  1. I don't think anyone was questioning that. There's a reason the earliest check-in times fill up first. One of my goals on nearly every cruise is to take a scoop of untouched paella from embarkation day WJ lunch.
  2. We had a great time at Nohoch Kay in Costa Maya in 2019. It's a smaller all-inclusive beach club that may look more "hole-in-the-wall-esque" but it had amazing food, good drinks, and a very relaxed vibe. Definitely not a place to party. It was small enough that I got to chatting with the manager for a bit. He asked what type of food I liked and when I replied seafood, he said he'd have the chef make me something off the menu (which was plenty fine as-is with standard Mexican fare). I wound up with a delicious garlicky shrimp dish over rice. My other memory was the dog that seemingly lived there. He took a nap in the sand under my lounge chair for at least an hour, thankful for the shade provided by me in addition to the palapa (palm umbrella that comes with every 2 loungers). Glancing at their website, they seem to have added a few things like short snorkel trips for an additional fee. We'll be in Costa Maya in June with extended family so we're not going back this time but would definitely go back in the future. As for Roatan, sadly we could not dock there on that 2019 cruise due to high winds. My wife and I were pretty upset as we had never been there before and had a private tour set up with Rony of Rony's Tours (he was great to connect with ahead of time via e-mail to personalize our tour) that involved going to one of the sloth/monkey options, stopping somewhere to snorkel, grabbing a quick bite to eat, and seeing his local town and school. His website had a very long list of options and he/your driver will basically take you wherever you want in your private car). It was especially sad b/c my wife (now a teacher of 23 years) had collected so many school supplies from her fellow teachers to donate to Rony that she filled a large duffel bag that must have weighed 30-40 lbs. (it had wheels and was very old so we were fine leaving it there). We ended up explaining our dilemma to guest services and we wound up in a back office with some sort of customs officer who had us fill out forms and he said they would hold onto the bag and as long as Rony (or someone on his behalf) would come get it, they would drop it off on the ship's next planned stop in Roatan in a couple weeks. Anyway, that's my long-winded 2 cents. I have heard nothing but good things about Maya Chan and I know some other tour operators are much bigger in Roatan so I figured I would share some alternatives. The best analogy I can come with is that these were like smaller mom n pop restaurants compared to bigger chains.
  3. There are tables for 10 (can't vouch for every ship in the fleet but one was right next to our table of 8 on Harmony last May). Whether or not one is available is, of course, another story.
  4. There were threads here and/or elsewhere a week or two ago about this glitch. It was actually $183.99 for my Wonder cruise in June (but of course you couldn't book it).
  5. The "deals" have been so bad (especially from Florida) not sure it's worth bumping, lol.
  6. WJ "takeout" for snacks like this, morning pastries, or a dessert plate is underrated IMO.
  7. The Wow Bands are optional. You can buy them but everyone still gets and needs a Sea Pass card.
  8. They would lose way more revenue if they skipped Coco Cay... not happening.
  9. If they skip/shorten Nassau they'll be doing you a favor. Joking aside, hope it works out OK for you.
  10. My family suggested this last summer (but we didn't do it) and are again considering it for our June cruise on Wonder. It was never appealing to me for exactly the reason you mentioned. I'm not an MDR fan to begin with so I don't see how it wouldn't be even worse if they have to deliver it.
  11. Kids' vouchers cannot be used for anything alcoholic. My young nieces enjoy going to the bar for virgin daiquiris (tbh, the older one developed a problem last family cruise).
  12. Agree with others, not worth it IMO. There is food everywhere virtually 24/7, no need for extra to be sitting in your cabin (except for the cookies, of course, one can never have too many RC cookies).
  13. Probably later today but don't freak out if they're late; it happens.
  14. We almost always book GTY's. One thing you should know, after your cabin has been officially assigned (this can be anywhere from a month or more in advance to the day you sail), you can call and ask to be switched to any other cabin in the SAME EXACT category if any are available. If you're not aware, all interiors aren't the same, all ocean view balconies aren't the same, etc. If you have a 2B you can only switch to a 2B. This takes some of the gamble out of booking GTY's and I have moved mine more often than not (sometimes more than once for the same cruise).
  15. Yes, it's free other than possibly a couple upgraded entree options if they still offer them.
  16. Ignore the $ and % numbers. They mess around with the base rates and other math so the headline title of the "sale" is almost irrelevant. Honestly, the best way to find a deal is to just keep checking cruises you are interested in frequently.
  17. Yes, this is normal. You get a discount by booking ahead rather than onboard. You can always cancel and receive a refund but there is a cutoff of something like 48 hours prior to your reserved meal.
  18. So nice, isn't it? I can get home in about an hour.
  19. Wonder always sails from Terminal 1 which is a breeze.
  20. Thanks. I figured I could price it myself somehow but I'm not a ride share user (and lazy so I asked you). Given the price of parking at the terminal, it's really not a bad option.
  21. The ziploc bag of cookies I collect and replenish from around the ship so that I always have them in my cabin would never allow for that, lol.
  22. Happy hour is 3 hours of open bar, not just beer/wine.
  23. I'm not a stalker, I promise, I just do live very close to you (my wife works at an elementary school in Winter Garden). Do you get picked up at your house? If so, may I ask how much Lyft costs? We always drive but have only been on ships leaving from Terminal 1 and we get there early so it has always been a breeze for us.
  24. There was a midnight buffet one night on 7-night cruises (or longer I assume) a very very long time ago.
