FManke
I've read mixed comments online and would like the all knowing members of this site to give me a definitive answer. If you've booked a shore excursion through RC, do you get priority in line, for leaving the ship at port and on the tenders? This is supposed to be one of the perks, of booking directly through RC. I've read about people missing excursions, or running late because of the long lines, especially at ports that need to be tendered to, such as Bar Harbor, ME. tiny260
I can't remember what size ship you are on for this, but usually on a tendered port the shore excursions meet up someplace on the ship and then go off together, one time we meet in the Ice Rink and one time at the theater, but I think those were both Oasis class. At a docked port, you get off and meet on the dock. So I think it will matter what size ship you are on. My brain is to old...

FManke
So you board the tenders as a group? Do you by-pass everybody else, just waiting on their own?
DocLC
More than likely, they'll be running to sets of tenders, one for those on excursions and one for those in their own. If you're on a ship excursion, you'll meet somewhere onboard, like the theater, and then be escorted to a tender as a group. Be prepared to wait, though. Upon return, there's only one line; no priority is given to anyone.

I'm really only concerned with Bar Harbor because of the tender situation. We dock at 8 and our excursion starts at 9. Our other excursions in Halifax and St John, start 30min after docking. I think those should be ok. RobertJaf

tiny260
Thanks @DocLC, I was beginning to second guess myself and really couldn't remember, last time I tendered in was 2013 when I was visiting Belize. Been to long. @FManke , wasn't ignoring you, was hoping someone would remember better than I was. DocLC

It will state the meeting location (always the main theater or a lounge for tender ports) and the time. Note that the meeting time will be earlier than the scheduled departure time of your tour to accommodate the tendering and meeting times. I'd anticipate the printed meeting time being up to an hour before the start time of the tour.

RestingBird
We had an excursion in Bar Harbor through RC. We went to the theatre and got a ticket with a group number then proceeded off the ship, met the group on the dock after being tendered in.
