  1. Thank you for letting me know this. I had no idea if there was a lift and it was a concern!
  2. @WAAAYTOOO thank you for your comments, from someone who has never been in a suite and never had to consider scooter space, it’s really helpful! I agree with your comments on the 1 bed GS, that’s one of the reasons I haven’t bit the bullet yet, as well as the no shower situation. With the 2 bed GS it’s comes as 2 bed, 2 bath, so we’d both get a bathroom and full bed but the shower is one of those tube ones. Not sure if there is enough space for the shower stool in one of those. Does anyone know? The OS has a larger square shower (at least it appears that way from the videos I’ve watched). The 2 bed has a similar partition layout to the 1 bed except the second bedroom and bathroom is right when you walk in, so downside would be she’d kind of be sleeping in an inside cabin, I don’t know her thoughts on that as all of this is a surprise for her! But both having a full bed would also be a lovely plus. The OS also has a similar design to the 1 bed in terms of that partition but she can hobble about with her stick to move around and likely would once she got into the room. It’s a tough decision. I see benefits for both. I think I’m leaning more to OS, better shower, more space, dining options (as you said). I’m waiting to hear back from my TA now as the price they quoted is cheaper on their website, and my original paid price for JS is cheaper now too. Hopefully they can do something for me there to make the upgrade even more inviting!
  3. Thanks for your feedback. Although I’ve cruise with RCI a few times, I’ve never used RoyalUp so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
  4. Hi All, I’m due to cruise at the end of September with my mum on Anthem. She has a mobility scooter and we’re currently booked in a standard JS (no accessible rooms available so have requested shower stool & bath aids). I originally upgraded us from balcony to JS for more space, but as I’ve had so much time to think about it, I’m considering another upgrade. It’s my mum’s first holiday in 17 years, her first cruise and our first holiday away without my dad/since I was a kid. It likely will be our only “girls” holiday as I likely will be looking at kids etc. in the near future, so I feel that warrants an upgrade, and a reason to treat ourselves, right? The question is, should I just upgrade us or should I wait to see what RoyalUp says? I got the below quote from my TA: Grand Suite - 1 Bedroom (GS) New Price 5219.40GBP less your payment 3808.76 gives you a balance of 1410.64GBP Category GT- Grand Suite Two Bedrooms New Price £6,691.40 less your payment 3808.76 gives you a balance of 2882.64GBP Category OS - Owner's Suite - 1 Bedroom New Price £7,611.40 less your payment 3808.76 gives you a balance of 3802.64GBP I think the ship will likely sail at a reduced capacity due to COVID and current UK restrictions, I know a lot of US folk have cancelled due to the uncertainty. I’m swaying more to either GT or OS as they both have showers, the GS only has a bath which I think she’d struggle with for 9 nights. I’ve checked online and there are 3 out of 4 GT’s available and 1 out if 4 OS’s available. What would you do? Upgrade now or hold to see for RoyalUp. The JS wouldn’t be bad if we stuck with it but I’d just love to treat her.
  5. I’m thinking the same. More space would be nice but I’m sure we’ll cope fine in a JS. Fingers crossed. It’s helpful to know what kind of success rate people have had though and with what types of bids, so thank you!
  6. Thanks. For our sailing there are 4 onboard, currently 3 available. Our ship sails end of September.
  7. Hi All, I’ll hopefully be travelling on Anthem in September with my mum and if RoyalUp is available I plan to bid on a 2bed Grand Suite from a Junior Suite. We originally booked the JS over a balcony for more room for her mobility scooter but I’m thinking separate connecting rooms may have been better (2 bed, 2bath) as I’m an early riser and she’s a late one. In hindsight we probably would’ve been better off with 2 balconies but we’re here now and fully paid for our JS. For those that have used RoyalUp before, what is the typical price scale (min/max)? For those that have been successful what did you bid to gain the upgrade? Thanks!
  8. The rules for Anthem British Isles cruises have been released. Select Southampton from the drop down from the URL below. Does this mean for fully vaccinated we don’t have to wear masks onboard? https://www.royalcaribbean.com/gbr/en/healthy-sail-center/before-you-board-your-cruise?country=GBR&utm_medium=email&_hsmi=132417851&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-9ohhf1xxyMvWrl_pKhWuuu2gdmSVJhM3vaqofw6fbzhuFFSSCTwbpQbdJknLtUkekCWmzQLo5CPauOO7jL2sJmZz0EZl5IgoDhLhhOpHctn6_nSpo&utm_content=132417851&utm_source=hs_email&fbclid=IwAR1DOHYfQIf0RYyeKHHXP6_qTtA4-9eP7NEaHFskeJEJLugsQhU-wvY6j_Y
  9. With all the current threats and tensions in Israel, do you think the inaugural sailing will go ahead? I have a cruise booked next year in October, I’m no longer confident that will go ahead. I’ve heard rumours that RCI are moving staff from Odyssey to Anthem already.
  10. @smokeybanditthat worked! Thank you. @JLMoranthanks for the instructions. I’ll give that a go!
  11. Yes, but I can’t see where to search for flights and if I click login or register it only offers agent details.
  12. I can see some people book air2sea themselves but I can’t see the option, only via an agent. Is this because I’m in the UK?
  13. I wondered the same. I saw it recently disappeared from my September 21 cruise but it’s available (at a ridiculous rate) on my October 22 cruise.
  14. @emmef thanks. My mum walks with a stick and either something else to grab onto or my arm! So we should be fine to get out on the balcony. The scooter is mostly to allow her to get around the ship unaided as she can’t walk far even with a stick and an arm. Really helpful to hear all of your thoughts on the cabin! Thanks all!
  15. I think the only one that slightly interests us is priority check in. I may take a look at this if ours gets cancelled. Thanks!
  16. We originally looked into this and unfortunately none were available which is why we looked at a normal room. I’ve contacted RCI special needs to ensure she gets a shower chair etc. to support her there.
  17. Hi All, I’ve booked a Junior Suite for my mum and I in September. After some thought the price is the same as if we’d bought two separate connecting balcony rooms. I originally booked the JS for extra room, especially with 2 of us crammed together with her mobility scooter. But if we had 1 room each it wouldn’t be as bad. I’m thinking we’d both have a big bed and a bathroom each and our space. I’m thinking if our cruise gets cancelled, should I consider a change of room type. What are peoples thoughts? This is our first holiday together since I was 13 (17years ago). My question is, if you book a cabin for one, is it just you pay as if there are two people or is the price cheaper/more expensive? Do you get double points as a “solo” cruiser in one cabin each all the time? Or is it just during this promotion? Any other benefits/negatives you think I should also be considering? Thanks!
  18. This is our biggest issue on a cruise. We always get a “private” table but we may as well not have asked for one. The last cruise we changed table and waiter as he treated 4 private tables as one big group which we hated. We also hated random people joining our conversation. If we wanted either we’d have signed up for a group table. We were literally 2 inches apart from the next private table.
  19. Thanks for posting this. I have one booked on 23rd September and wondered if it had been cancelled. Not just yet anyway!
  20. Thank you for both of your comments. You’ve been very helpful!
  21. Hi All, My mum and I are booked on the Anthem in September (?) and I’m looking to treat her on the formal night by paying for us both to get our hair done. It’s her first cruise and I want it to be special for her. From memory I think day 2 is a good guess for a formal night as it’s a sea day before the first port. Does this sound like a right assumption to others? I’d also like to ask what people’s experience is like with the ‘shampoo and style dry’ hair treatment? Do they do whatever style you like? Are they any good? Is it worth the money? Would love to hear people’s experience. Thanks!
  22. What makes you think they’ll abandon it if as you say most will be vaccinated? I have my fingers crossed for a September cruise around Norway, Denmark, Netherlands and France ?
