  1. I have been to Orlando in the Summer....hot, hot and hot. Plan on sweating a lot, cold drinks are expensive (water & Coke products) and it is a lot more humid than you can think. Cruising in the Summer, haven't done that yet, but I imagine it would be hot also in the Caribbean. But, at least you will have a pool or ocean to jump in. And you can cool off inside the ship. That's hard to do in Orlando, they usually charge you to go inside.
  2. Ok, how about "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion....or maybe not that was the theme song from The Titanic movie......
  3. No music for me.....the months of December, January & February suffice!
  4. Uhhh, the closest bar that's open?
  5. Google "Golf at St. Kitts". A lot of good info will pop up for you to check out. I have been to St. Kitts a couple of times with RCI in the past and I do not remember seeing any golf excursions. Good luck!!
  6. Does anyone here know what the restrictions are for the Zip Line on the Allure of the Seas? I'm thinking maybe age, height, weight? Thanks.
  7. I tried that "baked" stuff one time and had a bad reaction............ I tried to take my pants off over my head, not a pretty sight
  8. Just booked "First night done right" for the Allure next March......331 days out. I think we will have plenty of time to research which specialty restaurant we want! Only one we've been to is Giovanni's.
  9. Thanks Zenster71 & Candie, I appreciate your comments. They will give my brother in law some peace of mind!
  10. Well, the port is actually about 3-4 blocks (very easy walking) from South Front Street where the famous Market Street Market is located. And short walks to all the other really nice eating/drinking/shopping places in the historic district of Charleston. I can understand why the city doesn't want any cruise ships in their port, if in fact that is true. We have been to Charleston many times and stayed a couple of days or a week at our time share unit on Church Street. I can tell you that during the spring, fall and Christmas season, they don't need any cruise ship tourists!
  11. Just to clarify my question, my sister in law will be the only one using an electric scooter so there will only be one in the cabin. My question was "has anyone here has any experiences with the Special Needs Group or Care Vacations"? Thanks.
  12. I saw a couple of baked Alaskans on the Serenade this past Feb. in the Schooner Bar. But, I don't thinks that's what we're talking about......
  13. Haven't seen that on any of the cruises I've been on in the past couple of years. I thinks that's gone by the wayside just like tuxedos on formal night!
  14. Maybe they have an accessible cabin?
  15. Next April, my brother in law and his wife are going on a cruise with us on the Allure and she has some mobility issues (can't walk very far or for a long period of time). So, I'm recommending he rent her an electric scooter. I saw some on the Serenade this past Feb. and I'm wondering if anyone here has any experiences with the Special Needs Group or Care Vacations? They seem to be the two biggest providers of these scooters. Thanks!
  16. If there is a Johnny Rockets on board your ship, head over there for breakfast (it's complimentary). Great menu, I love the menu item called "The Works". A major calorie bomb but delicious as all get out!
  17. Depending on the number of bags I give the porters at the port $10-$20, Taxis/Shuttles $10-$15, on board room service $2 (we only get coffee and a croissant from room service in the morning). Just so you know, there is an ATM on board near the guest services desk. Just be sure to let your ATM provider know you will be travelling out of the country and may use on board the ship. Wouldn't want the ATM machine to the bank to decline the transaction and "snack" on your card.
  18. If you're on the port side of the ship and the ship docks on the port side, to an OCD does that mean you'll be docking faster than the folks on the starboard side?
  19. Bcarney special? Windjammer baby!
  20. Threaten to cancel, storm the bridge.....arrrgh!
  21. Yeah, well my cure for the "effects" was to eat and drink healthy. I ate plenty of protein (and I mean plenty!), pigged out on desserts only on weekday nights dinner and started the day off with bloody mary or three! Oh yes, and I did a daily affirmation every morning that I promised to go to the gym when I got back home.
