Ouch! that's a bit too much for a resort for a day! You can stay on the ship and cost you nothing!!

I did get lucky however, my neighbor gave us scratch offs and we won $50.00!!! that doesn't even by a week of zoom, but it bought the dog food for the week!

thanks so much @WAAAYTOOO. Fortunately, I am familiar with most of the Caribbean hotels and I know for the most part which ones to avoid. I lived in Jamaica and you can rest assured I would not get off the ship should I end up there! Just my opinion, been there done that. LOL

Yes, there's an actual website called resortsforaday.com specifically geared toward cruise passengers, they are in almost every port. alot of very nice resorts too. I'll think about it, have some time. Are you still doing MSC ??

Because Hubby loves the beach! LOL. I agree, would rather stay on board, but was thinking of only a few times going to nice hotel. For instance, I've been to Nassau a thousand times, husband has not but three cruises we are booked on, we are going there. I was thinking regarding their reputation (Resorts for a Day) more than anything. Happy New Year by the way Sabrina!!

This may be a stupid question, but has anyone used Resort for a Day in some ports? there are some ports we are going to a few times in the next year to 2 years and I have been to most and was thinking just a relaxing afternoon at a beautiful hotel would be nice too. Of course you can always stay on the ship too and have it to yourself! LOL Thank you in advance!

This is the exact reason I'm booked on 5 Celebrity (yes same company) and only one RCCL (that one is non-refundable). Yes Celebrity too has now a non-refund policy, but they offer a choice, so I pay the $200 extra to make it refundable. You never know what life holds so I would much rather not have to lose a dime if I don't have to. I also so take the insurance as well.

And don't forget the menus!! One of the dirtiest thing even on land whether on a cruise or restaurant. I always wash my hands AFTER ordering from a menu. Maybe I really am OCD! LOL

I saw the NCL raised theirs to $20.00 per day! Yikes!!

LOL!!! I have my wish list complete, prepaid all gratuities. However, I'm still holding out for a Sept 2019 sailing possibly if I win the lottery!!

I saw the rescue online. I am thrilled to hopefully be sailing with her this September unless she is on the Equinox by then (she's going to Equinox, Equinox Captain going to the Edge) and if not September, will see her on the Equinox in January and April 2019! She is such an amazing person!

OMG! You sound so calm writing this, I would have been out of my mind! I'm just glad you got your luggage eventually! Thank god it wasn't when the power went out last week, probably no rentals available! So glad you made the best out of what could have been a horrible situation!

I just want to say my prayers for those who were on the bus in Mexico with the Equinox and Serenade passengers. My heart is going out to everyone who may have lost a loved one or injured. Many prayers going out to those families.

For us too, but I'm finding the holidays are getting more and more stressful! I think it's a fantasy to say "Buy buy everyone, going on a cruise"! But we love our families and would be feeling severely guilty! Trying to convince them to do it with us, but young nieces, nephews etc as I'm sure you have prohibits it for now.

I keep looking Sabrina, it is sooooo expensive and the cruise snobs that we are, looking at suites is out of the question! (unless of course I retire and it's my gift to myself!) I would love to do it once wouldn't you??? so I too will once again live vicariously through @twangster

I used to have my own too for diving, but gave that up! Having worked and traveled the Caribbean in past life, I have to agree totally with you, "yeah mon, we santitized it for sure! LOL

Do you take your own snorkel too? I know it's being paranoid, but you just never know!!

Wow, it's not just me!! I was going to ask if people wipe down their stateroom, door handles remotes etc as I am planning on doing that! Having traveled for 20 years in hotel sales and seeing just the grime on airport escalators is enough to make your skin crawl! Sabrina, which wipes are good for Noro Virus? And ONE MORE Paranoid question!! Does anyone take their own Snorkel and Mask with them on Cruises? I know some say they are santized on the tours, but I don't necessarily trust this either! LOL!
