Early morning today. In Cozumel and we are headed to the mainland for pyramids. Luckily we called it an early night and waking up this morning was doable. Dinner last night was great.

My fridge was full and I asked for a cooler with beer. We had food from Giovanni. 17 people in total. Great fun. -

I hosted in my Aqua. We drank all beer and wine. Great fun. -
Great day with Coco Cay over water cabana. Headed to Cozumel.

Kids tested negative! Made it on the ship. Genie escorted us to our room. It is awesome! Fridge full of beer. Fruit and wine on table. Very impressed with Star Class experience. I recommend to all.

Took Uber from our hotel near airport to Terminal A. Arrived at 10:00. Found Star Class area and porter tagged our bags, put them on a cart and the bags are staying with us. Next my three children will get Covid tests once terminal opens at 10:30am. Fingers crossed. Getting excited and thirsty. Was sure nice seeing the ship.

Made it to Miami. All of my family tested negative for Covid. Kids will retest again tomorrow at Terminal A. I have been in contact with our Genie Shane. Excited for tomorrow!

I suitcase mine. Once off the ship, I put sea pass in my suitcase to take home for my collection. On board I ask my wife to carry my sea pass card. I keep my hands busy with drinks.

Anyone know if being less than sober, or significantly less than sober, affects Covid testing? Asking for a friend

Interesting move, will Royal Follow suit?
AlmondFarmer replied to Neesa's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
I agree with your logic. Some multi generational group cancellations will occur if unvaccinated kids are banned but this could also be offset by more adults (or vaccinated kids) willing to sail if masks aren’t required anywhere on ship. I hope Royal will drop area mask requirements without requiring kids to be vaccinated. Time will tell. -
Booking 2 bedroom suite for 6 people
AlmondFarmer replied to Ken s's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Yes. Results in a split reservation which has two confirmation numbers. As stated the price for guests 5,6,7,8 is the same as guest 3 and 4. Doing some simple math will get you room total for 6. -
Interesting move, will Royal Follow suit?
AlmondFarmer replied to Neesa's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Royal claims 700,000 have sailed since restart. I have not heard that a single one of these passengers has died from Covid contracted onboard a sailing. Thus Royal Caribbean is doing a perfect job keeping their passengers safe without young kids being vaccinated. I would consider this a plain reason to not reduce the vaccination requirement age. -
Royal Caribbean has this information. Contact them and ask category price.

We have a A1 2 bedroom Aqua theater for my wife, twin boys (turning 7 on sailing) and 5 year old daughter. Also joining is my sister in law and her 18 month old son. There are 3 other families in Sky class suites and two sets of grandparents in Junior suites. I booked this suite the day it released back in November 2019 while on board Navigator. We are flying direct to Miami from San Francisco. I splurged on first class seats since we had lots of American credits from cancelled cruise flights. Staying near Miami airport the night before cruise then using hotel shuttle to ship (if times are bad we will use other transportation) Got an over water cabana for Coco Cay. With current protocols we are required to purchase Royal excursions to take kids off ship in other ports. Because of this rule I purchased a mainland excursion to ruins in Cozumel. (We usually do an island beach club on our own) In Roatan we will go to Sol y Mar for beach time. No plans currently for Costa Maya. The port pass apiary I have read others have done has not been available in cruise planner. Received Genie email from Shane. Gave him a list for dining times and places for each night. I hope that there will be flexibility to make changes if necessary. Made beer and wine requests for our room. I travel with a Yeti bag which I prefer over the cowboy cold fridges in Royal Caribbean rooms. I asked for 2019 vintage Coors Light (high snowfall in Colorado Rockies that year provides a hint of pine) If this is unavailable I’ll settle for 2021 vintage. Also asked Shane for an in suite ice cream party the afternoon of my twins birthday for all the kids in group. Doing COVID tests locally before heading to airport. Plan to do two in attempt to reduce potential sample problems. Listing this post in “Live Blog” section. No promises on quantity or quality of posts during sailing. Will certainly post a reflection on experience and answer questions once back home.

Navigator 8694 vs 9694
AlmondFarmer replied to wannabecruiseexpert's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
If you like looking down on people, select 9694. Floor plans are the same. I prefer Navigator layout over Freedom class 2 bedroom grand suites. 2nd bathroom is in hallway near large walk in closet. -
Adventure of the seas going to be Amplified?
AlmondFarmer replied to smiles998's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Speed and fuel consumption are correlated but not linearly. Drag, both due to air and water, increases exponentially. approximate example: double speed, triple fuel consumption. -
