  1. Sailing across the gulf today and thinking about the time spent looking and purchasing excursions at the least expensive price. I had the least expensive prices for 6 excursions in Grand Cayman (3x2 people) and all obviously canceled. Then because my wife and daughter had their hearts set on swimming with dolphins they decided to cancel the Tulum Ruins/beach break that I had the least expensive price on. Instead my wife and daughter are doing the dolphin “thing ” at full price and my son and I decided to do the Xplor with 13 zip lines... I’m psyched for that even if it was $209 pp. Bottom line - I spent time at least every other day for the last 5 months looking at the cruise planner all for naught ? And the TP-Link works great....
  2. We left a little after 12 noon. Rhapsody is right behind us. Brilliance is skipping Grand Cayman and going right to Cozumel.... 3 sea days, 1 Port.
  3. Thanks, twangster. If we don’t leave til 10 tomorrow, any guess to a change in the itinerary? Can we make Grand Cayman in 21 hours? Or is it 2 cruising days to Cozumel?
  4. Brilliance and Rhapsody still docked in Tampa and no ETA when we will depart due to fog.... In 2018 you would think they could sail using electronics - like planes in the clouds? Not sure at what point we’ll lose ports.... Grand Cayman after a cruising day and then Cozumel with another cruising day before returning to Tampa is the itinerary
  5. We’re in Brilliance now. Went to NextCruise today and got a price $300 more for 9 of us in 3 cabins. I guess that gets offset by the $100 OBC for the cabin.... I’ll work with Michelle instead....
  6. Yeah - you get 30% off because they are in the same room - kids or not. I'm looking to save on grandkids - 3 and 2 . Kills me to pay full fare for them. I don't have to pull them out of school buy my wife work in a school.... NextCruise was worthless today. The estimate was $300 MORE than the MEI estimate I got this week. When I asked about OBC was give $100 per cabin which basically makes the deal the same.... No need to book now, that for certain.....
  7. I see MEI has the same deal on their website now. @michelle - any more details on "kids sail for less"?
  8. I asked the same thing a couple days ago and posted the latest "NextCruise" information. You get on board credit/discounts that may not be the same as the current deal on the website. Still looking for an answer to "Kids Sail For Less" and what that means since I'm assuming less is not free. We sail Saturday and I am looking at a 7 day cruise on 1/4/2020 and Europe the summer of 2020. Will follow up with the deals offered onboard this weekend. Here is the info for NextCruise through 1/31/19: http://www.royalonboardsales.com/#seeoffer Flyer: http://www.royalonboardsales.com/content/assets/2015/05/18065762_NextCruise_JanuaryOffer_Flyer.pdf Highlights:
  9. Glad I saw your update - I had purchased this for our cruise beginning Saturday and just canceled the order. Just made a note to stop at the bank on Friday....
  10. We made final payment last week so wouldn't be surprised to get "the special email". Probably while we're on Brilliance next week.... If we get Miami or Freeport we'll probably stay on the boat.... I have cabana reserved on CC so was just going to be a relaxing beach day...
  11. +1 for Radiance for the ports. We did Southbound without a land piece attached (we went to Seattle for a couple nights after). My in-laws did the land first and said they definite;y preferred the land piece first because it was more intense as far as the schedule goes - up and out early, bags packed and ready each morning. So they felt liek they got the intense part first and then relaxed for a week while cruising. I can't wait to go back some day!
  12. 3 days til we sail and I am gathering information for a possible post-holiday cruise next year. The Next Cruise info has been posted on the RCCL website: http://www.royalonboardsales.com/#seeoffer And you can download the flyer here: http://www.royalonboardsales.com/content/assets/2015/05/18065762_NextCruise_JanuaryOffer_Flyer.pdf I scoured the details but don't see what "KIDS SAIL FOR LESS" actually means! We have a 3- and a 2-year-old and this could make or break the deal!
  13. Unlike most - our first cruise was to Alaska so when I learned that the others tended to be (alot!) less expensive it was only natural to start booking a cruise quarterly for the next year. I got word last night from my wife - "NO MORE CRUISES!". But hoping she changes her mind when we're on Brilliance next week so I can book another Caribbean for 1/4/2020.
  14. Yeah - I received it via email and then there was a link to view it in a browser. This is the 1st Edition and wish I had it before our Alaska cruise last year ?
  15. Kind of an odd title for RCCL's new "publication". It looks like maybe they'll focus on a different port in each edition. The first one is for Juneau.
  16. No. I purchased for our 3-night and it was $24.99 x 2 x 3 = $144.94
  17. Greta info! Thanks! Unless something happens between now and 12/28 I will let it be assigned to MEI - assuming DW goes for it!
  18. Looking at recent Cruise Compass's they all seem to have "up to" $600 OBC. Some mention $600 in savings OR OBC. What do you think is "normal" for a balcony room? And would it apply to all 3 cabins? I only have 2 for this upcoming cruise so in theory the kids could book theirs if the benefits only apply to one cabin. Can you tell I'm already planning the sales pitch for my DW?
  19. So taking the two younger kids (17 & 20) on the holiday cruise on 12/28. If this seems like a good idea for future holidays I am already looking at the a 7-day next January (1/4/20 on Grandeur) and take the whole family (7 adults, 2 wee ones) for less than half of what I'm paying for just 4 of us for a 5-nighter over New Years. We stopped at Next Cruise when we went to Alaska but didn't pull the trigger - but booked 3 more since then ? What can we expect at the Next Cruise desk in a couple weeks? Are the deals really that much better? And then transfer to my MEI TA soon after?
  20. I am looking to book a cruise for January 2020 as a "Christmas" cruise for the whole family. With all kids out of high school now, early January works and is a heckuva lot cheaper than what I'm paying for the holiday cruise this year! Will be visiting "Next Cruise" when we board on 12/28!
  21. Oh well! We have adjoining rooms with a door in between so we can share bathrooms. Would have been nice to share the balcony Thanks! Hopefully we can open up the balconies on Anthem....
