  1. I have done a few longer cruises in the past. And while I have not done this one I do not believe the issues you raised to be a problem. 1) fresh fruit and food may run out: Since the ship makes several port shops this will not be a issue. They will restock the ship during the cruise. Some items are flown in to meet the ships (like fresh Maine Lobster) and others are in holding areas waiting for the ships port call. On this cruise some of your port calls are places that export many fresh fruits to Royal so these items will be much fresher than if on a East Coast Cruise. 2) entertainment by be not up to usual standards: I believe you will see better entertainment than on a standard cruise as many new shows will be presented or (tested) on these cruises. 3) staff numbers may be down therefore service and attention to guests might be less: The ship is going to have a full crew or very close to it. Royal runs at almost 100% staff levels on every cruise. And since the same guest for 24 days and much fewer port calls I believe the crew will in fact be better and more comfortable with the passengers. This is a great cruise and you should have a wonderful trip.
  2. Not Open because sold out or completely fulled.... I want get them to put me into what I wanted or they would cancel and refund the cruise paying all my damages. Not open because they are not offering the Dinning Option to anyone yet: I would be on the list for when it opens and have confirmation that I would be given what I want when it opens. Or again they would cancel and refund the cruise paying all my damages. Again I know I am not normal in the way I handle things, most people do not keep lawyers on call. Most people have not filed lawsuits and the though of doing so is complicated, most are not comfortable in conflict situations, most people don't want to make waves...... I have no problem in any of these situations.
  3. That is not always the case. The contact you have depends upon how and were you book. I have called Royal for last minute cruises and just paid in full over the phone. The agent has said nothing about the contract. Since the cruise is paid in full Royal cannot later tell me I must agree to the contract. And this happen on a cruise Royal told me I was under the cruise contract. When I strongly pointed out to them I was not recalled the recording of the booking, it was clear I was not under the contract. The example you site with ATT is not valid as ATT requires a full application and signed contract of service before the purchase is allowed. If readers want to agree that it is one device that is your choice. The only point I am making is that it is open to interpretation, like so many things Royal does it is not clear and therefore it can be disputed with them. I will make the following challenge to any member here. I will place into a escrow account with a independent holding company the total cost of a cruise as talked about here, and you do the same. I will then purchase and take the cruise, if I do not get unlimited devices and usage, you keep my $10,000 in escrow. Please take my offer as it means a free cruise for me.
  4. The blog is not Royal, it independent, and the Royal site is full of conflicts saying two or more completely different things for the same issue. Plus add in that when and how you purchased the cruise has a effect on the answer as the contract cannot be changed without agreed from both sides and consideration after it entered into.
  5. That is not what it says, maybe that is what they mean but what they mean and one they say are not the same under contract law. It is my position that they made the offer of Unlimited VOOMâ„ High Speed Internet, it does not say unlimited data, it just says unlimited high speed internet. So no to assume what Royal means, you hold them to what they have said and represented within the offer made. I can also understand and respect Wobble31 post that he just wants to have a nice relaxing cruise. We all relax in our own ways, what I may find relaxing others maybe will think is hard work. So is is up to each person to decide what they want to do and how far to push it. I can tell you if I had booked a suite under the terms represented, I would have unlimited internet, in terms of data usage, and number of devices logged into the system. Again while others find it a better use of time to sit by the pool drinking cocktails, I would rather spend the time standing up for what I believe to be right and as contracted.
  6. The ship left Miami at 8:03 am (Miami Time) and is due back in the Miami port at 5:30 pm. I'm sure that a fair number of the people on board are news reporters. Empress of the Seas in her new home port Miami
  7. Some charge companies do use a 60 day rule but two important exceptions to this. When the purchase is for future goods or services. IE purchase a airline ticket for a year from now and two months before the flight airline goes bankrupt, even with the purchase being 10 months old still can dispute. Also if you have not paid the charge payment off you can still dispute. We both buy $2000 dollar TV's you payoff in full, I made minimum payment, and a year later both TV's have problems, I can dispute, because still have a balance, you paid off cannot. So cruises should be able to be disputed after the cruise, regardless of when paid. I have disputed cruises after returning from them.
  8. The original post I replied too. If you say "...the price is way to much for me and I can't afford that..." you are staying stay home, book outside, pay more, or take less of a cabin. Absolutely nothing was misleading or opinion, just a statement of the facts, as was posted.
  9. Matt, I agree with you 100% and we should all support you and the blog. But if you read the post I was replying to the poster said they would not take the cruise because of no cabins they wanted were available through your group tour operator. The poster listed two options take the cruise with your operator (but no cabin) or stay home. Again, I agree with you go through your tour operator first. But if the choice is have a site member takes the cruise as part of the official group or that member stays home, I submit a better option is take the cruise as a normal passenger. Is it not better to have a blog member on the cruise vs. staying home, regardless of how they book? Some support from a blog member is better than no support.
  10. It also comes down to declaring the watch and then paying the duties and fees. And while some people maybe can bring in a watch without declaring, the same can be said for bringing five tons of Cocaine into the the country, it has been done without detection before but also people are in jail for being caught. The link below talks about a couple of these cases and how US customs handles these things. https://beckertime.com/blog/to-declare-declare-your-rolex/ Here is part of what is said. "So you are on your way back from a great trip and are not sure whether to claim your newly purchased Rolex for duty. You purchased one Rolex watch which you are hand carrying, so you have Rolex U.S.A’s blessing, but when presented the green customs card on the plane or ship, the question usually comes up as to what to do. If caught smuggling a Rolex past customs, you can be fined six times the duty of the watch, or the price of the watch itself. Additionally, if you going through customs just coming off a plane/train from a vacation destination, the customs agents know what to look for when scanning luggage as well as wrists. Even though Customs Agents reportedly look for illegal drugs being smuggled, other items such as high priced watches or diamonds stand out when standing in the customs line. "
  11. I believe if you call five more times you will get five more answers. But if I was booked in SKY CLASS the way I read it I would have as many devices as I wanted. But as I have said before I have no problem going head to head with Royal, be it the Hotel Director, Customer Service or legal, almost always I get things my way. The reason I say unlimited is because of the information in this Royal link on the site: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/royalsuiteclass/sky It says in part: Unlimited VOOM℠High Speed InternetSurf, stream, share and chat – do everything you do back home with complimentary access to VOOM℠, the fastest Internet at sea. So even if Royal has changed to a fix number of devices I would claim and make the case that the contract says Unlimited without quantifications, so therefore it is unlimited usage and devices.
  12. Based upon the information the OP stated, it could only be a error as I stated. Because the poster said "there are 8 sailings listed." If it is 8 sailings then it is a error if it is four sailings with two cruises within each sailing then it is not a error. But that said DocLC statement seems to be correct and the reason that the OP made a false assumption about the number of 7 day cruises.
  13. Which is true if you can fix upon a point that is not moving. But in the open ocean that is really hard. People look at the waves and water close to the ship which makes motion sickness worse.
  14. It would still be only four or four and a half 7 day cruises within the month. Look at this: Cruise #1 August 1 Spain end August 7 Italy Cruise #2 August 7 Italy end August 14 Spain Cruise #3 August 14 Spain end August 21 Italy Cruise #4 August 21 Italy end Spain August 28 Cruise #5 August 28 Spain end Italy September Even if you move the days and started the first cruse in July, no way to get 8 cruises of 7 days into a month.
  15. Book the cruise through Royal direct if the group agent does not offer what you need. Yes a few of the group only things on the cruise done by the group operator will be out for you. But will not stop you from doing 95% of the things the group does. Not through this group but on other cruises I have gone to private group only things and non group members attended and no one threw them over board for doing so. If you want to take the cruise and you need to book outside the cruise do it.
  16. So little movement on a cruise ship that I believe these items to really be a waste of time. If you are hyper sensitive to motion sickness book a inside cabin middle of the ship on the lowest passenger deck you can. More movement on the average bus ride than on modern cruise ships. Yes less than 1% of the time in storms or bad weather the ship moves a lot, but no way around this. The only way to protect from this 1% of the time problem is stay home.
  17. Are any of our members on this cruise? It will be interesting to here how the cruise goes. My guess is many items will not be on the ship, and services will be limited. I do not think the first few cruses will be up to normal Royal standards.
  18. I would not accept this as a answer if they want my deposit and payments they will take my dining option. I did have this happen and told them to cancel the cruise and refund if they could not provide the dining choice I wanted. Then transferred to a customer service supervisor he did not cancel the cruise but made the change and sent a confirmation.
  19. Matt did a blog with complete information, here is the link: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2015/07/01/depth-look-royal-caribbeans-ultimate-drink-package
  20. Well based upon your information that is 56 days of sailing in a month that has 31 days, even if you took of 8 days for same start and stopped date it is still 46 days. While I'm sure Mr Fan would love to get 46 days of sailing into a month it is not possible. So only one answer here a mistake within the system.
  21. Only three things I really need on a cruise, listed in order of importance. Anything else I can buy or live without. 1) Passport 2) Money 3) Laptop Give me these three things and Reynaline and I'm happy. Yes I did not put her on the list because I would never reduce her to being a belonging. It goes without question that she is on the cruise. That is the reason I no longer take US Cruises, (Visa Issues). Really sad if I want to fly to Mexico I could just walk across the broader with her (Drive I'm Lazy) and no real issues. But go to the US Embassy and apply for a Visa and it takes years even for just a port stop and it takes years.
  22. DocLC..... If I agreed with your case then it still could be a problem and shows how little Royal care about passengers these days. Even if it takes only one day, (which I do not believe is true) Royal has left not safety net here. Lets say the USCG finds a single problem and delays approval by a day, it will impact the passengers. Work stoppage or any strike stops delivery of goods, and it affects the passengers. So if the ships arrives and everything goes right I still believe the passengers will have a second rate cruise because the ship cannot be 100% ready. And if anything at all goes wrong then it will result in big problems. The ship is moving now and the tracking says it will be in Miami ETA: 2016-05-25 09:30am. This is a pattern they Royal seems to have fallen into over the last few years, pushing limits so far and taking out safety margins so passengers are affected. The ship should have been 100% ready several days ago.
  23. I agree with you Matt, if you need to travel at a set time, to a set place, ship, and room..... book early as it opens and check for price drops. But if you can travel on short notice and are open to ports and ships, last minute works great.
