Most of the companies already took the risk and started to produce the vaccine getting ready to the time they will get the approval. The issue is that even if it's 90% success I would still like to take a cruise knowing the other got the vaccine also so incase I am in the 10% I will be still safe. Regarding the virus mutation , if the successful vaccine will be the mRNA time as Pfizer and Moderna it will be easier to change the vaccine and adjust it to the mutation. Regarding the effect time of the virus , since most of the phase two which includes enough people , started around July we will have much more information around May June.

I agree, The most complicate thing will be the -94f the vaccine need to be kept during shipment and for sure also how many people would agree to take the vaccine . i do hope to here good news from Moderna soon and even more from one of the companies their vaccine require only 1 shots and need to be kept in normal fridge temperature.

I am missing cruising , so I decided to try and check the numbers with the new vaccine news. Few things we already now : 1. Pfizer can produce up to 100 Million vaccine until the end of the year and around 1.2 B during 2021. 2. Each one require to get two portions of the vaccine in 28 days. 3. The Pfizer vaccine require to be kept in -94 f 4. Moderna vaccine is similar to the Pfizer one , both are based on RNA. Assumptions : 1. Moderna will announce soon on the test results its expected to be more and less like Pfizer. 2. Moderna will be able to produce more and less the same numbers of vaccine portions but their issue will be with shipments (Pfizer invested in special freezing systems) 3. Not all the vaccine portion will go to the US , I estimate 50% of it will go to other countries per agreements unless the US government will force them to first distribute it only in the US. 4. First only the first responders and medical workers will get the vaccine , later teachers , people with health risk and then the public population. 5. Some expert say you need to have 60% of the people vaccine to get the herd effect some says 90% I have created this graph which shows the ability to give vaccine to the US population with the assumption of 10% better production of the vaccine every month and 5% better ability to distribute it . On the graph you can see : 1. Pfizer only (50% to the US). 2. Pfizer and Moderna. 3. Pfizer Moderna and a non freeze vaccine (based on regular vaccine system). 4. All the 3 if the US decide to keep all vaccine portion in the US for the first year. I did not took the 90% success factor in but you can estimate it will have a one month effect I also added the 60 and 90 % of the US population so you can see when in theory the herd effect happens , when the horizontal lines cross with the other lines its the month we should have the herd effect. I wonder if it's just for cruises that starts in the US ports or all ports ? Asking for a friend who wonders about the 8 nights GC cruise from the UK ? Although there it will be easy to cancel the overnight port they planned and make it a 7 day cruise

The cruise will be a 3 day cruise, lets hope it will be a good experience and will pave the road for RCL cruises which suppose to start in Singapore next month.

For how many people , One of the option if it is up to 20 people is maybe to book the Chef table ...

This is very good news , It means that people will not need to find a way to do the test and hope that results will come on time but RCL will do so , might save allot of issues (including arguing if a certain lab is certified or not)

Very interesting , thank you . As evacuation and treatment going to be very expensive I wonder if the cruise line will not force everyone to buy health insurance that covers it . For testing on board , as you said , they might do daily tests but the will combine the samples per floor or section on the ship , if the results will be positive they can quarantine this section until repeat the test , this time individual to find the right people. that can save allot of money and time.

Well most of the times I am booking using the US site but I think you are right the policy is per the embarkation port. I tried to book the same package for my Oasis cruise and it added the 18% It's was saying on the anthem cruise gratuity already included. Maybe UK low.

Just took it , still 46 PP and the nice thing , no 18% surprise at the end ... I guess they did not know its a GC , otherwise they would have double the price ? , now we just need this C19 to go away or at least a vaccine available.

Over here (outside of US) to be able and take a fight you need to bring a C19 test. At first you could have done it as part of the health care system (without paying) but now they have changed it and you need to pay around 85$ it is being done at the travel clinics (were you get vaccine if you want to travel to places that requires it). Results are back in 24 hours or less but to get the test you should show a prove of a flight and a passport. As far as I know there is a certified FDA fast test (less than 30 second ) there is also another approved test , like the PCR one but that can be done with smaller equipment and gives fast results. I believe RCL and NCL will signed a contract with several labs which will allow people that will show cruise tickets to take a test and get fast results. Still , I am sure at the first cruises there will be lots of issues , not everyone will get results on time and not all people will be allowed to embark but it will become better. All until the C19 vaccine will be common enough.

We suppose to leave at Symphony on the 12 of Dec , on the app I am getting a message that check in is only open on the 25-Sep while from the site its allowing me to start the process (which I think I might do before getting a 6 PM check in time ? ) Royal IT , go figure .

Its near the Solarium and also works more and less like the solarium bistro , small dishes are buffet style (when buffet was not consider a bad word ? ) and you can choose the main dish , menu of the main dish was not changed during the 7 days cruise.

Not sure it is the same in Quantum of the Seas , but in Spectrum you have two CK , one is the sliver for JS and one is for the Gold for the rest of the suites and also rooms that are defined as gold (they can be regular balcony one but with the benefits of gold)

I think they do not really wants answers they just use it as a way to show people why they have the no cruise order , it's just a "positive" way to explain their act

I did a L&S to our cruise around May , did not got the CP refunds , Called them today and they told me it was added to my cruise payment ! After 10 minutes they got back to me and told me it will be refund and I can expect 30 to 45 days from today ... so I guess its quite common "glitch"

Hi , Here you can see 3 live blogs on the same routes , feel free to ask any questions , in Capri there the top of the mountain location were you take a cable car , they have a nice coffee shops and wonderful view , it is most of the time more quire from the other places in Capri .: The first one you can find a tour to Rome using the bus and coming back with a train Here you can find travel to Capri , I do suggest to take the tour from the ship , you can do it cheaper by yourself but the lines will kill you

I think the issue might be very simple : If you ask CDC as an health organization they will tell you that the best way to fight the C19 (or any other virus) is to close everything , everyone will stay at home and the army will bring the food and water. few weeks/month like that and everything will be OK. On the other hand you have the local business and others organization that are pushing to open everything so the economy can recover. Theme parks = lots of local jobs and taxes at the parks/hotels/restaurants/laundries and many other business. They have someone to shout and push on their behalf. The cruise industry dose not have this , they do not pay taxes in the US and the number of local jobs they provide are limited. That is why the CDC allowing other things to be open while keep the cruise shut, Its not because they hate cruising they just could not keep all the other things close ...

From technical perspective only its depends on the ship. Ships that still use the code system I guess no issue but other ships which use the user system might be an issue. You create a user and password which is per the stateroom than you when you login it will reduce 1 device from the 4 , next one will reduce another one until you get to 0. Once you are using all the devices the next person that will log in without doing logout first will kick the first one that entered.

No need to put in Jail You can just deny access from them to some places same as you can cutoff someone from drinking PKG. I do hope they will find better ways to handle the C19 on Ships , but I think it better to cruise with some restrictions than not to cruise at all.
