking out this far, yes) it doesn't look like they play on Fridays, anyway. Good to see the Marriott Pinnacle is taking rezis for July 2019. I wish the airlines would let us book out this far, too.
