  1. glad you have a good agent DonLC
  2. Actually I disagree - about not to use agents - Many cruise lines HAL and Princess send the offers for upgrades for my clients to me directly and then I call my clients the same day IF RCCL sends to you, they know you booked with an agent - it kind of defeats the purpose of them having you do the work- but I have never taken 5 days to get back to a client in 22 years!
  3. Southhampton Airport (SOU) - 5 miles from Port Bournemouth Airport (BOU) - 3o miles London - Heathrow (LHR) - 67 miles London - Gatwick (LGW) - 90 miles Most people will fly into London, then stay either there or closer to the Port Some of the hotels nearby are only about $100-$150 US per night
  4. My Guess is possibly FL since I think Allure may end up staying over in Europe or Quantum might?
  5. Hey I have sailed out of Vancouver and really liked it - the city itself is great to walk around and has some great sites to see either close by or you can easily get trains up to Whistler and see much more of BC while you are there. I flew into Seattle and drove into Vancouver which is one option - but the Amtrak from Seattle is a beautiful ride and worth doing from Seattle also - it leaves early like 7am to get you up to Vancouver so plan on staying a pre-night or two in Seattle. Likewise there are a few bus companies that p/up from SEA or downtown Seattle that bus you over the boarder Runs about $50 one way, per person. Like DocLC said, Seattle is cheaper to fly into but you can still do that and have options Vancouver airport if very easy as well and there are some budget hotels in the downtown area that are nice in VAN as well. Agree - love the itinerary and it has been one of my favorites as well. Main reason you do not get bigger ships here is they cannot fit through the Panama Canal to get to Alaska, and Alaska does not want bigger ships there either. Smaller is better for this itinerary.
  6. I have done both the discount bag and self-service laundry - I bring those little laundry detergent pods with me in a Ziploc and just check on it every once in a while - note though, don't get rooms near the laundry rooms unless you like to be hot all the time
  7. Final payments are listed on your confirmations from RCI in the middle left side of page
  8. Yep- AND be very specific - sometimes you just want a Owners Suite but I would list other suites if the ship has them as well or say ANY and ALL suites if the cruise line let's you. Then if a Grand Suite pops up you might just take that if the owner's does not materialize and YES people cancel all the time and there is often good luck in getting suites on a waitlist (depending on your number on waitlist) Good Luck
  9. Welcome! so exciting - anything in Europe I would love to hear about - I am always interested in WiFi spots at the ports themselves or close by that you can find. I tend to google these before I got and bring my Ipad off the ship to these wifi spots to check email - Have a great time - and enjoy
  10. They have great family staterooms that will hold up to 6 people on these ships if you book them early you should be able to get them or you can get two connecting staterooms too for probably a similar price and that will give you two bathrooms which can be nice on longer cruises. Liberty is very nice and has lots to do for families, but like Matt said the Navigator has some good upgrades too. lots to ponder -
  11. Hi I'd be happy to help you on this if you want BUT I have sailed on Celebrity and loved it - and I think its the itinerary and ship that drive the ages groups- like the Reflection or anything out of Miami will have a range of people - a longer cruise like you are talking about and not in summer will draw in more people older - but that does not mean they will not be FUN! Celebrity has some amazing offers and deals too email me if you want -and Allure would be a great option too.
  12. I booked shoretrips.com for a Cozumel trip and had a private guide. We did the ruins, Tequilla factory, drove the whole island and then he took us to a place the locals eat at for lunch, loved it. I have also used them for Zip Lining in Roatan which was fabulous and the kids got 12 lines to Zip on Top of their mountain Then again we did a beach day, snorkeling excursion in Belize - only about 10 people which was also great - they have been around awhile and are very reputable. Hope this helps.
  13. Just getting off the Oasis and we had one bottle in carry on, and one in our checked baggage - I usually do it all in my carry on's but this worked for me Truthfully I think its whomever is working at the port that day as well. just sayin'
  14. Other things - Hairspray by far is the best Musical or show I've seen on a ship I think - I do love the musical in general so that helps but the actors are great and we really liked it- since this was a 2 night sailing it was first come/first serve and we easily got seats 30 minutes ahead of time. Also played Bingo, do it a little Casino and saw the Aqua Theatre show too. All good things to do while onboard.
  15. Izumi I had not tried this for awhile so decided to go back - very popular so glad we booked early - Some people will be surprised no matter how many times you tell them there are fees to eat here - not like chop's where they charge $25 per person to dine, but a la carte pricing for each item you order. but we thought it was well worth it - I had the Hot Rock Skewers. This is a SUPER hot rock that allows you to cook your food yourself and then eat it - kind of fun - we also shared Sashimi, firecracker rolls, surf and turf rolls and had edaname and miso soup for 4 people we spent $79 which included two drinks. so if we had gone to Chop's or Portofino's cost would have been the same. Definitely would go back
  16. Our stateroom 6152, portside balcony room. Loved this location -right near spa, one level up from Promenade deck 2 decks below Central Park, really great.
  17. These bathroom door images crack me up on the Oasis But I do love the child changing stations located near the pools Would have made my life much easier with little one's Wipes, changing station, diaper genie, all in one place
  18. Here is the Red Lady - located on the 6th floor port stairwell ( just left of Spa) The Caption reads - Christa Parravani - 1977, American Nancy Knapp (well you don't see this was the way of it) Chromogenic print 1/3 This piece is from Parravani's series "SPOON RIVER" It is an enchanting collection of images base on a book of poems by Edgar Lee Masters called, Spoon River Anthology
  19. Biil - yep will find your red lady!
  20. Yep - happy to post as many changes as I can find on the Oasis and Yes, what I have heard is the Oasis and Allure will both be going to Dynamic Dining but I will try and confirm that as well.
