xchellz
I am sailing on Dec. 15 for 7 nights with Oasis of the Seas and I originally had the Central Park Balcony. I was upgraded to the Ocean View Balcony through Royal Up and I was told I don't get my perks anymore. How is this an upgrade if I am losing things? I cannot find the list online again but I know with the CP Balcony it was something like: a bottle of red wine, a complimentary dinner and casino lessons. Need some info. I was actually excited about my perks and if I knew that I would get nothing, I wouldn't have paid more.
WAAAYTOOO
Yes, the perks that came with booking a CP room will not follow you to the ocean view booking.
twangster
Ocean View have never received a bottle of wine or lunch. You were upgraded to exactly what an Ocean View balcony would get if you booked one from the start. If you had booked an OV Balcony cabin and didn't get these perks how would you feel if someone paid less than you and used Royal Up from a CP balcony but still got the CP perks? Those CP perks were put in place to ease people's fears of booking an internal facing balcony. I understand the desire to have the best of both worlds but it doesn't work that way. I love OV balconies on these ships. It's so much nicer than staring into someone else's cabin.
MikeSD
Bummer and I do agree that it would be nice if RC made it more clear that the perks are tied to the particular stateroom and not the booking. I believe they are giving perks to both Boardwalk and Central Park balconies to alleviate the potential "noise" and lack of privacy.

Royal eliminated the Boardwalk and Central Park balcony perks this year (you must know if you still had them!)... I take it you selected to keep the Dine, Drink, Discover over the $50 OBC when we were given the choice. If you failed to make a choice, it defaulted to the $50 OBC option. We decided to keep the Central Park balcony perks too for our 2021 cruise... I found this flyer online which outlines the old CP balcony perks. A slight tangent, but still related to Royal Up! Am I correct in understanding that if you win a bid to upgrade to a suite, you still will only receive 1 point per evening? That makes sense because, as you mentioned, folks that paid the full price for a suite would be more than a little annoyed! If moving from a JS to a GS you retain suite points. If moving from a non-suite into any form of a suite you retain your non-suite points.
