AandD
I don't know how many people have been to Maya Chan Beach, but we went our 4th time last fall. We did notice the beach wasnt as big as it used to be. But the food and service were still great. Here is a post from the owners. RFar92
When is the best time to go to Maya Chan to avoid the majority of the seaweed? Or is it more random? WAAAYTOOO
jbrinkm
We were scheduled to go for the first time last April and it was cancelled for the sargassum by the owners but then we were unable to dock anyway because of wind. I feel like it starts to move in in the spring and gets worse in the summer, but I could be wrong. I know that I though we had a pretty good chance of beating it in early April but that didn't work out - however, last year was the year that the giant blob was in the area so it could have just been a particularly bad year. I do know that Maya Chan closes down in the summer, partly because of it. RFar92
