Wheeler825
Gooood afternoon. Recently booked a free interior room via casino royale. I'm wondering how they calculate room prices for upgrades? For example: I booked and was able to pick my room, and the same room type is currently $426(per person). When I look at balconies, they are currently $720(per person). Is it a straight up calculation (before taxes) that an upgrade should cost me (720-426)*2 = $588. Or is it based on the supposed price discounted? Looking at my invoice, it shows 'Cruise Fare' at $656 per person.. which would put at balcony at (720-588)*2 = $264 Can anyone explain their math? AshleyDillo
You pay the difference in the casino rate for what you want to upgrade to and the casino rate for the comped room. It's difficult to use the website to figure it out because some of the sales can't be combined with the casino rates. Ampurp85
WAAAYTOOO
It’s really not possible to determine what your upgrade charge will be as it’s a secret squirrel algorithm that incorporates parameters that we cannot see….primarily based on your gaming performance on your last cruise. You really just have to call to get an upgrade quote. I’m nearly always surprised at the quote as it’s usually less than I think it will be (the good kind of surprise). A lot also depends on the ship as most of the older ships have far fewer upgraded cabins than do the newer ships. Bottom line- you just won’t know until you call. Congratulations on your comp. It’s a great way to climb the C&A ladder. DoomSlayer
Wlhoeft
I went on 3 comped casino cruises since the restart. On 5 day Mariner, I upgraded to balcony for 68.00 total for the cabin. On 4 day Explorer, same price for upgrade to balcony. Last cruise on 4 day Brilliance, it cost 350.00 to upgrade to balcony. You have to call casino to upgrade. When dealing with the casino always call Club Royale. The regular Royal reps won't have access to the casino information. The casino as @WAAAYTOOO stated has their own system. Even in the one case I added a cabin to a cruise booked through the casino, they quoted me a cheaper price than the regular reps. DoomSlayer
As others have said, go through the Club Royale route for upgrades. I have done several cruises via casino comp offers and have been happy with the prices they give.
