  1. I much rather prefer to have the sofa by the slider vs the bed in balcony staterooms.  Is there anyway to figure this out on the Oasis class ships?  We are in 11300 on the Harmony on 5/20/2017.

If some rooms have it one way and others a different way, couldn't you just ask your steward to move it around? Somebody has moved it at some point. They do it for bed configuration.

  2. I was on Harmony the week of March 4 this year.  I have attached a photo of the lunch menu from one day that I ate in the Main Dining Room.  They also had much more on the buffet than I had seen on previous ships.  There was a station with a build-your-own stir-fry and many prepared meats and side items.

A stir-fry station sounds pretty good. I've only heard mention of a build-your-own pasta station before.

  3. If you have My Time Dining, you would reserve it through the Cruise Personalizer on the Royal Caribbean website.  You'll need your reservation number and sail date to access your reservation if it was not booked directly through Royal online.  Click on dining on you should see it there.  Note that the option might not appear until about 90 days out.

If you opted for early or late seating when you booked, there's nothing for you to do.

With MTD, you can make a reservation ahead or daily or just show up and wait for the next available table, correct?

  4. Yes, they do.  You'll find bar soap for the sink and a liquid soap and a shampoo/condition mix in dispensers mounted to the wall of the shower.  I bring my own conditioner as the shampoo doesn't offer enough conditioning for me.  The bar soap and that in the dispensers will be replenished as needed.

Do they offer any other toiletries?

  5. On our cruise on Oasis in December, the sold popcorn and beverages at the back of the theatre for certain shows (Love and Marriage show and the aerial show for sure). It may differ on the type of show and the ship.

I wonder if that is different since it's basically an outdoor theatre?

  6. LOVE the tutti salad....rarely even order off the menu, we just get that!  Last year on LOS they had a sushi bar one day -- glad we got there early.  It was delicious, but the line was to the door when we left.  That was really the only day we ever saw a line; it took time to work through the queue.

The salads do look great and I can understand about the sushi. If it's included, it's going to be popular.

  7. Wore a nice suit and dress shirt with NO tie for formal last month on Brilliance. Perfectly acceptable as others were dressed in polo shirts and slacks and I told the wife I was glad I did not bring the Tuxedo as I would have stuck out as the only one in MDR.

I have to dress up for work so don't feel the need when I'm on vacation.

As I wear button down shirts and Dockers for work, it will be like just another day at work. ONLY THE BEST DAY OF WORK EVER!

  8. I don't know about food, but I loved the Tropical theater on Serenade. It felt very welcoming and comfortable. I actually can't remember the other 2 ship's theaters, Tropical is stuck in my head. I don't want to ruin it for anyone, I'll just say it reminded me of styles a few decades before my time, in a good, clean way.

Looks like a old venue from the golden age of vaudeville or something. Hope the entertainment is as good as the theatre looks. Maybe the snacks should be had before or after the show if people feel that strongly about it. I don't want to be that guy.

  9. These are not movie theaters. Nor is it dinner theater. These are professionals who are working extremely hard at their chosen career who are performing live for the your entertainment. Eating is quite disrespectful to them not to mention to the people sitting around said eater listening to them crunch on Fritos or ooh and ahh at the deliciousness of their chocolate cake.

Everyone should enjoy their dessert before or after they attend the theater.

Thanks for your opinion, but you did not answer the question. Maybe somebody else out there has the answer. And by the way, our ship has a movie theatre.

  10. So I'm a huge fan of dressing up...but we were considering letting my husband be more comfortable on formal night by dress, slack, dress shirt and jacket but NO tie. Can't remember last year, but do a lot of men who are dressed up, actually forgo the tie on formal night?

From what I've read here it runs the gambit from Dockers and a polo, to tuxedos. Someone even mentioned awhile ago that there were going to bring their kilt!

  11. Is the current promotion - 3rd night free- considered a good one? It ends tonight and I'm a newbie looking at my 2nd cruise but not sure if this is so good I need to act asap before it ends tonight!

I think the term "good deal" is all relative. If you believe it is a good deal then it is. You will drive yourself crazy trying to always chase a better deal, believe me. If you're comfortable with the price, book it, sit back, relax and don't think about it again.
