Sometimes we can choose where to sit in the MDR, so I want to know some names for upcoming cruises. Here are mine so far: On Jewel, head waiter Ayhan Tokok. On Freedom, Erhan and Erhan! The Happy Corner! PS Yes I know they move around sometimes to other ships, but they also can continue with the same ship.

Some thoughts post trip: The key is worth it if you are not in a suite. The priority embarkation and debarkation with the suite however was so amazing! Getting to bypass everyone and get onboard and offboard was priceless. I am now spoiled for a grand suite. I mean the spaciousness, the bathroom! They were not leaving hard form Cruise compasses in your room anymore you had to ask for them. Everything was on the TV. Johnny Rockets was not open for breakfast on this trip. I am glad I got the UDP. The suite lounge happy hour was very nice. MJ was super accommodating in making reservations for me. Bring your own sustainable straw. I can't stress how glad I was to do this on this trip. Those paper ones suck and do not mix with frozen drinks. The wait staff comedy duo of Erhan and Erhan on Freedom are a must-sit at their section. The Happy Corner! The comedian Rich Aronovitch is hilarious and apparently he was dancing on the pool deck the last day and I missed him!!!! Overall, Freedom was nice but I was surprised because I thought I wouldn't be able to see every section of the ship. But actually, even on a 3-nighter, I saw it all. I am eager to see how Oasis class is and if I like bigger.

you can get a bloody mary and mimosa with the UDP. i would imagine there is a fee for that unless you are a suite guest.

They did a man overboard drill while in Nassau. All i heard was OSCAR Oscar and i scrambled to get my phone out. I caught it at the end. But they threw the object from forward area and it drifted all the way aft. Took lifeboat a bit. 544a620d7ff21c461f44aaec5af9e843.mp4

the 3 night trip is just too short if you live outside of FL. But Freedom has been lovely. My wait staff Erhan and Erhan were hilarious. The room and the perks were great. The weather great! Booked a Bermuda cruise for October. See you in May Bahamas!

The grand suite is very nice. Spacious with lots of storage. Wish i was in it longer than 3 nights. I have to say not needing to wear a mask is refreshing.

looks like the $9 was added to my upgrade bid total cost so 329 for the upgrade including the gratuities. So hopefully this means no other added costs to be added to my cruise.

for me personally, I'm a solo person and the most I'm willing to pay is for a balcony. However, because the bidding became a later option, I figured I would make a minimum bid which was only $160 x 2 for the Grand Suite. There is no way I'm bidding thousands of dollars. I'm not rich. if the minimum bid didn't make sense to me financially, I wouldn't have done it. and the only reason I'd book a suite to start with, would be if I was with someone else or a group or I became rich or on the rare chance a suite was really cheap, which is rare.

Sometimes after you book a cruise and as you get closer to the sailing date, Royal will offer what's called RoyalUp, which is a bidding process to bid on a room better than what you booked originally. I had a balcony and got offered to bid on "better" rooms including a suite. I won the Grand Suite 1-bedroom with a very low bid. This frees up the balcony for resale and balconies are very popular. So even though I bid a lower amount, they'll make it back on selling that balcony. I'm sure @Matt has a blog about it somewhere.

Agreed. I don't drink soda unless it's ginger ale and even then it's rare. I guess it's alcohol for me!

I am planning on doing this for my upcoming trip to CC. So we have to stay with a tour of other jetskiers? How many are others are there in this group usually?

Per RCCL representative, the Coca Cola freestyle machine has more than 100 different flavor combinations for dispensing but how many of those are sugar free? I see someone said they have Coke Zero and Sprite Zero. How about Canada Dry Ginger Ale Zero sugar?

So now that I'm upgraded, is there no way to check on if my trip ever gets discounted again? I think the prices are going up actually but just wondering if there was a way to do this now that I'm no longer in the same room.
