  1. Thanks to all. Should I bring my HDMI cable and universal remote to cast it to the tv if not planning on getting the internet package?
  2. I apologize if this has been asked before. I've searched and could not find a definitive answer. Can I 'cast' from an android tablet to the TVs on the Odyssey? If the movies are preloaded on my tablet (ie not a streaming service), do I need the internet package? Thanks to all for your replies and knowledge.
  3. First time on RCCL for us (group of 7). We are doing a tour of Italy on our own afterwards
  4. Question for the knowledge base. TIA! I'm thinking of prepaying gratuities on a 7 night on the Odyssey for which we have purchased the UDP. How does it work for the prepaid dining gratuities? Are more gratuities added if we do more than one specialty restaurant in a day or specific restaurants? TIA.
  5. I probably should have asked here instead of the general forum. We are cruising with our little one diagnosed with ASD, would you say I have zero chances of getting his usual chicken strip and fries at a specialty restaurant? Thanks!
  6. Hello everyone. My wife asked me a question about dining and I didn't have an answer, but I know you guys/gals probably do. With our little who has an ASD diagnosis, can he order/get his usual chicken strips, fries and jello at Specialty Restaurants? Does anyone have experience ordering for a special needs passenger something off-menu at specialty restaurants? Thanks again, everyone here is pretty awesome
  7. Is this a a US sailings thing? We've cruised mostly out of European ports with DCL, and never seen anything of the sort (maybe a few chairs, but not the whole lot). We're doing our first RCCL out of Rome next summer, hoping it's either a US thing, or there is some enforcement by then.
  8. Hello. Next summer will be our firs RCCL (Med out of Rome) after solely cruising DCL. Am I getting the following facts on Room Service right? - Breakfast is free - All other times there is a service charge Is there a room-service menu? On DCL you just order whatever comes to mind, from donuts to buffalo wings to milkshakes. Of course always tip the service personnel TIA
  9. Thanks. I appreciate this. Actually, our little one is kinda looking forward to Med Cruise (he's fully into travelling Europe, and we have done 2 Northern Europe cruises with DCL). What you mention above is really helpful, getting the right people to know of our 'special' circumstance. Thanks also for the port tip. We are planning on arriving one day prior to the cruise and staying that night at the port. Again, thanks
  10. Thanks for all the tips. - Will definitively bring hooks - Will use the stuff-bag when/if available As smart packing as possible, but I believe will still need to use the wash and fold. As much as 'packages' are a thing in RCCL, they should have a prepaid laundry package. Thanks again!
  11. Hello There. Doing our first RCCL next summer out of Rome. We have sailed on DCL six times (mostly out of European Ports), and I'm a bit curious about laundry. As a family of 5, packing for a European 7 day cruise would be a lot of suitcases. On DCL we usually do laundry abt 3 times on 7+ day cruises. Can you share your laundry tips for 7+ day cruises on RCCL? Right now, just planning on spending on the wash-fold and thinking that the savings over DCL merit it. (saw some picture of the stuff-all-you-can bag, and it looks tiny) TIA
  12. Also interested. My son will be 21 when we sail next summer. Edited Saw a Solo Travelers get-together on the latest Odyssey Cruise Compass, I guess this might be something similar TIA
  13. Thanks! Quick question. Are the water bottles aluminum, glass or plastic?
  14. Thank you! Hoping a similar process is in place in Rome.
  15. What would be the best course of action while cruising the Med, with a European (French) sim? - Airplane mode on, until at port?
  16. Thanks. This eases my mind. We as well, don't usually disclose his diagnosis, but lines and loud noises are still a challenge. We are not looking for any privileges, but more-so not to incommodate other passengers. Again, Thanks
  17. Thanks for the replies. I was mistaken in assuming that boarding time selection was given out by cruising seniority (like DCL does) not 1st come 1st serve. Appreciate all the advice and recommendations.
  18. Thanks for your reply. Will keep this in mind 11:30 to Noon. Are boarding times assigned by RCL by seniority (number of RCL cruises ; that is how it's assigned at RCL) ? If so, can an earlier time be requested?
  19. Hello. New to the boards, and need to say this community is the most helpful I've experienced. We are going on our first RCCL after 6 DCL's. (not an AOTS) We are cruising with with our 10yrl old who has been diagnosed with Autism. I disclosed this when booking, and it got noted on our reservations. The agent told us that we would have expedited boarding available. This is great as he does not do well with waiting in line. Does expedited boarding, mean early boarding? or just passed quickly through the terminal? At DCL we were able to request earliest boarding, as anxiety gets high bummer on sail days for him, and I'm fretting over getting a 1 or 2 pm boarding time. Have other parents been able to request this?
  20. Thank you! again! I did try to book the UDP and could select all 7 guests! Again, thanks
  21. Apologize for the newb question. We are sailing on the Odyssey in Summer 2023 and have 3 reservations (two of mine, one for the in-laws), How do I Iink said reservations? I can see all three when I log in to RCCL as I booked all three. TIA
  22. Are you allowed to bring in bottled water/soda from ports?
  23. Thanks. This is very helpful. We are sailing on the Odyssey next summer and have purchased the UDP. Quick questions, and again thanks! and apologies as it's our first time sailing RCCL - Can the Host at Chops or other specialty restaurant make reservations for us in all the restaurants, or just that restaurant? - Can I just make these reservations myself on the app, once on-board? - What are the 'prime-times' that will already be booked, and should not even look at? (we are early dinner people) - I have three reservations (three cabins), what is the best way to go about making reservations for 7? - Do I need reservations for lunch at the specialty restaurants? My apologies for the barrage of questions. Again, appreciate all the help.
