  1. https://travel.gov.gr/#/ Full info here, looks as though test is needed for entry to greece Travellers arriving from Australia, Canada and the United States of America are permitted to enter Greece under the condition that they display one of the following: a) Vaccination certificate (for those who have completed vaccination for COVID-19 at least fourteen (14) days before arrival) valid for 9 months after the completion of the basic vaccination and without time limit for travellers who have received the booster dose. The vaccination certificate must include the full name of the traveller as registered in the passport, the type of vaccine given, the number of doses and inoculation dates, or b) Proof of recovery from SARS-CoV-2 infection, issued 14 days after the day of the first positive COVID-19 test (PCR or Rapid Antigen test) and valid for 180 days thereafter, or c) Negative molecular test for COVID-19 (PCR) performed up to 72 hours before the scheduled arrival, or negative Rapid Antigen test performed up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival.
  2. https://www.salute.gov.it/portale/nuovocoronavirus/dettaglioContenutiNuovoCoronavirus.jsp?lingua=english&id=5412&area=nuovoCoronavirus&menu=vuoto&tab=1 Entry into Italy: Covid-19 green certificates, validity, equivalents and exceptions Fulfilments for entry to Italy The rules for entry into Italy have been updated and simplified. 3. Obviously Finland and Russia share a border and this will be being done as a threat to Finland and Sweden who have expressed their intention to join Nato at the earliest opportunity, even though Russia has warned Finland in the past that this couldnt happen. Just have to wait and see what happens
  4. RC post states that all visitors must fill in this form however when you click the link and read it, it states that the following applies Who has to fill out the Health Control Form? All people who enter Spain from other countries, who do not have an EU Digital COVID Certificate or EU Equivalent. Children under the age of 12 and passengers in international transit do not have to show a certificate or SpTH QR. Each form is personal and non-transferable, and is associated with a single trip. In case the passenger is a minor, or a dependant/disabled person, the form can be completed by their guardian, who will be responsible for the accuracy of the information provided. So if you are from a country that has EU covid digital certificate then its one less thing to worry about.
  5. From spanish gov website, no tests or anything needed for under 12s Children and young people Children under the age of 12 years old do not need to: complete an online Health Control Form before travel show proof of being fully vaccinated on entry to Spain take diagnostic tests prior to arrival show proof of having recovered from prior COVID-19 infection in the last 6 months meet the requirements outlined in the Spanish Ministry of Health ‘Travel and COVID-19’ page, even if they have visited a ‘risk country’ in the previous 14 days
  6. You mention you are in Mexico and they do not vaccinate children under 12 in your email to RC, does this rule apply in Japan also? As you could look into getting vaccine there when you head home before heading back across to Europe for transatlantic?
  7. There are Employment rules in place in that P&O completey ignored. Within hours of making 800 staff redundant they advertised for new staff with no seafaring experience needed ( this breaks all H&S regulations) new staff were employed on low wages however HSE has blocked ships from moving. CEO of P&0 has been reported to some board as an unfit person to hold position and it is recommended that he should be removed. I get what you are saying but lets say a company in US made almost 1000 long serving staff redundant in a half hour zoom call then employed unqualified persons from somewhere in south America the next day for a fraction of the wage. People wouldnt be happy and rightly so however us brits probably wouldnt take much notice because its the other side of the world and doesnt effect us, so what does it matter.
  8. Heathrow is the main Airport and as is mentioned Gatwick is also an option. I believe Jetblue fly to Gatwick. Another option is Dublin with Aer Lingus and then get a connection London. Icelandair via Reykjavik is an option Also changing your settings to sites outside US may find you a better deal.
  9. 100 % agree I had guys from Nepal, Philippines, India and Pakistan to name a few countries working for me in the middle east and while the wages they got there was low, it was still a lot better than they would have got at home, so yeah they are happy and im sure any foreign worker that PO ferries employ will be also, which is more than can be said for the 800 employees they made redundant to enable the hiring of cheap labour. And since we are no longer in the EU we can make our own rules
  10. On the shipmate app there is a lot of this, even more than on here! All negative posts by seasoned cruisers who suddenly appear new to threads and post. Some are hilarious like the 1 star rating for an RC ship because it rained Or another 1 star because ports of call were not very good! Best 1 was someone posted 2 reviews about 2 RC ships they had been on that sailed the same day...both got 1 star reviews. You can buy reviews! Good and bad. If you want to help your company you buy good reviews if you want to tarnish the reputation of a competitor you buy negative reviews. People make a living doing it just got to take posts with a pinch of salt and make your own decisions and opinions.
  11. Hi Sue There is a thread dated March 24th that discussed this topic. Not sure how to link it but im sure someone will help out
  12. I had the same issue, I cancelled my cruise at beginning of Jan and waited and waited, you read on these threads about it taking up to 3 month. Like yourself as time passed i became more anxious due to timescale involed. I contacted TA at beginning of March and after a few days i recieved a reply showing me that vouchers had been issued on 18th of Jan with a $0 balance, i received no notice of this at the time from either RC or TA Waited for an update then 8 days ago sent RC a direct email asking what was happening, still no reply from RC to email so i called RC in UK to ask them about it and they said it was a definite error however i needed to call RC in US to get it fixed. This i done on Thursday past,i was told they would need to send an email higher up the chain and this would take a few days. Wasnt accepting this so asked to talk with someone higher as it needed sorted, my original Agent put me on hold then came back after 5 mins to tell me vouchers had been credited with correct values. Anything else Sir? Yes you can stay on the call until i input these vouchers because if they dont work you can fix it. Vouchers were accepted however on checking next morning only 1 voucher was deducted for total, so i called RC in UK and they informed me that 2nd voucher had an issue and had not worked so they inputted it manually. Took 1 month of emails and waiting when a 2hr 12min call to RC US got it sorted but if i hadn't chased this up i would have been unaware of the issues and still waiting for vouchers that would never have arrived. My advice would be to call RC, explain your situation, be nice as shouting the odds or obscenities will get you nowhere and if your not happy with what you are told politey ask to talk with someone higher.
  13. I saw this also but can he make 1 rule for ferry companies and another for cruiselines doing the same thing? Thats the problem because it could potentially stop cruiselines using UK as a homeport for ships.
  14. This was the statement my minister. While the UK was a part of the EU, trade rules set by Brussels would have prevented Britain from barring access for companies based on the continent. In a letter to the P&O chief executive, published today, Mr Shapps warned he was preparring to bring forward a "package of measures" to block the ferry operator's plans. He wrote: "I will be bringing a comprehensive package of measures to Parliament to ensure that seafarers are protected against these types of actions in the way that Parliament and this Government already intended. The use of the word seafarers would imply its for all, if its not then they are leaving themselves open for those it hits hardest to appeal against ruling
  15. Minimum wage is about £9.50 per hour, figures being quoted for Indian crew was about £2 per hour. Indian crews have already joined ships, ships have been barred from sailing so are just sitting in various docks under port arrest.
  16. Some may be aware of an ongoing situation in the UK which kicked off a week or so ago. P&O ferries terminated the contracts of over 800 long serving employee's so they could replace them with crew from countries such as India etc. This is not illegal it's what lots of companies including cruiselines do, they have ships registered in places where they can pay low wages. However the UK Government are extremely pissed about it and are now planning on tightening the rules which will mean ships sailing out of UK must pay all crew UK minimum wage. Its hard to see how they can have 1 rule for 1 and another rule for others doing the same which would mean cruiselines sailing from UK having to pay higher wages for crews.
  17. Was a shock for my wife she thought it was just a trip to Paris! When we flew back to London she was waiting for flight to Aberdeen to appear on the board and it wasnt until we got to check in that she found out we were heading to Singapore, was the same at Singapore and Manila, her head was all over the place in a good way as she hadnt a clue what was happening.
  18. My 2015 Anniversary trip was Aberdeen to Paris via London for 2 days then Paris to Singapore via London for another 2 days, from singapore to Manila for 2 days then down to Mactan for 5 days back to Singapore for 1 day back to london to get a flight to paris for 4 hrs to head back to london then back to Aberdeen, booked everything myself with the help of an Excel spreadsheet lol
  19. If you use a site like skyscanner use the multicity function. Flight 1 US to new delhi Flight 2 Mumbai back to US
  20. Danish government have removed all restrictions and requirements! So you will not need a test to enter Denmark however you may need a test US side so you can get on flight. As things stand right now i believe you would require a test to fly back home, RC will not supply these. Testing centres can be found at various locations in Copenhagen that will give tourists FOC tests.
  21. Simple one for me! As many different countries as possible that i have not visited.
  22. John I have 3 1/2 hrs between landing at LHR and take off on next flight do you reckon thats enough time for test? No luggage to collect as its straight through. Wont be leaving Terminal 5. Can get the same £35 test by same company in Aberdeen for £50. The scotsman in me grudges being ripped off £15
  23. This is for March next year, i dont mind long layovers as it give me a chance to explore new places even if only for a few hours
