  1. How? Wasn't possible when i booked for a cruise coming up on Quantum.
  2. NO. "She also said there's no functional change to how the Crown Lounge will operate, "Don’t worry — access requirements aren’t changing. All members who have enjoyed the Diamond Lounge will continue to enjoy the exclusivity and comfort of your private space with delicious treats and top-notch service.""
  3. 12.01am I would assume. They said bookings open on "4 May 2023" - they did not indicate a time restriction.
  4. And that concludes a very sad ending to this story... "The Australian man missing off Hawaii after going overboard from a cruise ship has been identified as 35-year-old Warwick Tollemache. The US Coast Guard suspended its search for the missing Australian on Friday, after he went overboard while travelling on a Royal Caribbean cruise from Brisbane to Hawaii. Family and friends have shared posts on social media saying Mr Tollemache will be "deeply missed". "Our family is heartbroken at the loss of our beloved Warwick," Mandy Tollemache wrote. "He was a kind, beautiful, and gentle soul who was adored by everyone who knew him." Search and rescue mission coordinator, Kevin Cooper, from the Joint Rescue Coordination Center Honolulu, said Mr Tollemache's next of kin had been consulted before making the decision to call off the search"

  6. only by people speaking with the press. nothing in detail confirmed from authorities. and probably won't be until officially identified and name released.
  7. "A lady heard a scream, went out on the balcony and saw him drop past, hit the tender below, and fall into the water" he said on Thursday morning. https://www.skynews.com.au/world-news/passenger-says-a-scream-was-heard-before-crew-witnessed-australian-man-falling-from-balcony-of-quantum-of-the-seas-cruise-boat/news-story/b6c68d741d7e41b84773505aa22684d3 "The search for an Australian man who went overboard from a cruise ship in a remote area of the Pacific has been called off for the day, after a US Coast Guard plane exhausted its fuel supply". https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/apr/27/australian-man-overboard-cruise-ship-hawaii-royal-caribbean-quantum-of-the-seas-coast-guard-search-suspended
  8. Absolutely horrible and saddening - the whole ship today (as you can imagine) is flat and sombre... some people crying and want to get off the ship. https://www.skynews.com.au/world-news/us-coast-guard-join-in-search-for-australian-man-who-reportedly-fell-overboard-on-quantum-of-the-sea-cruise-ship/news-story/8ee2757a10411e7770dde44abb7d5ecb
  9. Yes. There was a Alpha, Alpha, Alpha call... then 90mins later Oscar, Oscar, Oscar...
  10. "The US Coast Guard has confirmed that an Australian is missing after going overboard from a cruise ship off Hawaii. That ship, the Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas, halted its course after the incident and took part in the initial search for around two hours. It has now resumed course and a C-130 Hercules is conducting an aerial search. The Honolulu Command Centre has confirmed that the person missing is an Australian man, but provided no further details." https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-04-27/cruise-ship-man-overboard-hawaii-brisbane/102270792
  11. “There was an announcement that there was a medical emergency and that a person had passed away which does happen from time to time,” Mark said. “But an hour and a half later, they got the call-out that somebody had gone overboard, and it turned out to be the partner of the person that passed away.” Royal Caribbean has been contacted for comment. https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/national/australian-man-falls-overboard-on-royal-carribean-cruise-to-hawaii-20230427-p5d3kk.html

  13. Pretty sad news coming from Quantum tonight.. Man Over Board... search has been going on for a number of hours but they have ended the search and are now steaming toward Hawaii. My home port, Brisbane on Quantums last sailing for the season, back to Hawaii, then on to service the Alaskan Season. Hope it's nobody we know. Developing story..
  14. That's it... all they want is cash. That's why they give you an envelope at the end of your cruise. They want cash, not a bag of peanuts, potato chips or chocolate etc.. Nothing says 'thank you' more than some money in the envelope they give you.
  15. We love the Buffalo sauce chicken wings. Order between 6pm and 8.30pm and they are usually nice (but because this is peak hour I think they mass cook them and keep them in a warmer for quicker despatch). We ordered some a couple of times at 11pm, omg... super crispy and hot!! (freshly made just for us). As for one cabin ordering 10 bowls of chicken wings, I would be VERY sceptical this would be permitted. Unless someone has specifically done it, I'd refrain on giving the generic.. "yeah no problems, order as many as you want, they don't care' reply {GS and above maybe yes, otherwise my money is on NO}
  16. Didn't matter in the end.. app was wrong... no Fosters on Aussie cruises..
  17. What makes it worse is that since this video was made, the have also removed the "FREE" Room Service. I think this was a great addition and an excellent sweetener for the KEY deal. GONE!!
  18. I travelled in Dec and got the flu whilst onboard. And travelled a couple of weeks back on a Pacific Cruise and tested positive to covid 24hrs after we got back home. Seems pretty normal these days.. colds/flu/covid... pretty good chance you will get one of them. New norm..
  19. NO. You can only get your credit by buying the internet once you are onboard. No pre purchased plans get 'credits'. On board only.
  20. Outstanding write up, I felt like I was on the journey with you! Thanks for taking the time to write up and share your experience (in detail) with the rest of us
  21. I'm amazed at the inconsistencies... here are the NEW terms relating to wine: "Guests wishing to bring personal wine or champagne onboard with them (either in their carry on or luggage) on embarkation day may do so, limited to two (2) bottles (no boxes) of 750ml each per stateroom. Only staterooms with at least one (1) guest meeting the minimum age to consume alcohol are eligible to bring bottles of wine or champagne onboard." Gotta love aussies
  22. Anyone know why the most loyal members do not get a discount coffee, but the least loyal do? Makes no sense...
