  1. Thanks for all the feedback. We were talking about getting off and just looking for a taxi to drive us around. We don't want any beach area, just see the island and learn the history would be nice. Maybe stop somewhere and have a drink and some food.
  2. One thing that I love about cruise staff is they are appreciate any extra money you hand them. A lot of their money they earn they send home. But when you tip them cash they usually save that and when in port and they get out they can go out and buy snacks, or gifts for their families back home, so they are usually grateful. If you tip the right person like a bartender that makes you a drink they will remember you and make you a really nice drink the next time you come up and even remember what you drink.
  3. The stops are nice for the AOS. All those islands i really enjoyed, but I do like the Oasis class ships. I've been on the Adventure, but has been a long time, but I liked the ship. If you pick that one, in St. John try to make it to Trunk Bay. One of the top 10 beaches in the world and you can snorkel. It is national park, so the water is nice and no boats are allowed in the inlet. Can't go wrong with either pick
  4. Going to Curacao in 32 days on the Allure. They offer 4 or so different excursion tours through RCCL. Can any suggest what one they think is worth taking. One is called Fascinating Tour One is the Panoramic Tour Another one is Called Discover Curacao And the last one is called Beauties of Curacao. If you taking one of these and enjoyed it please let me know and why. Thank you
  5. Thank you everyone for the info. Might have to get the voom just to stay up with family back home.
  6. Im sure it is on here somewhere, but have not come across it. I will be doing an Alaska cruise next year and have Verizon for cell service. How well does it work up there? And do you keep it on while on the ship or do you get roaming charges and only turn it on in port?
  7. Just a general question from observation. It seems that the Quantum was built for the Asian market and started to sail out of Singapore. I have watched a few video tours of the ship because next year I will be going on Quantum for an Alaska cruise. I see on peoples videos that a lot of things are in Chinese writing and haven't really caught any English written, like on the handle of the balcony cabin door. Does Royal change that when it comes over to the states for English itineraries?
  8. They make some pretty contactable ones you can find on Amazon that plug in USB to recharge them. Or they have battery operated ones as well. I might get one myself and see if it helps me better on the ship because I like a fan as well.
  9. Sailing during football season on the Allure and they don't have Playmakers. How much football do they seem to show in On-Air during the sailings?
  10. I believe they added chicken wings to the room service menu, but Allure doesn't have Playmakers but on ships that do, that's where you can order them.
  11. If you get the WiFi for the ship you can make calls on either facebook messenger or download the WhatsApp, it uses your cell number, but you can call or video chat over WiFi. The person you are trying to contact has to download it as well.
  12. I probably won't do a blog, but I will try to remember to do a review when I get back.
  13. I mean I know they want to get out of the "red" because they took a big hit during the pandemic, but they would have to know they would get back in the black or green, so why not have your customers feel cool and comfortable in the Caribbean. Hopefully my cabin can stay cool. Plus side is I won't leave the balcony door open like my dad does and let all the cold air out, drove me crazy because it would take the cabin a while to recover.
  14. I really liked reading your post. I am going on Allure in September I went on her 11 years ago and it was my first Oasis class ship and loved how big the ship was and spread out. My wife doesn't like to cruise because she gets sick, so I am going with my parents, but this time I have my own cabin, so it will kind of feel like a solo cruise for me. We went last September on Symphony and had a grand suite. I think this time I might follow your lead and see as many shows as possible. I never thought about watching people on the flow rider, but maybe I need to check it out for a good laugh or how skilled some people are. Hopefully the ship is more staffed by September. I hate to see the crew struggle and be understaffed because they are there to please all the guest and sometimes they are tired and burnt out. I also noticed on the SOS that the ship was warmer then I remember cruises being. You use to get your cabin cold and cozy where it was nice to sleep. I will have a Central Park Balcony cabin, so I think it will be fun to sit out there at night and listen to the entertainer and people watch. I'm excited that the ports we are stopping I have never been to. In Aruba I will be doing Snuba for the second time. Last year I did it in St Thomas and it was awesome!!! We always do snorkeling trips, but this is so much better cause you can just stay down and explore. I am looking forward to relaxing, eating and drinking this cruise!!!
