  1. Thanks @teddy yeah i was looking at hotel prices and they are expensive. Most likely i'm going to drive and park there.
  2. Debating on whether to Drive up to Boston in the wee hours of the morning from Long Island, or take the Amtrak train to South Station to get to Boston cruise terminal (most likely night before and stay overnight). Anyone have any experience doing either?
  3. I also just became Diamond and it reflected on the same day as Elite for Celebrity. hopefully yours updates soon.
  4. I don't know if this guy is for real or not but I will say that I noticed some inconsistencies in my last 2 cruises with service. my dining service on Rhapsody (small ship) was stellar. They brought the food out bam bam bam. On Liberty (mid size) the dining service was slow as heck. there were lines every night, not just day one. the first 4 nights I had a different table/waiter until I got to one who was very good and I got to stay with him the rest of the cruise, but still took some time between meals. So not sure if it is the kitchen that were rolling things out late or the waiters were overwhelmed.
  5. Do we have a thread of all companies that status match? Obviously Celebrity and MSC do this, but would love to get a list going on other places that match your RCCL status.
  6. UK night is my least favorite. The fish and chips were too greasy. Any salmon dish is very good. my fave is the classic herb-crusted salmon dish.
  7. Finally made Diamond status after 7 cruises on RCCL!
  8. yeah i get that twangster about being in debt but it hasn't stopped them from building 2 brand new ships. I'm just trying to figure out how putting over a billion dollars into a brand new ship is going to get them out of debt vs. only spending 120 million to refurbish.
  9. Freedom and Independence were amplified. My point is refurbish her. I believe the Captain did say on this past cruise that she will be in a longer dry dock in a couple of years, but I didn't hear exactly his words personally, so not sure if he meant just for maintenance or an actual amplification.
  10. What is the reasoning or business case for spending billions of dollars on building brand new ships when, in my opinion, they should be refurbishing and amplifying existing ones? I was just on Liberty and that ole gal needs to be updated.
  11. Uber is unreliable in my opinion. I had to get an uber from Long Island to Bayonne for my cruise and it took me 4 different Uber drivers before someone would take me. Not to mention it was very costly. Prebook this with a reliable car service.
  12. and they used to have a discount for cruises 7 days + but that is gone too. No weekly rate.
  13. the water package is a complete waste of money IMO. if you don't want to lug around a 12 pack of water on day one, just bring a reusable water bottle to refill water at the many beverage stations. i have a collapsible one for easy packing.
  14. The weather can be mild and rainy. Bring a hoodie, bring a rainjacket and umbrella. Pool weather, probably not, especially cold RC pools. Jacuzzis yes. Warm during the day, chillier at night.
  15. Another question: Is there going to be a gap in wifi coverage between B2b cruises?
  16. it's all over the Caribbean though.
  17. Either that or get a day pass at a local resort. I found one for $80/85 that is all inclusive but i think it may cost a lot to take a taxi there and back. or just walk around locally for a bit, go to a nearby pool or beach and then come back to the ship.
