  1. What is your budget like? I think the general wisdom so far is to get two bathrooms. You could accomplish this with two neighboring or connecting cabins or there are a few suites, though it looks like on Utopia only in Star Class, that have two bathrooms. These are the 2 bedroom aquatheatre and royal loft suites.
  2. This page should give you some answers: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/what-identification-does-a-child-need?country=CAN
  3. I don’t think chops is open for breakfast on oasis class ships at all. My understanding is it’s open to suite guests on ships that don’t have a coastal kitchen
  4. I think this depends a lot on your travel party. In a 1 bedroom aqua you get a genuine bedroom with a closing door. The bedroom has its own balcony entrance. These features to me make a huge difference if you have someone sleeping on the sofa bed.
  5. So essentially you booked a specific room that you later discovered does not meet your expectations. There is no way for the RC system to know you are not comfortable with or cannot use Pullman beds. As many others have stated they will not assume that the pullmans are for children. They would assume two of your party are willing to sleep in them given that you are booking a room with them specifically. I think it’s unlikely they will compensate you for this. In my opinion your best option is the ocean view for $500 more. Sorry if you don’t feel this advice is helpful. I don’t want to mislead you into waiting for a better option and then risking the suitable room being booked by someone else.
  6. To be honest I’ve never printed luggage tags. Is there an advantage to doing it or is it a courtesy to the porters? They have never seemed to have any issue
  7. I agree that the responsibility for this is with the passengers and tour operator. I can’t imagine how stressful this would be for the passengers to be essentially stranded unexpectedly in this part of the world. Many of them don’t have their medications, access to money, etc.
  8. What ship is this on? Many of the “bunk beds”in the second bedroom of 2br grand suites are just overhead pullman beds that can absolutely be tucked away.
  9. I have heard it is common for the genies on oasis class ships to have all of the suites in the same proximity (ie all the port aqua suites or all the starboard aqua suites) so I think it’s not likely you would be automatically with the same genie. I would agree that you should make sure they know as soon you have any contact from them that you are a group so that you have the same genie.
  10. I was in your scenario a couple of weeks ago - traveling with my husband and our daughter. They have the same last name, I still use my maiden name. At check in they asked my daughter aged 7 who I was. We were able to tell them that we are her parents without needing documentation. Reading this, I’ll bring her birth certificate in the future.
  11. Yes they do still use that brand. Sadly the soap is still bar soap
  12. I agree with you that a lack of diversity in room offerings with true separation for families is a challenge for us too. Recently we stayed in a grand panoramic suite which are on Oasis and Allure which was lovely and almost has a door, but the top of the room is still open, so light and sound can go through into the living room.
  13. You can usually ask the genie for whatever time you want and they will try to accommodate. If you want to get on as soon as possible that will typically be around 10:30 obviously depending on port etc. Rooms are typically available for star class by 11. The genie will usually walk you on the ship and do the muster with you before taking you to your room. Luggage we have typically had within an hour or so of getting to the room. This has at least been our experience.
  14. we often travel for my daughters birthday. I just bring some decorations from our local dollar store and use magnets to put them up. It’s waaayyy cheaper than RC’s decorations and you can do it for whatever day you want
  15. Coco cay would be a great day to do a massage because you can walk off later or come back earlier so easily.
  16. What about specialty dining? I would say that the included food is not fancy (though generally tasty) but if high end food is your goal, then a dining package could make up lots of difference there.
  17. I agree I always put them on the top by preference but have never seen this written as an instruction. Sorry this happened to you! Glad you made your flight.
  18. It seems the likely compromise to me with the middle dining time will be that you get a mealtime closer to what you have at home but you likely won’t get to the show as easily. It’s the same as if you booked a specialty restaurant at that time. You’d likely be doing that not intending to see the show that night or at least knowing you’re going to the late show.
  19. One spot that comes to mind for me is deck 7 aft overlooking the aqua theatre there is a big ish area on either side. if you went in the early morning when the climbing wall was closed I wonder if you could have it to yourself for long enough for your ceremony.
  20. I don’t know anything about this port but in general that feels very early to me.
  21. When we do this we prefer to stay outside of the main Disney area. We find you get more space for a lot less. We don’t do parks dawn to dusk or everyday though so probably depends on how much park time you had in mind. Two good apartment style hotels in the local area we have been very happy with are Marriott cypress harbor, and Sheraton vistana villages.
  22. We were also on the last allure sailing from Galveston before she went to Orlando. The crew were all saying they had 3 days of deep cleaning as their ‘repositioning’
  23. Interesting! What kind of VVIP?
  24. There are 3 genies per ship, meaning they will typically have 3-4 suites per sailing. They are not solely dedicated to one room. You could expect to see them 1-4 times per day for a few minutes each time. usually they will drop in to say hello during dinner, sometimes lunch depending on what you’re doing, and if you’re going to a show you will see them then. You would also see them for specific activities like getting off the ship, dedicated flow rider time etc. otherwise you communicate via what’s ap messenger.
