I have done that before, it works. But for my upcoming trip I purchased luggage tags from amazon. They are reusable and can be used not just for cruising:
Thanks for that link! These will work great.

Too late! I cruise in a week! Bu NEXT TIME!!!!!!! This time, it's packing tape city!
If you're an Amazon Prime member and order tonight, you should have them within 3 days. I would go for it and use the tape as plan B.

When we dine in the evening, either the MDR or the speciality restaurants, I have the server surprise me. Never want to know what they are bringing and it is fun., They always bring the best.
That's a hell of an idea! Have the "server surprise me". I will definitely try it this coming March 2017. And here I tell all my friends the nice thing about cruising is you only have to decide what you want to eat. Now, that is taken care of too! More time for me to put that drink package to use..... ;)

Book your excursions, dining preference (Main Dining Room or My Time Dining) entertainment now! Do Not wait until you get on board the ship, things you may want to do is booked full. My wife and I always bring our own soap and shampoo even though some is available in the bathroom. I totally agree with Doc, get to the port early and get on board early. Put any meds you may need and a bathing suit in a back pack. That way you can start your cruise adventure early. Your room may not be ready, but, you can still walk around thee ship, check things out, grab a bite to eat and something to drink before the crowds show up. Most importantly....relax and HAVE FUN!!!!!

Too bad it's only rum and gin. We prefer vodka and bourbon. Oh well, just have to exercise my drink package.

We have a 33 drink "budget" based on $10 per drink. This could stretch the budget some. And we are also bringing on two bottles with us, which might cover the days leading up to when they offer the cards... Plus, alcohol is included in Chef's Table -- Probably won't be drinking heavily that day. And we are planning on the Champagne brunch and Galley Tour... More alcohol already included... I'm beginning to think we'll be pleasantly soused.
So Uke, was this for like a 3-5 day cruise?

I always to just put money each month into a savings account leading up to the final payment date of the cruise. Then I charge the total balance to my credit card for the rewards points. When the statement comes, I just pay it off with what I have saved in the cruise savings account.
Are you using a Royal Caribbean credit card? Best card to use for RC charges. The points can be used for on board credit. 10,00 points = $100.00, etc.

Havana would definitely be one port I would take my Passport to disembark.....and know the address of the US Embassy! These cruise offerings will have to be put on my back burner for a couple of years. Let's see how things play out with this destination.
I agree with you. Right now, I just do not think their infrastructure could handle a cruise ship load of tourists at one time. They could probably handle the cigar demand but rum???

For anyone interested, I noticed 3 cruises to Cuba available for booking.

Need more info, when and which cruise line. Thanks.

Thanks WaaayToo. Kind of makes sense.

I know RCCI rotates the shows in the theater on board the Allure. This past February they had "Mamma Mia" and before that "Chicago". Do any of the moderators know or can speculate what show will be offered in April 2018? Also, will "Blue Planet" still be performed? Thanks.
-
We were on the Allure for two weeks btb this past February. First week we had 6:00 seating in the MDR. The food was very good in every respect. The second week we got stuck with My Time Dining. We were shuffled around every night between dining rooms, many dishes were luke warm and had to be sent back. Breakfast and lunch was done at the various dining venues on board to include the Windjammer. I like the Windjammer for the variety of different (nationality) foods served.

AHH! I have a B2B on Allure booked for my honeymoon ... super excited to see that feedback!
Congrats! Great way to do a honeymoon. If you want to know a lot more about the Allure, check this link out. I STRONGLY recommend booking the shows and any excursions you want on line. The "Blue Planet" show will blow your mind, it is awesome.

I couldn't agree more .... now, I haven't been on the Mega-ships .... the largest I've been on was Navigator, which was a lot of fun, but our cruise on Grandeur this past September was by far my favorite ... so much so that we booked the same cruise, cabin, everything, in 2017. -- then Rhapsody in 2018 (same class as Grandeur) -- I suppose one of these days we'll get to the bigger ships though.
When you do go to a mega ship, book a back to back. It will take the first 7 days to see everything on board and the second 7 days to enjoy them! My wife and I did a btb on the Allure this past Feb. I wish we could have booked another week! We were seriously thinking about stowing away, but, we were out of clean clothes....bummer.

I don't know how much time I'll spend in the casino because of the smoke, but I have never won on a ship. What's the best play? Slots? Blackjack? Do you play the max? What strategies do you have? And how much have you won????
Well, I would like to tell you how much I have won, but I'm afraid someone from the IRS may be reading these posts.

I must be missing something, I don't see the voom and drink package.
It's on the cruise planner for a cruise I have booked next March (Serenade)
-
I tried to look at terms and conditons to not avail. I think that might be something we do if we can share! We are not big drinkers so the drink packages are not worth it. We buy a drink a day or so. This would be nice as I love iced coffee!
I would recommend a call to RC and ask one of the "brand specialist".
-
the prices are all updated now!
I just checked, the prices don't seem to show very much of a discount. The "Sip & Stream" package looks like a good deal. The deluxe drink package and VOOM internet service for 1 person is $49.00 per day, plus gratuity. The drink package alone is $44.00.

We will have a day in St Kitts, and I was thinking of using it to go to Nevis. We have never been to either places. Theres only 1 excursions that includes Nevis and its the " day trip to Nevis with lunch". Are we better off booking this, or just figuring it out on our own? The reviews on the excursion aren't great, do I'd like to see what other options or recommendations I can get.
We did this excursion a few years ago. It was just ok. Try this link out, they may have something more for St. Kitts: http://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/

A lot of the excursions are listed as 20% off... yet the prices are the sale as before.hopefully it'll be fixed!
I just checked my cruise planner for the Serenade next March, no 20% off deals mentioned. Perhaps Cyber Monday?

In addition to the items listed above as items you want to carry-on I would include anything of value. Jewelry, cameras, tablets, etc. It may not be common but I have heard stories of items going "missing" when people received there bags. Basically use common sense.
Good point Sox. My wife and I use small backpacks for our carry on stuff. Also works when we fly.

Barbados has the "Green Monkey Golf Course" where I believe Tiger Woods has played many times before and even had his honeymoon therewith Elin back in the day before his "putter" went south. Check it out on Google, the course that is, not his putter
