Kelaine
My daughter and I are booked for the zip line in Labadee (next week!) but I'm concerned about the State Department's travel advisory for Haiti (Level 4- do not travel). How far out of the fenced area will we be traveling and what precautions might be in place to ensure safety during travel?
twangster
It's short ride on a truck up the hill, 3-4 minutes. I wouldn't be concerned about it. RCI employs several hundred locals. This little corner of Haiti prospers because of Labadee. I wouldn't visit anywhere else in the country but wouldn't anticipate any issues there. hooked-on-cruising, tiny260 and Kelaine

Agree with this, did it in January with several Mothers and young kids rode up in the truck with me. To me it was very safe and secure, there are always workers around you, so no worries. Matt
You should have no concerns about the State Department warning and anything in Labadee. Labadee is not only fenced in, but it's also in the middle of nowhere.
