  1. Can anyone tell me how to figure out the bed placement in each of the cabins on the ovation of the seas? I know there’s some formula and I’m not sure if it’s different on each ship. I’ve been told that if you look at connecting cabins the one on the left has the bed closest to the balcony, and the one on the right closest to the bathrooms. Not sure if this is correct.

    Thanks 🙂

We're weighing two cruises for my kids' Spring Break this year - Allure from Galveston or Odyssey from Ft. Lauderdale. We've been on Allure before (our first and only Oasis class cruise so far) and loved it - this one would have same itinerary. I'd really appreciate some feedback about Odyssey as we've never been on a Quantum class ship, especially in comparison with Allure. It would most likely be $2000-$2500 more for Odyssey than Allure, although we might save as much as $800 on airfare to South Florida rather than Houston. And Allure is 7 nights vs 6 on Odyssey.

My kids will be 13 & 16 for this cruise. It has some significance because I'm starting a new teaching job next year where my spring break will be at a different time. Not sure we'll cruise again as a family (😪) for quite a while after this one with kids getting older.

One of my biggest questions is about the extra activities on Odyssey. They seem amazing but I'm wondering if there are constraints that make them less fun than they seem to be? Such as: long lines, limited open times, extra fees, etc. Can anyone talk about their recent experiences on Odyssey?

Ports are a wash - we love the Western Caribbean which we did last time on Allure, but on Odyssey we'd get Grand Caymen which we've never been to and CocoCay which the kids would love. So I'm not factoring that in, just experience on each ship and weighing the cost difference. If you've been on both ships, especially with teens, I'd love to hear your comparisons too.

    Thanks for any feedback!

We cruised on odyssey last year and liked it but it was a very different experience than the oasis class. It was more closed in and we really missed the boardwalk with the aqua show! I honestly don’t think we’d go on the quantum class again. Good luck with your decision but I don’t think I would spend the extra money if I were you. I hope this helps!

  3. My husband and I will be doing a back to back continuing on the March 4-9 sailing to celebrate our 40th anniversary! This will be our first time on the symphony. We've sailed on oasis, harmony and allure in this class and loved all of them. We really enjoy watching the cover bands on each cruise and hoping we can find out who will be performing on these dates.
