Michael Vitale
Has anyone begun considering a place to stay in Ft Lauderdale for the GC ?? I'm flying in Thursday, so I'll need 2 nights. Recommendations ? Ideas ? Groupon is offering some places. Not too familiar with Ft Lauderdale.
PRC
I've stayed at all the joints on 17th street. Hyatt pier 66, Hilton marina, Renaissance, HI Express, Extended Stay, Embassy suites. All are good places. if you're flying the hyatt pier 66 is over the big bridge from everything else so it will be quite a hike or a cab, but from the others everything is walking distance to all the shops and eateries and quite safe. I think Matt was investigating a group rate somewhere but i don't know where that stands or if its still a possibility.
WAAAYTOOO
This is the one in September on Harmony ? We're flying into and out of Miami vs FLL due to better schedule and cost and will probably stay at the Hard Rock like we usually do but no reservations quite yet. Matt
We're negotiating a rate with a hotel for the group, similar to what we did for the Navigator GC.
tonyfsu21
Hyatt Pier 66 will be closed down by Sept. Developer to knock her down & build condos. Hard Rock is a construction nightmare as they are building the addition (glass guitar shaped hotel) and the outside area w/ all the great restaurants (including Martaranos) closed down until 2019. WAAAYTOOO
Thanks, Tony. I had no idea that HR was doing all of that. Guess there will be a plan B
tonyfsu21
@WAAAYTOOO- Check out Margaritaville Hotel on Hollywood beach. It's a great venue w/ tons of dining choices either in the hotel or on the boardwalk. You could always do a little gambling at the Hard Rock & stay @ Margaritaville! PRC
Cambria's are nice. This would be a good choice! Matt

DocLC
That's a really good price for that hotel. It also has been recently refurbished.
