U.S. Territorial Waters Question - Baltimore

The casino isn't open on the departure day sailing from Baltimore because the evening is spent in U.S. Territorial Waters.

How late into the night is the ship usually in U.S. waters?

It gets into the Ocean around Midnight of Day 1.  The problem with the casino's isn't the fact that you're in US waters ..... It's more an issue with Maryland and Virginia laws.  The same is true with the shops n Deck 6.

I was in bed by the time we left US water.

This is consistent with her position report on marinetraffic.com as she makes her way to Bermuda having just left Baltimore.  This position was received 23h ago and her speed was 19.8 kn so estimating her position at midnight would have her very close to crossing beyond the territorial boundary at that time.

If I recall .... assuming you leave Baltimore at 4:00 .... the approximate times are as follows

5:00 -- Go Under Key Bridge

6:00 -- Go under Chesapeake Bay Bridges

10:00 -- Cross into Virginia

Midnight -- Out in the Ocean ....

As @twangster put it --- you go to sleep in the Bay -- you wake up in the Ocean
