Boomerdjl
Just got off of Vision of the Seas and loved the smaller ship. Can you tell me about Grandeur of the Seas? I believe it is also a smaller ship.
TexanTwoStep
We sailed Grandeur on our first cruise last year (my wife and I, no kids) and we loved it! She's the oldest and smallest ship in the fleet and shows her age in some places, but we loved the crew, food and atmosphere. It's also great because you can embark/disembark a lot easier than on one of the bigger ships. I personally enjoyed sailing on Grandeur better than Voyager (the only two ships I've been on, so I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than myself will post). Personally, I won't even consider an Oasis class at the moment because I'd be so overwhelmed with the amount of things to do, fear of missing out, and being around that many people all the time. We stayed in an aft junior suite on Grandeur (8588 if I'm remembering correctly) and it was amazing. Huge balcony, amazing sailaway views, and our cabin attendant was very nice. All the bars on Grandeur were a lot of fun and there was always SOMETHING to do. We played a lot of trivia and my wife won Sudoku challenge every day of the trip, lol. So if you're wanting a traditional cruising experience with way less bells and whistles, Grandeur will be for you. I'm sure it's very similar to Vision OTS JustMeJoe, Mike.s, Neesa and 2 others
Mary Sue
Agree with everything TexanTwoStep said. Loved it and we would go on her again in a heartbeat. TexanTwoStep and JustMeJoe 1
suna
Grandeur is very similar to Vision. We plan our vacation by choosing the small ships, we are only missing trips on radiance (september) and rhapsody (03/2025), and to an other extend, independance (december). We returned from oasis two weeks ago, our first big one. We always seek the quiet places on the ship and did find some on oasis! The service on small ships is more personalized, staff recognize you if you happen to go to the same bar two times, which is not always the case on big one. Ampurp85
Having started with Voyager class and mainly doing Oasis, I really disliked Grandeur. Staff was wonderful and she is beautiful, but I wouldn't sail her again. Her casino is small and stuffy, while the shows are dated, and food/food options are abysmal. She smelled of sewage and the interior rooms have no space or even a cooler. Staying in higher room categories might make the difference for some. BJohnson
Before we cruise we love to get on YouTube and look at the ship that people will post. A lot of people will do a tour and some will go into detail of what they liked and disliked. It really helps us, so when we get on we feel we have already sailed on it. Hope this helps. instaGator
As @BJohnson said, there are many great video tours. Here is one from March of this year: https://youtu.be/puPPfJP_BU4 Since you liked Vision, you will like Grandeur. JustMeJoe
