Yes, it is a private island.  We have been there twice and love it.  Food and drinks are available.  They hadn't started the (adult) drink package yet when we were there but I would think it would work the same as on the ship.

You can get the drink  package at ANY bar....just skip the long lines when you first get on the ship and head to the pool bar or wherever you want. It takes 30 seconds and your ready to drink.
 
Take it from someone who has does this many times on different ships..lol.
 
I did get mine in the terminal in Tampa the one time there as well, as there was no line up at the time I was passing by the table.

That's a good plan.
 
In Tampa, they were selling the drinks packages in the cruise terminal too.

ah DocLC that is good to hear, unfortunately we have lost royal Caribbean this year but im hoping she will come back soon.

Welcome, J_Keeble. Harwich is a great port. We sailed on the Brilliance in July and it was the most organized and easiest port I've ever embarked or disembarked from. And the band playing as a send off was a nice touch. Just wish the airports were closer.

I think the biggest thing is access to the consierge services and lounge. Free hors d'oeuvre and free drinks every night before dinner and help planning excursions, dinner reservations, show reservations, etc. If we have missed something or gotten closed out of an excursion or show, the consierge can usually make it happen for suite guests.
 
Also dedicated pool deck seating on some ships
Free pressing of clothing for first formal night.
Nightly free something in your state room. Cookies, strawberries, etc
Fruit basket the first day

I don't know if its the same but on Harmonys 22nd sailing they are doing a guaranteed suite option. I paid £1000 for 2 people and the suite is only an extra £200 so as matt says YOLO I've upgraded.

my name is James, I've only been on 2 cruises so far but I love it !
 
it all started when I was at work ( Harwich international port) where brilliance used to sail from. and I saw the RCCL brochure in the cruise terminal. I started looking through the brochure and saw this ship called Anthem of the Seas, it looked so bloody amazing!
 
 
so I had a word with the girlfriend of 5 years and we decided to book one of her maiden voyages which was a 3 night cruise in April 2015, we went on the ship and I was just blown away by it all! it was one of the best times I've had.
 
I love the look of all the ship but I must say I think I have to be on a smart ship with the royal IQ, I don't think I could live without that app it was so useful, so that may limit what ships I can go on but I have harmony booked up in may and oasis in October.

I will be peri scoping from harmony in May 22nd I will have VOOM internet so will periscope 3/4 times a day
