  1. I always just throw a few in my suitcase...light weight and then i have them...of course i forgot to bring them home last trip!! Jane
  2. I bring a 3 or 6 (camt remember which offhand) adapter that plugs right in and had 2 usb outlets. That lets us charge the cameras, ipods, and phones (that i only use for apps and camera and alarm) . I use a tiny battery click to have just for quick reference. Jane
  3. I did not go to disney until 1992, when i saved babysitting money while my dh was in grad school. I hyperventilated when i saw the castle and have now been 17 times! It is my happiest place on earth, and only rc ships keep me from going every year. I have been to universal once to take in harry potter and that was amazing. I think doing it on your own if you fly in and out of Orlando is very doable and easier than packaging rc. We flew into mco, and didn't do disney, but you could do disney bus service and then find an uber or shuttle to the airport and then transfer, or even easier, rent a car and drop it at port canaveral. Jane
  4. Its minor and silly, but i had a pool waiter that learned my name, constantly came to my deck chair to check on me (during a busy sea day), and let me run a drink pkg tab until the very last drink (i didn't have to keep signing every drink). It was just a nice day that he made nicer! Jane
  5. Ooh...those are really good...especially because they are so light compared to all the heavy food and drink all week. Jane
  6. Hey, there was a Johnny rockets at six flags great America today (local amusement park), but it wasn't nearly as much fun to eat at as on a cruise ship! Jane
  7. Except that rc won't do this at the price you usually can buy them on day 4. They make a lot more money on the pkgs, and the cards are a way to make up revenue on sailings where alcohol purchases have been low. My guess is that if you sell the punch card for 120 ($12 a drink), people won't buy them. Maybe I'm totally wrong...they pre-sell the coffee cards now. And if someone still wants the unlimited drink pkg, then you still have the sharing issue. Jane
  8. Its going to be a pretty moot point for us...i definitely get the drink pkg, my husband wasn't going to for freedom in march, and was going to ala carte and buy the drink and coffee cards. Prob this will cost 5 to 10 a day extra for us. I agree, the sharing is awful, but over the past year royal seems to be aligning itself with other cruise line policies (room service fee, corkage fee, now drink pkgs). Will this make me jump ship so to speak? No, but it does make me think that if my bar tab is half my cruise fare, then i need to drink less or possibly try a line that includes it. But i have loved my royal cruises...all 3 of them...and drink issues or no, look forward to the next! Jane
  9. Labadee is included in the drink pkg, including labadoozies (just not in any sort of souvenir cup). Jane
  10. Ok im soooo waiting to hear info about this! Jane
  11. But we would all buy them! But then id have to keep shifting my sea pass btw that and my red wings lanyard! Decisions, decisions.... Jane
  12. I have a few i liked. The last ones i bought for the cruise i found at a huge store inside the port canaveral port! They had sports teams, colleges etc. Im sure you can find them on amazon as well. Jealous of your disney cruise one! Jane
  13. Ive been following this. Our spring break is usually the last or 2nd to lay week in march. For this reason, ive avoided itineraries that stored in key west and bahamas because i was worried about if it works be warm enough. I think i will stick to the farther south ports at that time of year! Jane
  14. I think it depends on time of day too...we went early and had maybe a 5 minute wait on that last sea day. I think our best time was dinner when we came back from the beach in aruba...we ate a late dinner right before sail away...no lines and didn't have a long dinner in mdr. Jane
  15. Is the all access tour worth it if we are already doing a galley tour with chefs table? We are on freedom and im thinking we should wait and do it on another ship when we don't do chefs table (or like on adventure where the galley tour wasnt included in chefs table). Jane
  16. ok...Now im really ranging off topic, but everything is clean, etc? So you just lay on a bench and they do your back, neck etc? Ive not even done one in the states but i have lower back tightness all the time and i think it would be wonderful Did you have any trouble with booking it the day of? I didn't book it with the reservation because i was trying to figure out if i should get one! Jane
  17. I really enjoyed freedom last time...it had some bells but i worry about the insane possible crowds on oasis class. I love my deck chair by the sky bar and i hate to fight millions of people for a seat. I have never gone to falmouth but would like to go once. Last time in cozumel we did the dolphin swim which was amazing. We almost went to that park again, but i want to try nachi! Jane
  18. I have never done the massages anywhere and i think i would love them. It was worth the $40? Jane
  19. Another one is ita matrix. Ive just decided though im not good at searching airlines! Sigh....
  20. Great price. I wish southwest flew out of ohare! Lately american has been our best options in terms of convenience but not necessarily the cheapest. Im starting to try and price now for the January half marathon at disney...need to fly in and out of Orlando but those prices are better than in Dec or march. Jane
  21. You won't have to drag a car seat. If you are comfortable with holding her for those distances necessary, then you will be fine. Jane
  22. I actually liked the food at Johnny rockets. The fries and onion rings were great and the burger was cooked well. I think after a week of eating steak and other more gourmet fare, i was ready to slum it and eat a burger. It was also an easy place to finally meet up with my 13 year old and grab a late lunch that wasn't buffet food. Jane
  23. I found it to be fine, but with brewed coffee, not only is it subjective but sometimes it is just better than other times. The coffee at Cafe promenade at 8 am is different than at 10, etc. I don't remember it to be horrible or great. If you aren't worried about catching a sale, you can wait till you are on the ship and try it. Otherwise i defer to other coffee connoisseurs here to give you a stronger opinion! Jane
  24. I am so excited! Just booked this today for our match cruise on freedom. Im looking forward to the beautiful beach and no crowds. Aruba was beautiful but by the middle of the day you couldn't see the water because it was full of people! I like the no vendors too! Can't wait till march...only 1 more chicago winter to go! Jane
