Should there be another tier in the Crown & Anchor loyalty program?

The current state of the loyalty program isn't an accident or reached by some inadvertent mistake along the way.

The current state of the loyalty program is where it is because that is what Royal wants it to be.  

Furthermore I'm betting Royal wants it to scale higher, not lower.  They don't intend to cut it back, they desire it to scale to 10x what it is today.  

To get there Royal needs to remove components of the program that restrict that growth from occurring.  You can't create a room large to accommodate the scale that Royal hopes to achieve with the CAS.  The lounge has got to go.

All this talk about something between D+ and Pin got me thinking.

Maybe what's needed is a level ABOVE Pinnacle. Call it the Super Mario.

When i started my first cruise with Royal I looked at the teir levels and thought they looked skewed then. Then after Covid when they doubled thier points more people became Diamond Plus then I believe they thought would. This is now creating tension when Diamonds are not granted access to previously available amenities that on our last voyage was limited to Plus and Pinnacle. It even went so far that a “guard” was placed at the door to check sea-pass cards. That said there should be a reevaluation of tiers adding a tier smack in the middle of Plus and Pinnacle, call it Anchor. Additionally you should really be honoring those Pinnacles that are so high within their own tier by rewarding them “Pinnacle Crown”. I only started cruising about three years ago as I have water issues but fell in love with Royal and remain with them over others. I’ll never achieve Plus let alone Pinnacle at my age, but those who will should be acknowledged and rewarded by adding two tiers Anchor(?) and Pinnacle Crown.

That’s my thought….
