VicB
Is it better to book a Spa experience before the cruise on the cruise planner, or will they have deals once in board?
Cactus527
I booked a spa experience via the cruise planner because I thought maybe it would be a better price. When I got on board, it was the same price, all I had done was reserve a certain day and time at that price. The prices offered for some "packages" (multiple spa offerings put together) on port days were actually a really great deal (not available pre-cruise). Hope that helps! WAAAYTOOO
Agree with @Cactus527. The spa is the single exception to the “book-before-boarding” rule. The onboard “sales” are likely to beat Cruise Planner pricing almost every time. The only time I would say book early is if you have to have your treatment on a specific day or time. As a general rule, the best “deals” for the spa are on port days and sea days are usually the more expensive and least likely to be on “sale”. amanalo217
You can also get discounts based on your C&A level. If you go to the spa raffle on day 1 they usually have some package deals offered and you may win some on board credit for one of the services. I even got a $50 spa credit on a card from my cabin steward on my last cruise. Cactus527 and VicB 1

Randon1234
Might be a dumb question, but do you have to book an appointment to go into the spa area? Never been, but is there a sauna or anything that is complementary?

I believe the sauna/thermal area is available first-come/first-serve, so by all means, go when you want. Randon1234

I did not know this.
amanalo217
I've always had to pay for the pass. They do offer free tours of the area but that didn't include use of the spa.

Was on Serenade earlier this year and they had a Thermal Suite you had to pay for but also had a sauna that was separate that was free. She Sails Away
I have found that the spas generally offer specials once you're on board, especially towards the final part of the week. On my last cruise, (Enchantment ) on the second to last day, spa staff was standing outside the dining room telling everyone they were having a big sale and offering discounts on the spot.
