  1. @FionaMG thank you so much for the pictures and advice! We've got 6624 now reserved for our little family of three for November 2024! Woohoo! I'm glad I found this thread, I almost booked one of the red rooms on the guide instead...
  2. We have a 10 day cruise coming up and want to do the 3 night dining plan (once in each specialty restaurant onboard). We're thinking of scheduling them mid/late in the trip (or maybe for the MDR menus that don't look good to us). When I go to buy it, it shows me reservations for either day 1 or day 2, but we already have a lunch reservation on day 1 and day 2 sounds like it will be French night in the MDR (which is the one I was really looking forward to). Do I have to make a reservation on day 1 or 2? Can I move it without penalty once I get onboard? Do I have any other options? Thanks.
  3. Could it be based on status? I am gold and mine is not showing.... Maybe some tiers aren't changing and some are?
  4. I have the error message too.
  5. This sounds amazing. How do you accomplish this? I have a few hammocks lying around from when I used to go camping a ton.
  6. So there is no option for me to choose a cabin. When I click on the option to choose my own cabin, it gives guarantee as my only room option. The other option is to let Royal choose my cabin. Which is why I'm so confused, lol... It seems to be guarantee or guarantee...
  7. We booked a cruise for this summer which when you select "you pick your room" only gave is the option to select "spacious ocean view balcony guarantee". I really want a room near the midship elevators (I have mobility issues). If I understand correctly, that means our cabin will be assigned when we pay final payment and if we don't like the location we can switch? But I know that I can't reprice my cruise after final payment. When should I pay in full in order to have the best choice of cabin but not risk paying too much of the price drops? Any advice? TIA.
  8. I just took my first ever cruise on Enchantment a little less than a month ago. I'm a foodie, so I tried really hard to lower my expectations so as to not be disappointed. The thing I wasn't expecting was the fact that things were so hit or miss. It's one thing to have consistently mediocre quality, but everything was SO all over the place. I had a few wonderful dishes but I also had a few inedible dishes. I've never had an inedible meal in a restaurant on land before, but had multiple on the ship. The worst was probably the room service grilled cheese which was literally a cold piece of cheese on a slice of white bread... That being said, when I did have to send something back as inedible, the replacement was typically edible. I'm really hoping for the best on my cruise on Vision this summer, but planning on avoiding room service and expecting a few inedible dishes, which really makes me a bit sad.
  9. I don't have an answer to your question but an interesting story. I went on my first cruise last month and while I was packing I asked my husband to grab my passport for me and I put it in my bag, right in front, where I knew right where it was. I get to the port, he drops me off (girls cruise), and lo and behold he had handed me my expired passport. I start freaking out but they have one of the managers I guess come over to help and she tells me that if I can get someone to send me a picture of my birth certificate, that will do. Luckily my MIL was at my place watching my daughter and she snapped a picture and texted it. The manager looked at it, said "yep, that looks real, you're good" and let me on the ship. I couldn't believe it. She then jokingly said "I can make things more difficult for you if you want..." We were on the ship before 11am. For this cruise, 2/3 of the ports were US ports so maybe that's why it was so relaxed? I was a little nervous not having my passport, but I didn't get off at the non-US port and had my husband bring my current passport when he picked me up just in case I had any issues with customs, but the agent just lectured me about traveling internationally without a passport. The whole thing was kinda crazy. The interesting thing though is that even if I had to wait for my husband to drive home, get my passport, and drive back, he still would have made it before all aboard... I wonder how many people unintentionally sail with a birth certificate (or photo of) because of issues with their passports...
  10. Just did my first cruise on Enchantment out of Baltimore and fell in love. I was that lump in a lounge chair on 10. Enjoy your cruise!
  11. Cafe Lattetudes served Tazo, Tazo was available in the room, and Bigelow was available at dining locations (Windjammer/Park Cafe) for my last sailing. My ship didn't have a Promenade Cafe so I'm not sure about that location, and I'm also not sure if the offerings differ from ship to ship. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in.
  12. If you like honey with your tea, that might be hard to find. I've only sailed one ship, but was told the only place to get it was Windjammer (but still didn't see it there). I figured out that you can request hot water with honey from the coffee shop for free, so that was my hack for the trip.
  13. When I was there for my nails I asked what the special would be for the next day and they told me, but I'm not sure they'd give you the specials for the entire trip.
  14. Also, in terms of specials, at least on my cruise. Most specials are listed in the compass the night before but are only good for same day booking. However, on my small ship there is only one nail tech so same day booking was all filled up for her. Just something to be aware of in case there is something specific you want done, if you just want a good deal you might have to be flexible with the services available.
  15. What I've done is get seltzer/club soda from the bar and mix in some juice to give it a little flavor.
  16. I'm getting ready to go on my first cruise ever and we'll be stopping in Nassau. This will be my first time in the Bahamas. I can't walk long distances or stand for extended periods of time, so I'm trying to figure out the most accessible way to have a relaxing beach day with as little walking/standing/physical effort as possible. I was thinking maybe a resort day pass but not sure if that's the best way to do it. It will just be two adults looking for the most relaxing/quiet beach day possible (ideally with access to chairs and umbrellas). Appreciate any suggestions or recommendations.
  17. Really random question but is anyone on Enchantment now or planning to sail before Dec 9 (with surf & stream) and willing to run a speed test and share a screenshot for me? I'm anxious to know what speeds are like with Starlink. Thank you in advance!
  18. Apparently I can't internet and duplicated my post. Nothing to see here.
  19. Also thinking about this one soon, thanks all for the reviews! Can anyone share how much walking is involved? I can walk short distances but have trouble with long distances or standing for extended periods of time.
  20. New to cruising, would this mean a cruise from Baltimore to Bahamas in December would be bad when it comes to motion?
  21. I will be on my first ever cruise on Enchantment December 9. I have a laptop I'll be bringing which has terrible battery life. Are there any places onboard where I can sit and relax that have an outlet I can plug in to? I know it's an older ship so I figured I'd ask since I'm assuming outlets are not plentiful if they exist. Thanks in advance!
