  1. I don’t want to expend too much time posting while I’m enjoying the ship. I will post something more extensive upon return. The quick & dirty is business as usual w/ the exception of masks indoors which is not a big deal. All venues open!
  2. Oasis: confirmed all games open in casino.
  3. Not true. I am currently sailing Oasis with my family. The casino is wide open w/o smoke pouring out which is a nice touch. I spent 3 hours in the casino last night so I can certify it is as open as it’s ever been. I followed that up with watching the ice show with my kids and also listening to the live house band in the music hall. Please don’t let the media rain on your parade. We feel safe with zero doom & gloom on this ship. Mexico bound!
  4. I’m really happy that this may be nothing but poppycock. We are at the terminal now ready to board and it’s going to be a great cruise! Happy New Year!
  5. There is a rumor floating around that 125 total Covid positive cases on a voyage will result in the entire ship quarantined to staterooms? If true, is this 125 total inclusive of crew? Assuming all passengers quarantined would the ship return to home port regardless of what duration was remaining on the voyage? I have to admit, this would really be bad if true. Thanks in advance.
  6. Once again the media casts the dark cloud over the cruise industry & everything is completely blown out of proportion. I’m already getting the “Are you sure you should be cruising” and the “didn’t you see that the ships aren’t allowed to dock anywhere” usual crap from people who don’t cruise. Personally my family & I have been to every single one of these islands so many times that we cruise for the ship and not the destinations. I really don’t care if we get 6 sea days + perfect day because Oasis is enough for my family. The haters will do whatever they need to do to make the cruise industry a scapegoat for Covid, and that won’t ever change.
  7. This will be our 4th cruise after the re-start and I don’t have any reason at all to feel unsafe. RC has done a great job! The more people that cancel the better because there’s absolutely nothing like sailing at a lower capacity on an Oasis class ship! Can’t wait.
  8. To add to the above, do you think Oasis will be at or close to capacity for 12/26 sailing?
  9. Anyone getting on Oasis tomorrow 12/26 for the Holiday sailing what are your thoughts going into this? We all have are negative results on hand and we’re ready to get on the ship! So far, we received the 2 hr delay email and I’ve been reading about the new mask protocols (no big deal). Being in SoFL the talk of the town is Odyssey & Symphony so hopefully Oasis stays out of the news!
  10. Received the same notice for Oasis leaving Sunday.
  11. Wow, very generous! Aruba & Curaçao are great but this is better. Odyssey really is the destination anyway!
  12. Positive = no cruise, no exception. As others have said, take the antigen test not PCR.
  13. I believe they did. I enjoyed them while they lasted though.
  14. Or even better, put those robot bar tenders to real work! Lol
  15. This is true but every cigar lounge I’ve ever been too has been a mix of cigar and cigarette smoke so this wouldn’t be any different. It’s all about the ventilation. Personally I would spend top dollar for a good quality cigar and a nice drink to go with it. Royal could be missing out here solving multiple issues with one venue.
  16. I mean realistically what revenue is the Bulgari/Cartier store bringing in? My neighbor was a T&Co executive and as I understand it there is a good reason they yanked all the stores off the ships. How about a cigar/smoking lounge with a Havana style bar? Smoke in comfort and isolation. Everyone wins.
  17. IMHO it’s time RC starts adding designated smoking lounges completely closed off much like the cigar bars of the past. The smoking area on the pool deck is out of place where it is. At a minimum they should have set it up in a less trafficked area and away from all the kids running around by the pool. The walkers, breathing apparatus and smoke plumes are unpleasant at best.
  18. RC has invested huge sums of money into the casinos & player programs (especially on Oasis class). I am not a smoker so I welcome the ban. In my opinion the half assed attempt at making 1/2 the casino “non smoking” was a total joke. I don’t care where you are in that casino, regardless of the designation it still smelled heavily of smoke. I don’t sail Celebrity but my parents are on them often & tell me the casino does not have the same vibe. I am guessing the Casino Royale smokers are going to be pissed and feel betrayed and this will reflect in the contributions to the machines & tables. I’m sure eventually they will get over it but smoking and gambling + drinking are all kind of married together into one good time!
  19. The gap between D+ and Pinnacle is excessive. Even for the sake of exclusivity it’s still excessive and there is plenty of room (perhaps purposely) to insert another tier to shift the entire program if necessary.
  20. I tried to search because I know this was recently mentioned but can’t locate… Which sites do you use to filter Star Class only sailings for pricing?
  21. The smoking / non smoking areas in the casino is a joke. Like the entire place isn’t going to be filled with smoke in that small of a room?
  22. Support & donate to your Casinos because they could be the only thing keeping these ships floating at this point. Think about that….
  23. It’s great news but I doubt it will last longer then the holiday season.
