  1. So we know the Empress will be returning to the fleet following a revitalisation. What would you like to see installed or added to the ship? Or what do you think they will add?
  2. At Waterbom Park? Me too! It's gonna be freaky doing it on a ship, but still fun! :)
  3. I'd really appreciate your help, if I haven't managed to find one before then. :)
  4. Hi Float Me, thanks for that. I did see that one on eBay already. I know it's really silly, but that's one of the "older" models and they've since changed the font on the side of the models to look like this... I've managed to collect all of the models with that font (when they've been available) so far. Only a couple more to go! :)
  5. Hi all, I'm hoping someone (or several people), can please help me out if you're going on Indy, Navigator, Adventure or Anthem anytime soon. I collect the ships models that are sold onboard each ship and these are the only four I don't have. If you're going on any of these ships, can I please send you the money to buy me a model and post it to me here in Australia (I know postage is usually around the $30-$40USD amount)? I've been watching eBay religiously in the hopes of finding them and on the very rare occasion that one has come up, people are asking ridiculous amounts for them. If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. I'm happy to chat via PM if that's better for you, or you can email me at [email protected] Thanks! :)
  6. Thanks to Michelle for her help. I'm just waiting for my new model to arrive. I still need Navigator, Adventure & Independence. Can anyone help with these please? :)
  7. Awesome! Thank you Michelle. :) I'm just sending the email to you now. What did you think of the ship? Cheers, Mason
  8. I wish! They should have one in Europe, one in Asia/Australia, and the two remaining ones in the U.S.
  9. You can't always count on getting a cheaper price, even if it is before your final payment is due. A lot of promotions state that if you already hold a booking on a specific sailing, you can't then switch to the cheaper price as part of a new promotion, or even cancel your current booking and rebook at the cheaper price. RCI actually run audits and if they find that you have cancelled out and rebooked to take advantage of a cheaper fare, they can actually revert to your previous fare, or cancel your booking altogether.
  10. Explorer isn't staying in the UK though. She's coming Down Under! Woohoo! :)
  11. Hi Michelle, that'd be great, thank you. I will definitely remind you once we get closer. You're so lucky to be sailing on Quantum. Where will you be sailing to?
  12. I haven't sailed with Azamara yet but they're on my bucket list. I love those small Renaissance ships! :)
  13. Well, being in Australia, it's closer to me than New York, so that makes me happy. I don't see why the U.S. or Europe should get the new ships all the time, so I think it's a great move on RCI's part.
  14. Just bumping this one up (I hope that's okay). Thank you Don for helping me out with Serenade. Can anyone else help please? :)
  15. It's been confirmed today by RCI that Explorer will be repositioning to Australia in November 2015! Woohoo! :)
  16. I've lost track of the number of rumours I've heard about which ship/s is/are replacing Rhapsody. Latest I've heard is that Legend is definitely coming to Australia and may do itineraries out of Brisbane and Fremantle, Radiance is staying, Voyager will be refurbed (which may include being stretched to include new tenders) and we could get either another Voyager or a Freedom class ship, which would spend time in Australian and Asian waters. I have also heard RCI will be going ahead with the long rumoured terminal at Botany Bay and part of the itineraries from this port will involve sailing in and out of Sydney harbour (so people don't miss that experience). Apparently there are all kinds of rumours, as you are well aware. The fact that the release of itineraries has been pushed back several times, it seems to me that they're still trying to lock a few logistic details down. Hopefully we should know by the 14th of April or so.
  17. We're booked on Mariner of the Seas for the 4 night Christmas cruise out of Singapore, and then Voyager from Fremantle to Singapore in April next year. :)
  18. Hi all, I currently collect the ship models that are available for sale onboard each of the ships. My goal is to collect the entire fleet. This is somewhat difficult with me being in Australia and so many ships based all over the world. Where I can, I get them from ebay, but a lot of the models on there are older ones (different writing, logos, etc). I'm trying to collect the models as they currently appear on the ships and am wondering if you're able to help me collect them please? If you're going on an RCI cruise, would it be possible for you to buy one of the ship models and I would transfer the money to you (via paypal or electronic transfer) to cover the cost of the model and the postage to Australia? These are the models I need... Brilliance Serenade Adventure Navigator Mariner Legend Splendour Enchantment Vision and then once they've launched, Quantum and Anthem. Is anyone going on any of these ship soon and able to help out please? I'd appreciate any assistance anyone can give. Thanks, Mason
  19. I've heard a lot of criticism about Rita's Cantina as well. It seems to be the only part of the revitalizations that has received such criticism. I have a feeling Sabor Modern Mexican will eventually be rolled out to replace all the existing Rita's Cantina's across the fleet (much like Giovanni's Table is slowly replacing the remaining Portofino's Restaurants). :)
  20. TGI Friday's or Margaritaville, followed closely by Krispy Kreme! :D
  21. I just wanna do a back-to-back Eastern and Western Caribbean on an Oasis class ship. That's at the top of my bucket list. Closely followed by cruising into Venice and the Greek Isles.
  22. It really depends on whether I've been on a certain ship or not. If I just want to sample a ship, I'd book a 3-day cruise (to nowhere). Otherwise, nothing shorter than 7 days.
  23. Makes me think actually, they've never really had this many new ships on the go at once, have they? In this age of YouTube and what-not, where we expect videos and pictures and as much info as we can get, it's probably a pretty tough balancing act with regards to what info they release and when they release it.
  24. Hi Matt, probably the easiest way to do this is a little copying and pasting from Wikipedia... Bacon is prepared from several different cuts of meat. It is usually made from side and back cuts of pork, except in the United States, where it is almost always prepared from pork belly (typically referred to as "streaky", "fatty", or "American style" outside of the US and Canada). Side bacon, or streaky bacon, comes from pork belly. It is very fatty with long layers of fat running parallel to the rind. This is the most common form of bacon in the United States. So, pretty much, what Americans just call bacon, we refer to as streaky bacon (because there are lots of other types of bacon over here). I like the streaky (ie. fatty) stuff because it has the best flavour, even though it's not really very healthy for you. :)
