Liberty of the Seas next sail date
BrianAlt replied to Steve L's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
There's also, "cancel for any reason," insurance. Perhaps that's what you should get from now on? Unfortunately, you can't rely on Royal Caribbean's compassion. Be safe! Hope you make it to your cruise. -
I prefer smooth sailing. But a bit of rock is nice to remind you that you're on a ship in the middle of the ocean/sea.

Liberty of the Seas next sail date
BrianAlt replied to Steve L's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
That's terrible, but I'm glad your safe. Have you looked into how to handle a claim with your insurance? Perhaps it's time to look into that. Side note, during Superstorm Sandy we had a cruise that following Friday. The storm hit the hardest by Tuesday. We didn't know if we were going to get to the port or what the condition of our house would be. Thankfully our house didn't take any damage and our power stayed on throughout. We decided to go to the port on Friday. The water had receded by then, but you can see the debris about 4 ft high on the hurricane fence (interesting name!) surrounding the port. Our kids called us and told us the power went out while we were waiting to check in. My daughter said we had to come back. We said, no, deal. 20 minutes later the power was back on. Our insurance wouldn't have covered the situation. We were prepared to bite the bullet if we had to and not sail. Thankfully we were able to. -
I certainly don't wish it on anyone.

When is your next Celebrity/Azamara Cruise?
BrianAlt replied to BrianAlt's topic in Celebrity & SilverSea
Loved my Equinox cruise. Great ship! -
Not that I wish rough seas on anyone, but personally I find it rather fun. Worst I experienced was on a Princess ship on the Mexican Riviera cruise. 2/3 of the passengers were sick AND half the crew!

When is your next Celebrity/Azamara Cruise?
BrianAlt replied to BrianAlt's topic in Celebrity & SilverSea
I have the following cruises booked on Celebrity: Celebrity Reflection: May 28, 2018 Celebrity Edge: March 3, 2019 -
Since the other area ignores non-Royal Caribbean cruises, I figured I'd start one for Celebrity and Azamara. So, what cruises do you all have planned on Celebrity and Azamara? If we get enough, I'll set up a list like is done for Royal Caribbean cruises.

Labor Day Cruise Planner sale?
BrianAlt replied to Wilson's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
There will be a Labor Day sale. Of course the definition of "good" is in the eye of the beholder. -
Sorry, but I think this is the only complaint you have that has any merit. Welcome to the boards???

Nice that they agreed to rebook you for free!

Typical demographic question. Doesn't bother me. It would be smart to have a, "I don't want to answer," option. But I have no issue answering.

Port Canaveral, Border control????
BrianAlt replied to guittech's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Anthem...Bayonne...Port Canaveral...Coco Cay...Nassau...Bayonne Port Canaveral was no big deal. But maybe I didn't notice anything extra. -
I received the survey and filled it out. I don't care about the income demo question. Why not just click the lowest amount and move on?

Hey, can't blame them for trying SOMETHING! It's home office's decision that has tied their hands.

Port Canaveral, Border control????
BrianAlt replied to guittech's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
No. It's just like any other port. You get off. When you get back on you go through security, show ID, etc. -

Agreed. I'm not sure why they didn't do this. I always used it on the forward cruise. We never need it on the current cruise.

I'm personally fine with there being smoking sections. I'm fine with the way things are today. I often walk on "that side" of the pool deck and say to myself, "ugh, why didn't I walk on the other side?" But I live with it and I think those that want to smoke should feel free to do it there.

The main problem was the elimination of the reduced deposit.

You can't compare smoking to eating. Does what someone eats really affect you? Or affect you to the level of someone smoking in your vicinity? Larry Hagman, who supposedly wasn't a very nice person, used to carry with him a small bottle of bubbles. While people were smoking in his vicinity he would blow bubbles in theirs. Would that be acceptable to you?
