  1. Here's an overview of the dining packages: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/01/28/spotlight-royal-caribbean-dining-packages It will depend on what package you book, which if you are planning on more than 1 dinner it is much more economical, on the larger packages they book the first dinner for you, either the first night or second night. When you board the ship you can change this at one of the restaurants.
  2. My Time Dinning (MTD) you should be able to book, but if you have traditional dinning you should already know your dinning time, but there is a time frame of 90 to 70 something days ahead of your cruise before certain things will open up for booking on line. This could all change with a Travel agent involved with your sister, I don't use Travel agent so I have no history to comment with. You can always transfer your reservation to your sisters TA and let them deal with it for you. I do know that on separate bookings especially if the last name is different, you want to link your reservations together.
  3. Look at the very top banner of this page and you will see "Cruise Compass" click on it, you will have to search through all of the Harmony CC until you find one that includes the stops you want, because I believe Harmony has multiple Eastern Caribbean itineraries.
  4. Jane, stole my thunder, I was going to say that the MDR is big and can be noisy, so by going to one of the specialty restaurants you are getting a smaller much more quaint experience. The MDR is dinning for the masses (Still very good in my opinion) and the specialty is just a little step up, say like going from Outback to Ruth's Chris, both very good for their niche market. As stated above, if you don't like something, send it back and try something different...
  5. I'm sorry you had such a terrible experience with the food on Liberty, My wife and I were just on her the first week of June, and my dinning experiences were much different, we went to Chops once, Giovanni's table once and Sabor twice, MDR the other nights. I will admit that the specialty dinning is on a different level than the MDR, but, everything we had in the MDR was acceptable and/or very good. I went to Windjammer for every breakfast and Lunch and was not disappointed, I ate a lot of my lunches at the Asian station along with a salad and everything was always fresh and had good flavor, I even commented on this forum about how good the pastries were. I didn't try to eat any hamburgers so I cannot comment on that, also I don't drink, so I cannot comment on that. I would say that I will be disappointed if service offerings have changed that much in a little over a month. In all fairness maybe it has to do with expectations...
  6. This should help explain and answer your questions. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/05/19/first-time-cruisers-what-you-need-know-about-gratuities-royal-caribbean
  7. To answer your question, yes. Below was posted by Matt in another thread of the same topic. "Here's an overview of the dining packages: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/01/28/spotlight-royal-caribbean-dining-packages"
  8. Liberty in June 2017 had a live band by the pool, they were actually really good.
  9. Two things can drive this, consumer spending and RCCL share holders. If the consumers don't like it then they won't spend the money, odds are people will keep buying the package. I have a co-worker that is in RCCL target demographics, he drinks his wife does not, he only buys won package, he told me that if he has to buy 2 packages he won't buy any. So if enough cruisers stop buying that will affect Share holder value, and then the share holders bitch, which I know RCCL should lieted to. I wish those of us that are share holders as well as RCCL consumers had a load enough voice, but traditionally large corporations only listen to the large Institutional share holders, those company's that hold millions of shares, instead of the few hundred I have.
  10. I wonder if it has something to do with the ship size, I was just on Liberty in June and my tags had 6 sections, forward, middle and aft, starboard and port, I was in a JS, starboard side, front and that is where my colored block is with the deck number.
  11. 100% agreement, I don't drink but if I did I would think it was cheating to supply drinks for two people off of one package. I'm Diamond, so my wife and I get 3 drinks each per night and I don't think I would even use this courtesy to get my wife extra drinks, she never drinks more than three drinks anyway so I've never had to worry. I guess last year she might have when we were on Harmony in the Mediterranean, we kept going to the Trellis bar in Central park and getting her favorite Moscato, towards the end of the cruise when the bartender would see us walk up he would already have it poured and would not even ask for her card because he knew we were Diamond, and yes we did tip him well. My point is that this type of cheating is similar to shop lifting, in the long run it cost us "Ordinary Citizens" more because of what someone else does illegally, you guys don't blast me, I'm not saying the two are anywhere close to being the same thing, I'm just trying to make a point, I'll get off my soap box now...
  12. Last Fall my wife and I spent 5 days in Cozumel, we love the island and didn't feel like we had enough time to fully appreciate it on a cruise stop, with that said, from a port shopping stand point, I think the port shopping next door where Carnival docks is a better shopping center. My wife and I walked from the hotel down there last year and bought a ton of gifts for our Grand kids. It seems like it is better laid out, there is a Ponchos that has amazing shrimp tacos just like the one downtown, a large Cinco Soles and a Ron Jon's if you collect that brand. I kills me to say that Carnival does something better than RCCL...
  13. The below was posted by Matt in another thread basically about the same thing, it should answer your questions. You will need to address your 3 nights once you board, RCCL will not try and do it for you. "Here's an overview of the dining packages: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2016/01/28/spotlight-royal-caribbean-dining-packages"
  14. Thanks Matt, I should not assume they are all the same. I just had the 3 night package in early June and was responding from that experience not realizing the BOGO was different.
  15. Like JL said, heavy port load that day, Nachi limits to 100 people, I've been to both and keep returning to Nachi because it is laid back and quite, Sancho's is a more lively party atmosphere, so it will depend on what you are looking for.
  16. It should ask you if you want the 1st night or the 2nd night when booking, what this is asking is what night to you want your 1st meal, I think it also ask you a time, with that said RCCL then picks your 1st restaurant for you and you will not know which one until you get on-board. When you board, go as quick as you can to one of the specialty restaurants, and ask which restraint was chosen for you, if you don't like it you can then change it. You can also pick/change the other dinners at the same time. I always have a list of preferences and nights written down of when and where I want to eat, worst case scenario is the time you want isn't available, so be prepared to juggle a little, especially if you plan on attending shows.
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QVhvu7hFH4&feature=youtu.be Had to find the video, if you watch off and on during the video they are standing on what I call a sand bar, which I guess is a sand island, but you can see it and the boat in the video.
  18. I don't know this for sure, hopefully someone will add comments, but I believe if you have the drink package it works on Labadee, except maybe for the Labadozie (Spelling), so why spend money to go buy drinks? I also watched a video of a group that went to the little island, and it looked like a big party, so if that is your thing go for it.
  19. I was told that even though it looks like they are filtering the water, that they really aren't and that the water is disgusting, that is from a person the used to work at one of those places. So no way would I stick my feet in there, but if you are interested, there used to be one on the main road heading in to town, if you were to take off walking from the pier like you were walking downtown, there are some little shops between the road and the water.
  20. Depending on the size of dinning package, 3, 4, etc.nights, it should ask you if you want the 1st night or the 2nd night, what this is asking is what night to you want your 1st meal, I think it also ask you a time, with that said RCCL then picks your 1st restaurant for you and you will not know which one until you get on-board. When you board, go as quick as you can to one of the specialty restaurants, and ask which restraint was chosen for you, if you don't like it you can then change it. You can also pick/change the other dinners at the same time. I'm OCD, so I always have a list of preferences and nights written down of when and where I want to eat, worst case scenario is the time you want isn't available, so be prepared to juggle a little, especially if you plan on attending shows.
  21. AT&T also used to have an APP that would help you locate free WiFi on the places you were visiting, I'm not sure since they went to this $10 a day if they still have that APP or not.
  22. I have also been told the same thing by the porters at the dock.
  23. I can't give you a ball park figure, but the Cruise Compass gives you that information every night before you go to bed so if you want to get up and watch the sun rise and the ship dock you can, disembarkation time is also listed.
  24. We had a similar discussion on here earlier this year, I think the answer to streaming was no, nobody thought the experience would be good, if it is already loaded to your device you should be OK, our discussion was around Apple TV I think. Monorailmedic, is the defecto tech guru for the post, so hopefully he will comment.
