  1. First, RCG already pulled Alaska 2021 within 10 mins of Canada's annoucement. This point is moot. Second, referring to the Jones Act is incorrect. It's not the Jones Act. It's the PSVA. Jones act is more for cargo ships. PSVA is for passenger Vessels. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passenger_Vessel_Services_Act_of_1886. Third see @Matt post: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/01/27/royal-caribbean-will-still-offer-lift-shift-if-there-are-more-cancelled-cruises. It explains everything re: L&S. Finally, take a chill pill. RCG didnt create this Pandemic and it seems every short-coming stated RCG is to blame. We all are a lil'-bit frustrated but eventually we will look back and say to ourselves, "what was I thinking? I sound like a maniac!" I've been in those shoes and most probably will walk in them again. But, I tell myself RCG isn't going anywhere anytime soon and I'll be here waiting when the time is right to sail again. As they say, "if you build it, they will come." Odyssey, we await your arrival!! ?
  2. Yes. At least someone is paying attention in Cruise 101 !! ????
  3. My advice to all who own stocks in the cruise industry is to do your due diligence as I can't see cruises continue down a road with no income coming in for 2 years straight. Something is going to give and the massive charge to sell those stocks will start soon thereafter. I have followed all the speeches given by every CEO/Chairman/President and their wash-over videos and they are just repeating the same script over and over. I wonder would they take a salary cut, if asked to.
  4. The U.S.A. is right behind Canada. Nothing really is moving here re: cruises.
  5. Just seen Matt's post on all cruises banned from Canada thru Feb. 2022!!! That sucks!!!!!!!! Which is another sign that nothing is moving re: cruises in North America anytime soon!!
  6. How about not thinking of making plans for any cruises until the start of mock cruises? This way, we will have at least proof that something is happening. I'm debating at this point just to fly out to Hawaii for two weeks.
  7. Wow! Below is what the article quoted Matt on..."elaborate publicity stunt"??? ???? "Matt Hochberg, 38, a cruise industry reporter who closely follows Royal on his unofficial Royal Caribbean Blog, thinks the whole gambit could be a mirage and wonders if the company’s move was an elaborate publicity stunt. Instead of citizen volunteers, he suspects that the line will populate its test cruises primarily with land-based Royal employees and travel agents—the same friendly audience typically on shakedown cruises for new ships. And yet, Hochberg volunteered anyway. “I signed up immediately,” he says. “I figured, why not?” (Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, says the company’s sign-up program stemmed from high demand that was coming in over social media and email.)"
  8. There goes Med Cruising for May/June for Royal and NCL. Just a matter of time before that announcement comes.
  9. I'll answer your question without all the unnecessary bells and whistles. IF the CDC did not have the power to do what has already been done in the past 11 months, would we still be here having this conversation instead of sipping a Mojito on a cruise poolside?

  12. IMO - There Goes The Love Boat Feeling !! --------------------------------------- Princess Cruises will soon allow real-time sports betting on their MedallionClass cruise ships. Professional and college football, basketball, baseball, and hockey as well as a wide variety of other exciting domestic and international events will be open to bets by cruise passengers. When the cruise ship is in international waters, or wherever permitted by law, guests can use the MedallionClass app to wager on a host of major sports competitions, as well as place prop bets during live events taking place during their cruise. Guests also will have the opportunity to place bets on future competitions that occur well after their voyage. Built in partnership with software developer, Miomni, Ocean Sportsbook will be available on all Princess MedallionClass ships upon approval to return to service in 2021. The new sportsbook is part of Ocean Casino – a digital experience that lets wagers be placed beyond the casino – stateroom, poolside, spa, and more – on an assortment of games that include blackjack, slots, poker, roulette, bingo, keno and lottery. “On Princess MedallionClass cruises our guests can stay connected with their friends and family around the world, and now with Ocean Sportsbook, they can also stay connected to their favorite teams and wager on a host of events whenever they sail with us,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises. “Taking a cruise vacation no longer means being disconnected from a big game, an iconic event or friends and family.” Princess MedallionClass vacations are enabled by the award-winning OceanMedallion, a wearable device that elevates the guest experience and delivers a high level of service and personalized attention on a large scale, and also features elite level bandwidth with MedallionNet powered by SES, allowing for enhanced connected experiences like Ocean Sportsbook. Note: Due to Carnival Corporation’s affiliation with the Miami Heat, bets will not be allowed on any games involving them.
  13. Well, I don't think my "word is God" and I never said everyone should listen to me. I just expressed an opinion like many do on here and whether you choose to follow it, that will be up to you. But, if I would question anyone, I would make sure to quote them accurately and this way it would not fall back on misquoting and then trying to circumvent a corrected issue. At the end, no love lost. Enjoy your day! ?
  14. I wish you would quote me verbatim (defined by my friend, Oxford, as in exactly the same words as were used originally) which you did not, which I stated "2021 starting to look more and more like a bust!!" You stated that I said, "2021 is more like a bust!!!!" Two total different statements. I'm being optimistic for an October outlook. But on the other hand, 2021 can still be a bust, maybe not a total bust but if you don't get to cruise in 2021, will you consider it a bust if you, specifically, can't sail?? I would.
  15. The earliest I see it coming back would be 4th quarter in October sometime and that is being optimistic and given that test cruises and crew training have yet to start, no certificates has been granted from the CDC, etc. Stay tuned folks.
  16. Of course it's not a good sign but you still have certain individuals <cough, cough, scroll up> who are still in denial. ?
  17. It has absolutely nothing to do whether it's a 10 hour flight, 40 minute flight or a 30 hour flight. It has to do with bringing/transporting/personal or carrier transmission covid from another country which may be a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 10th variant of this virus back to the States or bring it to any other country. That is what it comes down to. It doesn't take a brain scientist to know what the respective governments are doing to protect their citizens.
  18. You do realize that flights from Nassau, Bahamas, is an international country versus Hawaii which is the 50th state? Hawaii is considered Domestic just like Alaska. Did you play hookie when they taught this in school? ??
  19. They will be talking about the same crap over and over again. Ever notice how the same topics and questions gets repeated every other week? ?
  20. Carnival Magic, Carnival Paradise and Carnival Valor, those ships return to operations will be delayed until November 2021 after their dry dock and will not sail in 2021 till Novembet 2021. Ask yourself, 10 months of dry dock and no sailing in 2021 till November? Something smells funny in Denmark and it's not the cheese!!
  21. Carnival has announce further cancellations and redeployments into the 4th Qtr of 2021 !! And for those who tried and keep trying to sugar-coat it, let it sink in. It's happening. 2021 starting to look more and more like a bust!!
