Some photos from the ice show. Video clips on IG shortly. This show was well done. Similar themes to the shows on HM/SY/WN where there is some central character that takes you through time/or in this case elements. But good special effects and the oval rink allowed the skaters to come in from more directions. 

This Mod is blogging from bed. After the ice show, we went back to the shops and ended up with 3 more hoodies/sweatshirts. At that point, I said to Hubby, we are out of control with the clothing this trip (between here and Vuori yesterday). I don’t even know how we are fitting all this stuff when we leave. So we went back to the cabin to prevent further damage. 😂

Random sail away photos. Fireworks were a nice touch, longer than I expected. But you could not see them well because they did not (or maybe could not) wait until it got dark. 

Quite possibly..it's also there's a ton of places to stuff people around the ship. Nothing has been crowded so far.

Suite welcome letter mentions the 5pm-8pm Suite Lounge Happy Hour but not the 11am-11pm soda/beer/wine.  The bartender didn't know and had to call someone to verify. 
The lounge is laid out very weirdly. It's right in the front entrance to Coastal Kitchen but then wraps around to the left side and to the back corner of the area.  There are some prime real estate seats that have floor to ceiling views of the aquadome.

And here is proof that I did in fact eat in the WJ. 😂 I would eat here more often if every WJ meal was like this!

Rooms were ready when we boarded..they were giving out complimentary champagne in the Promenade.  We went to drop off our carryon in the room..and swag and C&A amenities were on the bed.

Hubby said maybe we need to forget about the S2S 😂

We are counting on it! That is one of the reasons why we are excited, we want our swag lol

I'm just glad that I'm going on the group cruise on Icon in June so I get a second week on her. I'm realizing more and more what a big deal this ship is. My only other inaugural was Wonder and that was pretty low key relative to the hubbub surrounding this.  Makes me more anxious than excited 
I feel like it will be a struggle to do and see anything despite having a suite and all I feel like these extra cost items at the complimentary places won't be covered under the dining package..and there isn't any new specialty restaurant to try. We are in a suite so Coastal Kitchen and the Grove might be the way to go over UDP..and I'm especially worried about being told "no" hurting my mother's feelings. 😬

Many of you know that I was on fence with this sailing for the longest time. Even after we made final payment, I still could not find the excitement for this class of ship. And then over December with my Dad's health, I thought I would be cancelling (still could, I feel like every cruise is a game time decision these days).
But yesterday morning, watching live, as Icon rolled into Miami, with my beloved Intercontinental in the backdrop, that is when I first felt a twinge of excitement for this ship. And then, like you said, entertainment opened up yesterday, and now seeing some of the content that has been posted today, I am pretty excited too!
The icing on the cake will be if I can get the heck out of Surfside lol

She definitely will..I need her generosity to even be on this sailing 😂
I have UDP so I hope to report back. Of course with new menus and a picky eater in my party, should be tons of fun 😒

This is funny. I can tell too lol. We will all try to hold it together. I also will have VOOM.
Safe to say I probably won’t be anywhere near the WJ on this one. Maybe if Hubby will leave the FlowRider, I can tell him to snap a few. He already met some people on this Odyssey sailing that are also on the Icon inaugural. Shockingly he never made it into the WJ on OY.

Marla….where do I begin? 
 
I have heard many wonderful things through the years about Marla. It was such a blessing to be able to not just meet her, but sail with her, and get to know her. The rumours are true, Marla is wonderful. She is such a happy and genuine person, full of energy and laughter, who clearly has a passion for what she does.
 
It did not take her very long to read the different personalities in our group. She was great with the kids, and I will treasure some of our chats. She definitely read our survey as there were things she surprised us with that she would not have known otherwise. 
We are going to miss Marla dearly. Hoping to see her again in the near future 😉
