  1. Could this be an offshoot of the change from calendar days (ending at 11:59 p.m.) to 5:00 a.m. to 4:59 a.m. being the window for use of vouchers?
  2. OR... Book now and watch for price drops between now and final payment.
  3. We plan a standard amount regardless of the excursion cost. We assume that many tours will have a guide and a driver and tip each separately. When a guide is particularly good, the amount of the tip goes up. We have never dipped below our default tip amount per person.
  4. How many vouchers to get a pitcher? Or was it cost of a pitcher minus $14 for a single voucher?
  5. Chocolate covered strawberries is a waste of both chocolate AND strawberries.
  6. I think they leave them alone because it's better to leave the food that we DON'T want alone than to discard something we DO intend to eat later and will be disappointed to miss out on. Example - the elusive Ranger cookies which often show up just once per cruise. If we had several of those sitting on a plate to have as a snack and they disappeared it would be a huge disappointment. Note: when we have something we want to be sure is available later, we do not leave it sitting out where it could potentially be cleared away.
  7. I was 0-for-every bar on Explorer more than once by the time I resorted to providing my own cucumber.
  8. On last year's three cruises, I made it a goal to never repeat a drink (20 nights with my Diamond vouchers and some that my wife didn't use added up to 87 different drinks, many of which were completely new to me). Cool as a Cucumber was one that was on my list for the final cruise. Every bar I tried was telling me they couldn't make it because they had no cucumbers. On one of the last days of the cruise, I grabbed a cup full of cucumber pieces from the WJ buffet at lunch time and took them with me to the bar on the way to dinner. The bartender got quite a kick out of me supplying my own cucumber so I could have the drink.
  9. Our grandchildren have C&A numbers listed on the invoices for their B2B trip this June.
  10. We did it in 2003 so the not-overly-large number of people (about 20 total) at the time may no longer be the case.
  11. It specifically calls out on 5+ night cruises. Has that always been the case? And how do they treat a B2B that covers 7 nights - as two cruises that are both unable to get the perk (I expect this to be the case) or as 7 nights meeting the 5+ rule?
  12. It's the least he could do since you let him sleep in.
  13. Be careful, though. They might still be cleaning the decks at that time and your stuff could get quite wet!
  14. Over the course of all the cruises I've been on, I would estimate that I actually heard more than half of an announcement less than half of the times that announcements were made. Most seem to happen while in our stateroom and by the time you get the door open so you can actually HEAR what's being said, the announcement is almost over.
  15. A toiletry kit seems to have replace beach towel and slippers at the 175 point level and the limit on tote bags at 340 was reduced from 2 per household to 1 per household.
  16. With the change, maybe it's a good thing that my wife's block from last summer wasn't available. Hopefully this means she'll get the new version when follow ups are successful.
  17. In my experience, some folks arrive SIGNIFICANTLY early. At Seattle, the port workers were walking along the line calling for people with 11:00-11:30 times to move forward and enter the terminal building. The looks on the faces of the people who thought they would be first into the terminal because they were first in line (but had later arrival times) were priceless.
  18. The individual cruise will show as 1 point in past cruises but is very likely to be properly credited in your points total. We had three cruises under the old system and they show as one point each on the past cruises page but we have 22 points (3x7 plus the random 1 point they added) for those included in our total points.
  19. Then you'll want to be sure to request a remote with CC capability as soon after boarding as possible. It may be worth contacting Royal's special needs group and requesting it in advance (like one would do for requesting an extension cord for a CPAP or a medical refrigerator for medications requiring refrigeration).
  20. As @smokeybandit suggests, using a good old-fashioned computer for the check-in process is better than using the app if you want to separate things. We only use the app at just past midnight on the first possible check-in date to secure our preferred boarding time, then go back on a computer to fill in everything else (much easier to type passport numbers and credit card information with a keyboard than a phone).
  21. Nothing to apologize about. Based on the small number of posts associated with your account, it just seemed like you may not have noticed more pages (which is exactly what happened).
  22. There are a number of photos in the thread. Seeing them made up our minds about purchasing some. Make sure you check all three pages for more info.
  23. We use daily separated boxes and bring pictures of the original bottles just in case (asked about it or unexpectedly need to have something filled).
